  1. Yea now that they are on the road there is no problem at all =).
  2. AGM 65A = RB 75 (though The Swedish version had a modified seeker to better suit Swedish light conditions though i dont really know if that had any effect on lock on range etc) and AGM 65B = RB 75B (Fictional Designation as Sweden Never Acquired the AGM 65B). So when i talked about those two i was talking about the performance the Mavericks on the Viggen should have. And since this is in the Viggen bug section The missiles the Viggen has are more relevant (and if their seekers are to good or not) then the performance of the AGM-65D or the other Variants used by the A-10 (as the Viggen can not carry them). That is why i focused on the AGM 65A and AGM 65B (RB 75 and RB 75T) (since they are the relevant seekers and they are proven to be overperforming against small targets which is what you where taking note of to start with).
  3. The British Harrier II (GR.5,7,9) is quite different from the AV-8B though (Including a redesigned wing) so what the Pylons can carry what on a Gr.5 etc does not have much meaning on what a AV-8B is capable off carrying(The British Harrier 2 also has more hardpoints with 4 per wing instead of the 3 of the AV-8B).
  4. The lock range is most likely still WIP since the AGM-65A and AGM-65B (RB 75 and RB 75T are based on the AGM-65A and RB 75B is a fictional designation for a "Swedish" AGM-65B) had the worst Seeker lock ranges (Against Vehicles sized targets) of any of the Maverick variants (as they were the first variants). When it comes to a clearer and sharper picture (dont know if i agree that its clearer and sharper but =P ) it might be due to the fact that the AGM-65A and 65B use a different type of Seeker, as they have Electro-optical TV seekers where as the Later AGM-65s use IR seekers (D/F/G) or CCD seeker (H/J/K) so that might explain the difference in picture. The Seeker on the RB 75s should be very vulnerable to bad weather conditions though (Mist,Fog,Bad light/Night conditions etc) where as the later seeker are much more All Weather capable (which is a primary reason why the A/B variants where replaced in US service). This is still early days so seeker lock ranges etc are bound to change. (to become more realistic) Though the RB 75/75T especially still have some significant (and realistic) disadvantages compared to the AGM-65s on the A-10s as they have no zoom (where as the AGM-65B/RB 75B is zoomed in only) and they are pretty prone to lock something other then the target, and due to the lack of zoom its very hard to tell if they have locked directly onto the target or onto something a few feet from the target. So against smaller targets (especially if they are close to wreckage or buildings etc) its not uncommon to waste missiles by locking / launching at something right next to the target. I also dont know how the DCS engine handles the TV lock ranges (if its dynamic depending on target size or if there is a set range limit no matter the target type). Since where as the AGM 65A and AGM 65B had relatively short lock on ranges against vehicles like a Tank or Truck etc against a larger objective like a Building or small ship the lock on range was much greater. So unless they are able to give them dynamic lock ranges depending on target size i hope they are a bit generous on the target lock range, though i agree that atm the seekers are able to get locks on smaller targets at longer ranges then they should be capable of.
  5. One note about atleast the Blue Viggens that start from the Road base. They are unable to contact Awacs etc. (Those that start From Krymsk are fine) No Radio Presets? Dont know if the same it true for the Red side.
  6. First what is your entire loadout? Just AKAN?. Akan is only Compatible with 2 other air-ground weapons those being the RB 75 and RB 05. (You can ofc also mix it with air-air weapons or even Countermeasure pod and 1 gunpod). So for example if you also carry Bombs or Rockets then the Gunpods wont work. And also This is most likely not the cause of your problem but the Akan weapon selector mode you mention is not the default mode for the Akan gunpod. The complete name of that mode on the selector is Akan Luft and that is the Air-Air mode for the gunpod with the Standard Air-Ground mode being in the Attack Position (just like with the Rockets). But my guess would be the problem is due to a invalid weapons mix. Try loading either a loadout with just the Gunpods or with 2x Gunpods + 2x RB 75 or 2X RB 05. Then set the Weapon selector to ATTACK, Then either use nav mode and simply unsafe or go to ANF mode (which will also provide Radar ranging). Then simply use it in the same was as the rockets so roll in on the target keep the pipper on the target and when the Wings appear squeeze the trigger for about 1 sec (or less if you need less) and then go evasive. And additional Information those AKAN + RB 75 and AKAN + RB 05 mixes are the only 2 Air-ground weapon mixes possible in the Viggen (no other air-ground ordnance can be mixed together if tried it will result in one of the two weapon types not being useable) These limits are realistic and are due to the different options on the Armament panel (that the ground crew sets up as a part of arming the aircraft) but i wont go more into that subject unless asked to. And as far as the sound goes its probably just WIP, they probably decided having the function ready etc was more important then having the Gun sounds implemented when it entered early access.
  7. I also edited the post after you saw it with a breif summary of Cannon use though so might as well make sure you see it xD.
  8. As with most other modules its in their Docs Folder. Check the DCS folder in the following location. Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\AJS37\Docs. There you should find the Manual. But in short the AJS 37 has no internal cannon (The JA 37 Fighter variant had one but not the earlier attack variant) so you will have to Load the Akan gunpods (armed with 30mm Aden Cannons), on the inner wing stations (2 being the standard but its possible to load just 1). Then its used the same as the ARAK rocket pods so just set the weapon selector to ATTACK with either NAV or ANF master mode (ANF is best as you get Radar ranging) roll in on the target and start shooting when you get the "Shoot cue" (Wings on the Pipper appear). Fire a 0.5-1 sec burst and then roll off the target to re-attack if needed. But this is also not the correct thread to ask this questions for the future.
  9. Just did a sortie from the Blue Viggen Road base and it worked just fine. The Aircraft started on the grass so had to use the afterburner to get onto the Road. Takeoff was easy enough as while the road was not perfect it was long enough so no problem there. So all in all good work =) gonna do more road base flying tomorrow followed by Re-arming at the nearby farp (you could place a Farp at the Roadbase for Re-Arming as well maby? just park it close enough to where you can taxi the Viggen to where it touches the Farp and it should apparently be possible to Re-Arm. One down side with using Road bases ingame though (just how the Viggen is Set up) is that you wont be able to Set up the Navigation system correctly. Since one cant feed the starting location/airfield into the nav computer it does not know where you are. That can be fixed if one lands to re-arm at a proper airfield (and just set it as the starting airfield before starting off). But due to there being no default road base locations on the map there is no way around this problem. Not a major problem though as on this server you mostly rely on Skynet to find the targets anyway. So thanks for this addition and im looking forward to doing some more "testing" tomorrow =>.
  10. Lets bring this corpse back as its still something that is nagging me =P. Ive been searching more on the internet but been unable to find anything more about it. I asked Goblin about it (who served as Groundcrew on the AJS 37) but he did not remember the numbers. Though he suggested that the "Ground Crew Manual" for the Viggen SKI 37 (Särskild Klargöringsinstruktion FPL37) would most likely have the specifics. According to their Website the manual has been Declassified. Sadly i live in northern Sweden so its a bit out of my way =P. Is there anybody who is local to Stockholm who would be willing to go to Krigsarkivet and take a look? =P.
  11. Well the ECM mostly really activates when being locked up. So thats when you want to use CM anyway (and if you have the Countermeasures in Automatic it will release Chaff automatically when locked anyway). So its not really much of a problem.
  12. Something like either 4x RB 75T (or 2x RB 75 and 2x RB 75T), External tank and 2x RB 24J for the other wing pylons might be a nice and Versatile loadout. With the RB 75Ts being based on the AGM-65A but with the heavy warhead (Around 130 kg) making them usefull against most type of targets (light or heavy) where as the standard RB 75 has the normal warhead so its less versatile since while it might be perfect for vehicles etc it might not pack the punch for buildings or cargo ships etc (and also does not have the Splash effect of the RB 75T). This would probably be one of the more versatile loadouts since most other air-ground loadouts are more specific depending on what the target is. Though 2x RB 75T and 2x Gunpods (+ External tank and RB 24J on the outer wing pylon) could also be interesting since where as you give up 2x mavericks the Gunpods would prove usefull if there are multiple lightly armored targets. So if you have to go with a Default ground loadout for possible road bases id say go with one of those 2. And it would be amazing to have some type of Roadbase =>. (maybe place them close to the Heli Farps if there are suitable roads nearby)
  13. Yea the missile seekers are very much underperforming the RB 74 especially. the RB 74 is based on the Aim-9L so the seeker should be more or less as capable as the Aim-9M (With the Main Improvements in the Aim-9M being a Rocket motor that generates less smoke and the seeker being slightly more resistant to flares etc). But when it comes to lock on range / angles the Aim-9L should preform more or less as the Aim-9M does. So the Performance we are getting from the RB 74 now is obviously a bug since its nowhere near how it should be preforming. the RB 24J is based on the Aim-9J/P series of missiles and is rear aspect so its seeker is worse then the RB 74 etc though its still underperforming especially when it comes to lock up range then behind a target.
  14. Was the banging accompained by Beeping sounds? ^-^ If so you had a compressor stall due to high AOA. You dont wanna pull AOA above 18-20 degrees or you will start having troubles. And about the cockpit lighting. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-uSpZROuEd3bEwwQ1A4cU82ejg/view page 34 shows the location of the Instrument and flood light controls.
  15. No typo. In P3 both pods dispense in parallel so its 8 minutes whether you carry 1 or 2 pods. where as in P4 you dispense at the same speed but one pod at the time (this is the difference between the two modes).
  16. Nope. The reason is that when the Ground Crew loads the weapon there is an external armaments panel where they set the correct positions depending on the loadout of the aircraft (telling the aircraft what it is carrying) Here the relevant pages from the ground crew manual concerning the armaments panel and the different selectors / positions. http://imgur.com/a/xrc6o The Weapon selector (Vapen väljare) is the main selector for weapons and where you can determine what weapons can be carried. The RB 75 + Akan and RB 05 + Akan loadout is possible because there is a specific AKAN/05/75 position as well as a standard 05/75 position (And then there is a specific Selector where you set if its a RB 05 or a RB 75). But there is no such Position for other weapon types (No rocket pod / Bomb Position etc) So what happens ingame when you take and invalid loadout (lets say Bombs + Rockets) is that the ground crew would have to set the weapon selector to either Rockets or Bombs (as there is no Rockets + Bombs Position) and then only one of the two weapon types would be useable (like will happen ingame with invalid loadouts). RagnarDa has stated that he wanted to allow some additional (not strictly realistic) loadout mixes that might come later (things like BK 90 + RB 75 etc) but as of now we have the realistic limitations.
  17. Im guessing this is a mistake but you have listed the range for the RB 04E as 8km =P. While its onboard seeker has a range of about 8km the missile range is far longer then that (max flight range around 30km but a practical launch range is around 24-26km) so that 8km range you have listed is probably within the minimum range bracket for the Missile =P. And also one thing that you might want to add as well is a list letting people know what air-ground mixes are valid and which are not. As that is missing in the standard manual and it has many people confused. (Basically RB 75 + Akan and RB 05+ Akan are Valid Air-Ground mixes with all other being Invalid though ofc you can mix any weapon type with Air-Air missiles and Countermeasures without any problems).
  18. Now that the Stable has been updated and the Viggen is here i hope the Server is updated as soon as possible to implement it =). And have you made a decision concerning the Viggen and implementing Target waypoints for it (In order for the pilots to get the correct QFE settings).
  19. Probably less since it seems the Bomb Drag seems to be far to high atm so hopefully that has been fixed now.
  20. Great news =). Great work with fixing the few problems we have been able to find so far. Keep up the amazing work =). Since the only "problem" i have right now is that i feel like the RB 24J and RB 74 are underperforming in most areas but especially when it comes to the seeker (Having a hard time to lock targets and the RB 74 in particular seems VERY weak on the seeker side). But other then that with these latest fixes its gonna be great taking her online again =).
  21. Well the problem with the mixed loadout is the positions of the different selectors in the External armaments panel that the Ground crew is in charge of. For example lets say you put bombs and RB 75 on the aircraft. Now there is no mode in that external armaments panel for that mix. For the Bombs to work you have to set it in the BOMB position on the weapon selector. But that would mean the RB 75 would not work as the Aircraft computer would not be aware you where carrying any RB 75s (so no EP13 etc). But if you set it to one of the RB 75 positions (Either 05/75 or AKAN/05/75) then the RB 75 would work but not the bombs. And since this panel is external its something the Ground crew has to do prior to flight (as a part of arming the aircraft) Here is a few pages concerning the armament panel and the different loadout options. http://imgur.com/a/xrc6o But yea they should include some of this info in the Manual (in pretty bold writing ^^) since i see plenty of people on MP flying with invalid loadouts and not understanding why it does not work.
  22. Am i the only one that thinks that the RB 24J and RB 74 are very much underperforming in general but especially when it comes to their seekers? The RB 74 especially as it has a very hard time to lock up targets even at shorter ranges and seems to be completely unable to do all-aspect lock (And since the RB 74 is based on the Aim-9L it should be as capable in that area as the Aim-9M). And while a AJS 37 pilot should generally try to avoid combat with enemy fighters having the missiles perform properly would be very nice =P.
  23. What loadout are you carrying?. As long as you have a Valid Loadout it should just be moving the Weapon selector to RB 75 and then the master mode to ANF. But make sure you have a Valid loadout. Only Valid Air-Ground weapon mixes are RB 75 + Gunpod and RB 05 + Gunpod (Countermeassure pods and Aim-9s are compatible with all weapon types).
  24. Just one attack or did you test mulitiple? As the AVG might be different. The RB 04E feels less consistent in its damage output.
