I also discovered it by accident. Did a Anti-ship run my first Sortie with RB 04Es and re-armed with Rockets for the next when i discovered it. Quickly realized what it was and what caused it and im pretty sure its a feature and not a bug as they had mentioned adding it a while ago.
-
I see they have implemented the ability to launch the rockets in a salvo mode of 1 rocket per pod at a time (So 4 Pods = 4 rockets at at time). Im guessing most people dont realize this feature is implemented as i have not seen it mentioned in the Manual or in the Tutorial. The way you activate this feature is you set the Release mode Selector to Enkel (Single) its the same Selector Used for the RB 04E and RB 15F. With that Set to enkel you will launch 1 rocket per pod at a time so a total of 6 releases and if you set it back on Grupp (Group) you will launch the entire Pod. I remember the devs said they had considered implementing it but did not realize it was already implemented so decided to make this Thread to let everybody know.

Multiple Types of weapons not usable
mattebubben replied to ultrablue2258's topic in Bugs and Problems
It was like this IRL. So the only mixed Air-Ground loadouts we can do ar RB-75+Gunpods and RB 05+Gunpods. This might change in the future though. Here is a Quote From RagnarDa. -
Yea ive done the same (Mach 2.77 before it nosed over and my pilot blacked out was able to Eject during the mach dive 2.6 that followed seconds before it hit a mountain side though at that speed pilot probably died instantly at ejection =P ) Screenshot below as i clocked in at 2.67 on my way to 2.77. So this is a bug for sure =P (As if i remember correctly she should max out at around 2.0-2.1) but its to be expected there are some things still to work out ^^. Or maby this is accurate and this is how the JA 37 Viggen Really intercepted those SR-71s ^^.

I think its only a problem with some weapons though. Since i had no problem taking off with the RB 05A launching them getting back to base rearm and then do it again. But with the Maverick i did have the problem of them only working the first time around. So it might just be a problem with some weapons.

Multiplayer - Server update timeout on spawn in the viggen
mattebubben replied to tob.s's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yea its weird. Yesterday i tried to join blue side on 104th for 3 times being booted within 30 sec. Then i tried red side and it worked and i flew for 30 without any problems. Then i joined again today and flew for 2.5 hours without any problems. Then i try another server and everything is fine after 30 min of flight. I try to rejoin it after lunch and gets booted directly. Then i cant get on a single server i try (get booted after 30 sec to 2 min spent in aircraft). and so on =P. Its wired because it comes and goes so much. First its fine and then one gets a DC almost instantly =P. I hope somebody figures out the cause and a fix for it =P. -
He might not have flown it. But he worked on them if i remember correctly.

Multiplayer - Server update timeout on spawn in the viggen
mattebubben replied to tob.s's topic in Bugs and Problems
Tried that fix sadly it did not help me =P. -
The Viggen Will outrun both the Mirage 2000 and Mig-29 on the deck as it is today (not tested with F-15 or Su-27 yet) been doing Drag races against both and after a few seconds of afterburner the Viggen starts to pull ahead (if both aircraft are clean or lightly loaded). So its Certainly not slow =P. The engine in the Viggen is of a different type from the engine in a Mirage 2000 so the performance levels at different RPMs are different. The Engine in the Viggen is the Volvo RM8A (Based on the Civilian JT8D engine but with modifications and a Afterburner section from Volvo added) It gives out 65.6kN Static Thrust at Military power and 115.6kN Static Thrust with Maximum Afterburner. In comparison the Snecma M53-P2 delivering 64.3kN Static thrust at military power and 95.1 Kn at full afterbuner. So while the Viggen has a very slight thrust advantage in MP the Mirage due to significantly lighter weight will be faster in MP. But in full after burner its a whole other game as you can see the Viggens After burner providers significantly more thrust giving it better acceleration in full afterburner. They are different engine types with different advantages (The Viggen engine is also significantly older). But depending on loadout you should be able to cruise at speeds between 700-900 KPH+ using just MP. But Mill power is only really used for cruising if you need speed just jump into one of the Afterburner modes and you are incredibly quick. Unless you are light and have a long runway use Afterburner on takeoff (Stage 2 is a good medium but if you want minimum take off distance use Stage 3) stay in afterburner untill you are gears up and around 500kph+ then you can either go to MP or Stage 1 Afterburner (Stage 1 will let you keep accelerating at a faster rate rate while burning less fuel then Stage 2 or Stage 3). But this aircraft Certainly is not slow once you punch in the afterburner =P. As for the nose Wheel Steering. Are you using a Twist rudder Joystick? since there is apparently a know problem with some Joysticks with Twist rudder atm. If you are using Rudder Pedals then simply set up a little bit of a curve and there should be no problem taking off. And on how to crate a Curve. Go into Controls then Axis assign then you select the Yaw/Rudder Axis device and then Tune Axis. And then you adjust the curvature and try it out to see how it is ingame and if you need to adjust it further. Start buy making a curvature of 10 for example and you can adjust further if you need it.

Again they stated it would be released for 1.5 on the 27th January... And it was release on 1.5 on 27th January... So they kept that promise... They never specified if it would be released on 1.5.5 or 1.5.6 on the store page. They stated a 1.5 release and that is what we have on schedule... If you dont want to patch your game to the latest version to enjoy the Viggen then that is your choice not theirs.
-
Yea im also having that same problem with the Mavericks. I might add another Re-Arm issue ive found. My External Tank does not seem to be automatically re-filled during Re-Arm. I need to Manually remove it (By Removing the External tank through the Re-Arm menu) and then Add a New one.
-
On the Store page 1.5 Stable = Caucasus. Compared to 2.0 Open Alpha = NTTR. so 1.5.6 is still a 1.5 Stable version and everybody is able to access it (You dont have to buy it like with NTTR). And since all Major Updated / new aircraft are released into 1.5 Open Beta first i dont understand how this is a surprise to so many =P.

Well what they could do with the Viggen is Give Blue the Green camo Viggen and the Red the Bare metal Silver colored Viggen. Since it should not be too hard to tell them apart (since they will look so different one being Dark and one being Light in color) though there will still likely be some Friendly Fire from people who just look at the silhouette instead of getting close enough to tell if its Green or Silver. (But then again there are people even now what manage to FF being unable to tell the F-5E and Mig-21 apart at times =P). And While not an optimal solution i think this might be the best one possible atm.

[RESOLVED] Yaw instability or SPAK is not my friend...
mattebubben replied to Goblin's topic in Bugs and Problems
It also feels like the Nose Wheel Steering is on all the time during the takeoff run where as in most other aircraft i think its automatically turned of (or atleast limited) after a certain speed is reached (as it could easily become dangerous since even slight rudder movements might cause violent maneuvers that might become difficult to control). Is this how it should be? (The full Nose Wheel Steering authority being active during the entire Takeoff run). -
[REPORTED] Bombing tutorial pressure error
mattebubben replied to Zarma's topic in Bugs and Problems
Do you have the Correct QFE setting set? And do you remember to put the target between the Dot and the Circle (First/last bomb). Having the Correct QFE setting for the target area is crucial for accurate target estimation though for CCIP drop one does not have to be 100% spot on. And you deliver the bombs from level flight flying very low or do you do a slight pop up before a slight dive bomb release?. (You can always check in the Kneeboard to get the QFE settings for the different Waypoints). I have no problems getting accurate bomb drops with CCIP (with the First and last bombs corresponding more or less with the CCIP Hud symbols). So are you sure all of your preparation etc is set up correctly. -
**AJS-37 Viggen Released in Open Beta!**
mattebubben replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Im guessing he might have come up with that from a question in the last live stream (That i might admit i was guilty of ^^) -
Dont find it hard to taxi at all. Just dont turn the Nose wheel all the way over or you might start skidding the nose wheel. You should feel the moment the nose wheel starts to skid at that point simply center it again then start turning it gradually again, dont just simply go max rudder deflection while on taxi. And on the second part have you heard of trim my friend? ^^.
-
Indeed. But the point is the Viggen is not as easy a Pray as some might think. And it will without a doubt be the hardest Attack aircraft to catch for enemy fighters. Since its the only one that can actually run away from an enemy. And if you are letting the enemy fighters get close enough to launch on you then you are already making a mistake. The moment you see Radar spikes getting close from the enemy direction you should consider running and if they lock you (and you have a strong suspicion that it is an enemy fighter thats the point where you can jettison and run for it (if you have to jettison weapons or not depends on what Loadout you have as some weapons have more Drag then others). And sure fighters can still prevent you from striking the targets if they manage an intercept but they might not be able to catch or shoot you down if you turn and run in time. Where as in a A-10 or Su-25 your only chance is either hiding hoping they loose you or pray for somebody to save you.
-
If You can catch us. A Clean Viggen (With Pylons) will out accelerate a clean Mirage 2000 (Without pylons) even if both have 100% internal fuel. So if you simply punch all external load in the Viggen and go full afterburner you will out accelerate a Mirage 2000 (Even more so if he has weapons or weapons pylons which is a guarantee if on any combat server to start with) and the advantage will just increase as the Viggen burns fuel. So unless you manage to surprise / catch a slow Viggen they should be able to simply run way from you.

I have a Man cold atm you want me to cough on you? Its bound to get you home from work though as it is a Man Cold the chances of survival are 50/50 at best.

For me the Reason is MP. I tend to play mostly MP and the servers i play on Tend to stay on the Stable version (with some exceptions). So when i used the Open Beta Client and it got an update i would no longer get onto those servers for a week (and sometimes more) until the Stable was updated to that same version. Luckily that wont be an Issue in this case as the 104th atleast has stated they will be Updating to 1.5.6 tomorrow (to support the AJS and give Viggen pilots somewhere to Fly on MP). I currently have Separate clients anyway so (Open Beta and Stable) but will probably be playing just the Open Beta after the AJS 37 is released =) (Since there will be MP servers Supporting it).
-
Well the ED patches are usually released during the Afternoon EU times. So this will most likely be the same.
-
Well there have been some people saying things like they will never trust / Pre-order from leatherneck again due to their disappointment about them releasing it into the Open beta first. Those are the people that are really getting me (and others) annoyed =P. We are less upset with players who actually have logical reasons for either not wanting to change to the Open beta (and that also dont overract about it all) or that simply wish it had come to Stable right away instead of open beta first.
-
Ofc fully understandable just wanted to check so i know what my alternative are =). Luckily there will be other servers doing Open beta (104th for example) so those (like me) who want to fly the Viggen in MP will still have the chance. Will give me a week atleast to get familiar with the Viggen before i throw it into the Chaos that is Open Conflict ^^.
