NTTR Other Airports Hello all, sorry if this was already mentioned. I'm not sure if it's just an installation issue or the fact that the NTTR is still in alpha, but I only get four airports. McCarran, Nellis, Creech and Groom Lake. There are many others around Vegas and the NTTR. Flying over Tonopah for example, I can see the sattelite image of the airport, but there is no 'actual' airport there. Is this just a bug on my installation or something that is being planned for the future? The NTTR is just amazing, and it would be amazing if the Black Sea map could get some of the features too :)

Hi everyone, I think that the time has come for me to join multiplayer. I've been on singleplayer since the days of LOMAC, and I'm looking for something a little extra. In FS I'm active on IVAO, so I know the general 'Be polite, follow RT procedures, fly well, and don't be an idiot' rules. But in DCS there are some big differences, at least for me. IVAO is one big server, where everyone joins and is expected to follow strict procedures. But in DCS there are at least a good twenty if not more active games at one time. Which one would be good to join first? Don't want to crash into somebody's party. Is teamspeak needed on all servers? On IVAO, it's obvious 99% of the time, everybody flies their plane from their chosen A to their chosen B. But obviously on DCS there are many more options. Is there a more detailed mission description somewhere? How strict are the Radio procedures? Can somebody be a ground station, say KLSV_TWR, for example? Is it difficult to get into a squadron? That's all that's come to my mind so far, thank you for anyone that takes their time with answering my questions :) And please add anything else that's important :)

MiG-29A as a Third Free Aircraft for DCS:W
j.sabo12 replied to TheFurNinja's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I voted no for the reason that I bought LOMAC, Lock on flaming cliffs standalone, and then the Flaming Cliffs 3, each of which effectively rendered the previous obsolete. The next thing is that you'll have people requesting all the FC3 aircraft to be free. FC3 planes can be bought on a sale nowadays for the price of a decent coffee. Is it really that much to ask? -
New Installer painfully slow
j.sabo12 replied to Frogfoot1606687865's topic in Installation Problems
It's d/ling at a rate of 100kb/s to about 1 mb/s, manageable I would say, but probably wouldn't be too keen on it for a large module such as the NTTR. To all those guys complaining, why don't you go have a coffee, have a bath, call your mum, spend time with your girlfriend/wife/boyfriend/husband, go for a walk, do whatever you enjoy :) This really isn't the end of the world :D It's an open beta.. -
Where to learn basic flight manouvre?
j.sabo12 replied to kharasho's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
The MiG-21 flight manual has some very nice descriptions of tactics and maneuvers. -
Obviously I'm a month behind everybody else. Thank you! :)

And just to help clarify. The pages are 'kind of' there, but there's a battery loading page instead.

It does happen for me, but nowhere near as it does with the Mi-8. :)

Sorry if this isn't the correct place for this post, but I only used it with the MiG-21. Before upgrading to 1.5, whenever I made a quick mission in the mission builder with waypoints for myself, in the mission, these would be available to see on the kneeboard pages, without the need to go into F10 view. But in 1.5 these pages disappeared. Does anyone else have a similar problem and/or know of a solution to get the waypoints on the kneeboard? Thanks for your help :)

[ame] [/ame] It can also be seen well in this video, although it's not exactly your standard take off. :) The L-39, although it is very easy to fly, is difficult to master and fly exceptionally well by the numbers.

I'm having some slight issues in DCS with the slider on the throttle on the X-52. For all my flight sims, I use the slider as a zoom control. (i.e. move it to the left to zoom in and vise versa). It works perfectly in Il-2, Aerofly, ARMA, etc etc. It also works in DCS, but with a slight problem. It's too sensitive. This means that at some zoom settings, the sim picks up infinitesimally small movements and the result is very fast zooming in and out. Not even the controller panel picks it up how DCS does. I know that the simple answer is to get trackir. I'm working on that :pilotfly: For the time being, is there a way to decrease the sensitivity of an axis?

I find the Su-25A more of a challenge and fun to fly than the Su-25T, but I might be the only one. While the Su-25T everything is more clinical, in the Su-25A, more depends on pilot skill.

Just tried out the new L-39! It's an absolute marvel :) One thing that was slightly disappointing however, (apart from the trim hat, which was mentioned already) was the tactical numbers on the Czech Air Force skins. The Czech and Slovak Air Forces always use 4 digit tactical numbers, from the last 4 digits of the serial number of the aircraft :) Thank you once again for an amazing module!!!

Second that. Also, for me, I had to change the controls from the menu, not from in-flight. Beautiful aircraft though

Take an Albatros for a tour of Vegas. Test it's close air support capability on the pyramid.

Leatherneck Simulations Mini-Update - SEPTEMBER 2015
j.sabo12 replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
"Unique propulsion"? Could this possibly mean thrust vectoring? -
What I have found with landing is not to cut the throttle completely when leveling out above the runway. Of course, reduce the throttle, but not to more than 20% or so and just fly down the runway. The thrust reduction will cause you to slow down. If you cut the throttle completely, then you either descend too fast or straight out stall which leads to crashes.

I tend to fly the Sukhoi more, just because I'm more of a fan of Eastern technology. That doesn't mean that I never take the F-15 for a spin though, and I think it's excellent also. As far as learning to train on them, both are FC3 level, which means that the avionics are simplified, and once you learn the keyboard shortcuts / joystick assignm ents for one, you will find that the vast majority are the same for both planes. It boils down to which one you prefer and the style of fighting you want to take part in. The F-15 is more of a beyond visual range fighter with its active AMRAAM missiles, while the Su-27 has complete supremacy under 10km thanks to its maneuverability, and you can use the helmet mounted sight and R-73 missiles, which are superior to the sidewinder.

PRE-PURCHASE DCS: L-39 ALBATROS Discussion Thread
j.sabo12 replied to terence44's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Ano :) Yes they are, hopefully we might also get the Slovak CM and ZAM sometime, possibly some Reno air race modified ones :) -
Try to minimize the use of the R-60's as people have mentioned previously. Although I'm not too sure about the historical accuracy, I always achieve a very high hit rate with the R-3 missile, even against maneuvering modern fighters. Having the radar in standby until just before the anticipated launch doesn't unnecessarily alert them too early, which gives you the element of surprise.

First you have to make sure that the two SPRD switches on the right horizontal panel are on. There is a small cover switch next to the throttle, make sure that the cover is up. To release chaff/flares, press the button. I have this button mapped to a button on the throttle.
-
Still a better effort than the 'MiG-28' ;)
-
I'm not sure if there are two separate systems, but the recovery mode, once it recovers from an unusual attitude holds the altitude at which it was when the system was activated. I would also be interested in a more thorough answer though.

I think that the name of the control in the dcs options is the 'release weapon' or 'weapon release' But also make sure that the weapons systems are powered up on the right vertical panel and the corresponding rack/missile type is selected.
