  2. If you're interested, check out JG-1 Fritz Schmenkel: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=256192 While we often fly more modern aircraft in events, our core focus is on the MiGs and aircraft of the 1950s through the 1970s. Definitely let me know if you have any questions.
  3. Hi IL2TOBIAS, JG-1 is definitely active and also actively recruiting. We're actually flying in the finals for Operation Meltdown this weekend. If you're interested in checking us out, here is a link to our DCS squadron website: https://jg1.org/schmenkel Additionally, you can stop by our forums and fill out a recruitment application: https://forum.jg1.org/forum/92-jg1-recruitment/ We have both North American and European members, so most timezones are covered. Hope this helps!
  4. Thanks Maverick! Was excellent fun.

  6. In OpenBeta, I've been having this same issue. Edit an aircraft of one type, let's say a MiG-21bis. No problem. Click on another aircraft of another type to edit (perhaps a L-39C). Fine. Then click back to original MiG-21bis, and it's now labelled as an L-39C. The bug also appears to reset paint schemes. Interestingly enough, I saved my mission file in OpenBeta, brought it over to the Release version and attempted to edit it there, and got the same bug. So it might be something that negatively impacts the mission file itself.
  7. All, While our website is being updated, people can find us on our forums: https://jg1.org/schmenkel/
  8. Hi Sarpalaxan, Thanks for the interest! Our European pilots meet on Tuesdays at 8:00PM CET. Our North American pilots meet on Fridays at 10:30PM EST. And when possible, we all meet together (usually on weekends). Obviously, real life always comes first. So we don't expect people to be around all the time. However, we do ask people be actively involved in the group, as the squadron is designed to be competitive. We actively fly against other squadrons online and in tournament events, and thus need to train together. Generally, we're pretty strict about people belonging to two groups simultaneously. Unless given special dispensation, we frown upon it, as it's a conflict of interest and scheduling. However, we can make exceptions on a case by case basis. If you're interested in the squadron's code of conduct rules, you can find a copy of it here on our WW2 website: https://jg1.org/schmenkel/dicta/ We're still in the process of constructing our Cold War-era website, so I apologize for the era jump. Hope this helps!
  9. Jagdfliegergeschwader 1 (JG-1) "Fritz Schmenkel" is still recruiting! Stop by our forums and fill out an application. Oblt. Johann "Jonne" Engel (551) and Ult. Matthäus Erhardt (431), on patrol.
  10. JG-1 “Fritz Schmenkel” is a serious-minded virtual squadron. Virtual JG-1 has a long and distinguished history. Our parent organization was established in March 1992 as a “Red Baron Online” group. We are one of the oldest virtual squadrons currently active on the internet. In 2022, we celebrated our 30th Anniversary. JG-1 “Fritz Schmenkel” is composed of three squadrons: 1. Jagdstaffel (1.JS) - North American-based 2. Jagdstaffel (2.JS) - European-based 3. Jagdstaffel (3.JS) - Active Reserves JG-1 “Fritz Schmenkel” is a dedicated REDFOR fighter wing. We focus on Cold War aircraft, specifically those flown by the East German and Warsaw Pact air forces. However, we do also fly non-Warsaw Pact aircraft that are commonly found on REDFOR teams. Our primary aircraft are: MiG-21bis Fishbed MiG-19P Farmer MiG-15bis Mi-8MTV2 Hip Mi-24P Hind Su-25/T Frogfoot L-39C/ZA Albatros We also fly: F-4E Phantom II F-5E Tiger II F-14A/B Tomcat JF-17 Thunder Mirage 2000C Mirage F1 MiG-29 Fulcrum Su-27 Flanker Su-33 Flanker-D Check us out at the following locations: Website: https://jg1.org/schmenkel/ Discord: https://discord.gg/SM6Uk5XuJ2
  11. Hi Tiger, I think you may have posted the roster for Top Gun Viper Sniper in the Red Flag thread.
  12. Hi Cgjunk2, you can deploy the drag chute by hitting the assigned key, or pushing the button in the cockpit. However, to release it, you must flip open the cover of the release button. The assigned key won't work unless the cover is up. Hope this helps!

  14. Thanks BvM! It was great flying with you guys in this event. We had a really great time coordinating with your flight. Now we just need to make this a regular thing. :)
  15. Okay, I've been able to fix this, thanks to Oculus support. So, just go here, and grab OculusSetup.exe: https://www.oculus.com/setup/ Hope this helps others.
  16. Scratch that. Just happened again. Oh well. Back to the drawing board.
  17. An update. I contacted Oculus support, and they asked if I had tried the Scroll Lock crash while using Rift Core 2.0 Beta. I realized that I had never given that a shot. After opting in to the Rift Core 2.0 Beta (found in Settings > Beta), I've found that the Scroll Lock crash no longer seems to happen for me. Which is great! I have no idea why, but this is good news. I'm still in contact with them, and will report back when I have more information. But in the short term, try the Core 2.0 Beta and let me know your findings.
  18. I have the same issue with Scroll Lock, which is unfortunate as I use that key for push-to-talk on TeamSpeak and Discord. It seems to have started with the last update to Oculus (ver. 1.30.0), but I see nothing about it in the update notes.
  19. We're spread out as well. About 50/50 between East and West coast.
  20. Hi f86, There are two groups within our squadron - one is English-speaking, and flies during the North American timezones. The second is Slovak / Czech, and flies during the Central European timezone. Within the English-speaking North American group, we have pilots of all skill levels. Some are very good with the MiG-21. Others are still learning. Mostly, the North American group practices on Fridays around 9PM EDT. However we also get together throughout the week. Because of the varying skill levels currently within the group, we mostly do direct-connect missions to bring everyone up to speed. However, we also jump onto the 104th server from time to time. I'll have to check out the 77th server. :) Hope this helps!
  21. If you guys are interested in a MiG-21 squadron, definitely check out JG-1. http://forums.eagle.ru/group.php?groupid=147 We have a good group of guys.
  22. Jagdfliegergeschwader 1 "Fritz Schmenkel" (JG-1) is a seriously minded online cyber-squadron. Established in March 1992, we are the second oldest cyber-squadron active on the internet. JG-1 Fritz Schmenkel is currently flying DCS World, specifically the MiG-21bis. We also fly DCS: WWII and IL-2: Cliffs of Dover, as JG 1 "Oesau", and Rise of Flight as JG I "Richthofen".
