Thanks Scott!

No no, actually your very old post got me thinking about that whole FC discussion. Quoted your post mainly because I would like to know what you were going to say. It's a bit funny though... you were thinking about this possibility six years ago. Our opinions diverge on this. But I respect ED's decision and reasoning behind it. I know it's not for me. I got a bit afraid about it, and that's about it... Keep in mind that when I said rip off, I didn't mean anything bad, but just a copy with a lower quality in terms of systems (That's what FC is about). No reason to be mad at me tbh... (I still have a hard time trying to understand why you got so mad though).

Check the T.O, the DCS: F-86F Manual doesn't seem to mention maximum landing weight. I don't have the F-86's manual here so I can't do that for you. But the Max takeoff weight is 20,611 lbs (9,348 kg) as Paganus said above. I think as long as you keep it below that, it shouldn't be a problem.
-
That's funny... from my understanding that's exactly what ED is going to do based on your comment that you posted a few days ago regarding the new FC modules. No? I always said that. And I still believe that's the case, especially considering everything ED has achieved throughout the years. Although I understand the marketing reason behind it. Not gonna lie, this is a very old post. But it's interesting to see the past and see how things are nowadays.

The carburetor is equipped with a return line, any vapor in it should come back to the left tank. So make sure you're always burning the fuel from the left tank on taxi/takeoff. Take a look at page 36 of the manual, there is some great info there.

Pedal brakes don't hold at full RPM
Vitormouraa replied to irfanahmed1979's topic in DCS: F-86F Sabre
Oh yeah, make sure you can always reach full deflection, or in this case, 100% brakes applied. -
Skate made a chrome bug some time ago... it looked cool :D

Pedal brakes don't hold at full RPM
Vitormouraa replied to irfanahmed1979's topic in DCS: F-86F Sabre
The wheel brakes can hold the aircraft at MAX THRUST depending on the weather conditions and gross weight. Generally speaking, if the temperature isn't too low and your internal fuel is close to 100%, you'll be able to hold the aircraft on the ground even if the throttle is all the forward. My tip is; Hold the toe brakes, push the throttle slowly to ~80% while watching the tachometer and EGT gauges in order to not over speed/overheat, and then release the brakes, applying full thrust. -

Yes, what's the OATC (Outside air temperature in Celcius) and your gross weight? -
Eh... what? What you're saying doesn't make any sense to me. Being dirty or not, the cockpit layout is still the same, switches aren't going to change position. It's just dirty, it doesn't make any difference. The aesthetics of the cockpit? sure, but the fact that it's dirty won't affect your learning curve at all. I agree with the Clean and dirty options, but expecting the devs to make three options as described is just too much. Every module should come with a decent cockpit. If the excess of a dirty factor or lack of it bothers you, it's not that hard to make a mod and remove it. As long as it's realistic, I don't see a problem at all. Have you ever seen a Viper cockpit in Afghanistan? it's full of dirt.

Removing Wing pylons From F/A-18C Lot 20?
Vitormouraa replied to IvanK's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
So how is ED going to fix that once this option to remove pylons are implemented officially? I guess the most obvious answer is adding the necessary arguments? -
So apparently, according to ED, drag is correct.

They are kind of hilarious lol

This seems to be too extreme, especially in flight, but then again it's W.I.P. Are you using split throttle? A small desync between engines must be expected. Unless the other nozzle is taking too long to close/open, then it would probably be a bug or damage of some sort. But looking at an image, we can't say much.

From an engineer perspective, I am not entirely sure, maybe it's a limitation of the system? The Super Hornet can show a fuel flow up to 99k. IFEI in the Legacy Hornet can only show up to 15k. Regardless though, knowing how much your AB + Core are burning is really useful IMHO!
-
Yeah I was trying to simply it. But yeah before the flame holder. But you get it. There is no AB fuel flow indication in the cockpit, so the only thing you'll be looking at is the nozzles.
-
Isn't the Viper limited by the canopy temperature? Certainly looks awesome and has the best visibility, but it must be very complex to make.
-
Yeah, in reality, they are the same thing. Just look at the Hornet, it has an EGT gauge. But sometimes I call it "ITT" (Interstage turbine temperature) and people get confused. They are actually the same thing, same as the A-10, F-15, Su-27/33 and so on. It measures the temperature between turbines. So other day I explained to a guy on Reddit that using AB or not, the temperature will remain the same. Because the thermocouple is measuring the temperature at the T5 position, which is before the AB combustion chamber. Unless the nozzles get jammed when AB is on, the temperature will not change, and RPM as well. The IFEI (Integrated Fuel and Engine Indicator) will not show AB fuel flow, so the only way to see if you're using AB is either Nozzles, which will open in order to not overheat the engines (excessive backpressure) and/or speed increasing depending on the situation and sounds from the exhaust. But yeah they have different acronyms but in many cases, they mean the same thing.

Do I speak Spanish? not really, I understand it though, it's very similar to Portuguese (my mother language). Oh, yeah I heard he saying "Digital engine Control", but I thought it was DEEC for both PW and GE engines, I didn't know they had different names for each individual engine. Thanks for letting me know! Beautiful engine anyway...
-
He was talking about the compressor, main combustor, and AB combustor. He explained how the DEEC controls the nozzle, flame, compressor IGVs etc. The engine also powers a few systems of the aircraft such as the electrical system, hydraulic and so on. Oh, and he also talked about hydrazine, dangerous stuff! :D

Thanks Skate, nice job as always! Not sure if you're looking for a feedback but, I think if you could remove the purple color from the GUI it would look better. This color gets too much attention, especially when you have a grey background. Extending out a similar color, or even the grey itself to the bottom right would be a good idea I guess. Or if you're looking to replace the purple, a less 'flashy' color would be great. Purple in my humble opinion doesn't really match the rest of the program's interface.
