  1. The fact that the HUD is sometimes blurred out doesn't mean the HUD symbologies are classified, but the information presented in it is. For example, sometimes you see planes doing gun runs, and normally some of the information on the HUD is blurred out. I spoke to a Navy pilot and he said they don't want to show how they do the gun runs. Pitch attitude, Mach number, and others.
  2. I gotta find more stuff to post here. It's been kinda silent. I thought we would have more discussions about the topic.
  3. What do you guys think about this? I love it!
  4. Who needs it anyway, Hornet all the way :D (Joking)
  5. Where's the hype train this time? :D
  6. Good stuff! Well done ED!
  7. As many pointed out, you don't need the ailerons to take off and keep yourself in the air, you also have the elevators and rudders which can work together in order to roll left or right. It's quite funny to see this kind of stuff actually. :)
  8. Yeah I thought this PDF was official. Thanks for letting me know. I did not know we had performance charts for the R8MB either. Funny how the SFC remains pretty much the same at all times.
  9. Please check the PDF out in the attachments. Take a look at Page 19, table 4, Mach 1.1. viggen_final.pdf
  10. It actually can... but you can only mount TALDs on the BRU-42 TER. IMHO the VER is so much better, yes, you'd carry 2 instead of 3, but it's not draggy as the TER. Hornet itself is already pretty draggy. Mounting a TER with 3 bombs on it wouldn't be interesting (although it's not an option). But you'll have MER and VER. Which is pretty cool too!
  11. Why did I miss this thread... very cool discussion. I have a PDF here about the Jaktviggen and looks like the RM8B produces around 203kN (45,740 lbf) at Mach 1.1. This is ridiculous! Just like the FF, 115,265 lb/h. The Viggen intake system works really well at transonic speeds, especially at .9 and 1.1. Very impressive how the airframe is able to do that. Ram recovery is certainly very well used here. About the F110 Fuel flow, at sea level, standard day conditions, the F110-GE-400 (based on -100) producing a thrust of 26,950 (static thrust), it has an SFC of 2.104 lbs/lbf/h. Which gives me a fuel flow of 56,702 lb/h. The RM8A at Mach 1.1, sea level, shouldn't it make around 160 kN instead?
  12. Yup. Reading the manual is important :D
  13. Yes, exactly. What zhukov said is very important. Without strong evidences, we can't really help you, nor ED. Feeling can change quite a bit from time to time.
  14. Yes, temperature, altitude, and pressure affect the thrust. Could you please tell me the atmospheric conditions of your mission? And map as well.
  15. Everything is subject to change. Take a look at the official armament thread. All the early access stuff is there.
  16. HB's updates are fantastic. I don't understand why the complaints.
  17. Yea. I have an immense respect for Heatblur and Cobra himself (Extremely competent people). But he's not very good with ETAs.
  18. From that point of view, yes but in terms of performance there is a huge difference. :)
  19. I should have explained a bit more... I was talking about the moon light :)
  20. So the Moon is back? NICE!
  21. Yeah the Fullback looks amazing. Glad to see the blue afterburner. Although the plume and the reflections on the fuselage are still yellow. The blue flame is a characteristic of the russian engines. Due to a higher amount of oxygen and higher temps too. But one thing I'd love to see is true shock diamonds and dynamic afterburner (hopefully NL will pass this along :D)
  22. True. That's something I've been trying to do. But I just love the theory behind it. Love sharing it and learning too :)
  23. Yeah but there are a lot of talented people here with a ton of knowledge cich. I happen to be very pleased with people here. I learn a lot. Glad to be part of this community. Although sometimes I would like to unsee what I have seen :D
