Thanks A lot! That tutorial was just what I needed. Got it configured first try.

Hoping you can help me out also! I'm trying to turn two bare bones 7"LCD's into my MFD's. I used your post, and it helped me to get things almost dialed in. Still having issues with the screens though. They're cropped, and the main monitor has 2" bars on either side, which is from the MFD screens. Is there a way to reduce the size of the LCD screens to a point they'll be all the way on their own screens? And hopefully get the MFD images down enough so they're not cut off? I appreciate any help you may have for me. Also included my settings so far. Thanks _ = function(p) return p; end; name = _('MFCD'); Description = 'Left MFCD on the left monitor,Right MFCD on the right and camera on the center' Viewports = { Center = { x = screen.width / 3.5; y = 0; width = screen.width / 2.7; height = screen.height; viewDx = 0; viewDy = 0; aspect = screen.aspect / 1.4; } } LEFT_MFCD = { x = 10; y = 10; width = screen.width / 6; height = screen.height; } RIGHT_MFCD = { x = screen.width *(3 / 4); y = 20; width = screen.width / 6; height = screen.height; } UIMainView = Viewports.Center https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=150773&d=1477712165

My understanding was Boeing was so efficient with Super Hornet production the navy pushed up the retirement date for tomcats by a few years. I was in the Navy in Lemoore in the early 2000's. 01-09. It was amazing to see how quick squadrons were being upgraded.

I plan on contacting lulu.com tomorrow to see if I can't have an F-5 manual made up. Hoping for something like this: http://www.lulu.com/shop/eagle-dynamics/dcs-a-10c-warthog-manual/paperback/product-20469424.html

I tried a print shop before with another sim and they wouldn't do it due to possible copyrights. Had they been able to it wouldn't of been bound, with a decent cover or anything. If you look at the lulu site the manuals are bound, look really good, and mine only cost around 30 bucks or so. They rival the huge books you'd get with the 90's sims. I know the tomcat and hornet manuals are going to be beasts, and it would be nice to thumb through the book while trying to get things to work as advertised in sim.

A while back I purchased a paperback flight manual for the A-10 from lulu.com. They have a few modules on there, but not the F-5. I found it way easier to read and learn the jet with a book vs. the .PDF. As these modules become more complex it would be nice to have the option to buy a manual for reference. I'd love to see the module designers at least give us an option to purchase the manual if possible, even through a third party. Is that something that could be realistically done? I know manuals are a thing of the past, due to cost, but I personally wouldn't mind paying an extra 30 bucks or so to have a book to read, take notes in, ect. Thanks

That's awesome. Spoils of war. Too bad they couldn't get the spares needed to keep them flying.

Is it reasonable for the F-14 to be finished in 2016?

I'm wondering how easy it will be for one person to not only fly it, but run the RIO stuff. Wonder if there'll be an AI RIO option. -

I was just sitting here when I had a random thought. There's tons of pictures out there of American fighters dressed up like SU-27's and Mig-29's. Are there aggressor squadrons in Russia that have aircraft disguised as American jets? Does anybody have pictures of Russian Aircraft wearing Western schemes?

There are a ton of factors that play into refueling and defueling an aircraft. No two jets are alike, just like no two fuel trucks, or fuel pits are alike. Some jets, due to age and other factors can be slower at refueling. As far defueling goes there's also factors there, for example. If you bring a navy jet back to the ship, and it just refuelled from an airforce tanker, you can forget about defueling it, or even putting it in the hanger. JP-8 is more volatile than JP-5, therefore you'll have to spin the engines up, and burn the fuel out, if it's scheduled to go to the hanger. You can't pump jp-8 back into the ship's fuel supply, due to possibly making the entire stock more explosive. After you burn the fuel out you refuel it, to further dilute the JP-8, and the flash point is tested again. If it's still too volatile you repeat the process. That can take hours if you need to burn off a few thousand pounds, especially if flight ops are going on and the deck boss won't let you go above idle because of it, you're talking 420-700 pounds-per-hour (per engine) at idle, vs. about 2000 pounds per hour at 80% N2 which was the highest we cold run the engines without rigging it for a high power turn. Being deployed away from your main base also causes issues when it comes to even basic maintenance. Sometimes parts are scarce, so even a simple maintenance task can take hours, if not days due to a lack of spare parts. Sometimes the only option is to rob a jet that's hard down to keep the rest of the jets flying. When major issues, like combat damage, come into play your only option may be to just hanger the jet and rob what parts you can. In real life you may have to fly in tech reps from the company that built the jet (being that you may now have structural issues to go along with your electrical and mechanical ones) to determine if it's repairable on station. If not the thing may get packed up and shipped home on a transport. When I was in the navy we had a jet that was damaged beyond our repair capabilities on the ship. We stuck it in a corner, used it for parts, and craned it off when we got back home so it could go to the maintenance depot. While this is probably the most realistic simulator out there, there's things that just aren't going to be modeled because it won't bring anything to the experience.

New Rudder Pedals by Thrustmaster announced
sideshow replied to 5e EVC Chappy's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Those crosswinds look awesome, have you tried them? I've been using Saitek's for the past couple years. They fell apart because the spacer and pin were never installed at the bottom of the tension wheel. They were out of warranty when this happened, so I had to rig something up with a cotter pin. I'd shell out the cash for the right pedals. -

It would be nice to see someone come out with a decent set of pedals. Unfortunately I don't think those are it. -
Thanks. I haven't flown this module in months, and just decided to get back into it last night.

I don't have any engine sound on external views since the last Open Alpha update. In F10 view it show's my engine at 0% and no sound. However, the engine sound works inside the cockpit. Anyone else having this issue?

I second that. The F-16 is the perfect all around fighter for DCS.

I actually did a few laps at low altitude in the Huey. Couldn't keep up with the cars though.
