Thanks Tri, found it on page 11-9 of the extended manual as part of the "Automatic Ingress to Target" procedure. Very useful!
-
Is that procedure anywhere in the manual? Couldn't find it last night

Thanks for pointing that EECH guide out Ruprecht! Would be awesome if we could have the same for DCS!

Thats rubbish! I bought a GTX285 a couple of month ago and four weeks ago it decided not to talk with my screen anymore. So I had to send the card back and wait for the replacement - two weeks of waiting around :( Hope you are more lucky!

Wow, nice setup miguez! Have fun setting it up!
-
Good question, I wondered that last time I watched the training video of miguez.

You could see your groundcrew walking up maybe? Or soldiers that actually move when you shoot at them? That's at least what I hope it means :)

Nice one!

Maximizing Performance on triple monitor setup
Tbag replied to sinelnic's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Is there any hope that the resolution can be increased to support 3x 1920x1200 in the future? From what I understand Triple Head 2 Go is limited by the bandwith of dual DVI to 3x1680x1050. P.S.: How can i find out if I can run my Monitor (SM2693HM 26") @57Hz and 1680x1050 resolution? -
You're very welcome. If you need a beta-tester for your tutorials...... :D

Good point Martillo, I'd like to know that as well!

Hey miguez, one question I have concerning your start-up video: In the manual, after the Rotor RPM readjustment check, there is the flight controls and hydraulic systems check. Is there a particular reason why this is not included in the video?

Very interesting information here! I'd really like if such information could be kept in a wiki or the like.

While trying to get to grips with the Data link system I quickly found that I cannot consider this system on its own since it interfaces with many other systems. That's no big surprise since it is part of the PrPNK system but I find it very hard to understand the linkages between the systems. The information on the PrPNK is spread over the whole manual and I would like to attempt to get a more compact overview over it's components. Also I'd like to close some gaps which I couldn't close by reading the manual. Excuse me if I come to wrong conclusions or have overseen information in the manual. The first thing I want to talk about are the different computers directly involved in target aquisition and their limitations. From what I understand, I have two different memory locations within the PrPNK for navigation and target data. In one location (read computer memory) my PNK-800 (Which is only the navigation system!?) can store: - 6 navigation points - 4 INU reference points - 2 airfield coordinates - 10 Target points This memory location is directly accessed using the PVI-800 control pannel and I would assume that the data is stored on TzVM-N ( “Computer-N”). In another location (read computer memory again) I can store target data using my data link equipment. This storage is limeted to 4 items of each kind (Vehicle, Sam, Other, initial) which results in a maximum of 16 target coordinates for the data link system. I would assume that this data is stored on the data link targeting TzVM-Tz ( “Computer-T”). Now my questions: 1. Are my assumptions about the storage locations correct ( I guess not because then the data would not be redundant) 2. Which systems can access what data? The Waypoints are stored into the ABRIS and PNK seperately (usually before mission start) as far as I understand. But when I choose a target point with the PVI-800, the Abris surely knows about it because the target point is flashing. Also if I aquire a target point using the Shkval and the PVI-800, it gets stored on the ABRIS as well. 3. When I use the Weapon System mode selector dial on the Targeting mode control pannel and switch it to "Backup navigation tasks on the combat computer" or "Backup combat tasks on the navigation computer", what functions are still available afterwards? I know some of the questions sound academic but I feel that it is easier to remember procedures when I know how the systems really work. Any input would be very welcome!

I wonder if this is going to be for DCS: :D

I can't wait to get my hand on one of your final tracks considering how good your "first draft" already is. In depth system explanations, safety procedurres,....mhhhhhh, masochist paradise! :D

Just wanted to recommend RC simulations, delivery was very quick and the postage&packaging charges were relatively low.

Not very likely that we see the KA-52 anytime soon in DCS Ebodee. I guess confidentiality issues are the main problem with that beast. But I hope to see the Hind as soon as possible too :)

Well done, great mod! Would love to see that in the patch!

Don't mean to be a smart@rse but found some small errors in the German version. Some things I changed are probably a matter of taste so take them as suggestions :) I hope that is ok with you Dragon.
