  1. The internal cockpit view should have damage modeling, as well as the pilot and crew bodies. When you crash, you should hear the screams of your crew if any, get hit in the face with half the instruments in the panel, watch the cockpit deforming and distorting as flames erupt, and see airplane parts and blood and guts and snot and poop flying around, your arm over here, your gizzard over there, the whole thing a revolting mess. Then the camera should slowly fade to black. It would be great in VR!
  2. Great video! Thanks for the link to that channel, @Evoman!
  3. Yeah! A Fitter is good! I have almost every module for DCS, all the helicopters, all the MiGs, as well as all the US tin. I still need the Mirage F1 and the I-16, among a few others, but I'll get there. The aircraft that @bies lists would all be welcome additions. These days, I mostly fly the Mi-24P. I fly with a Pro-flight Trainer Puma set of helicopter controls, and I've been really racking up the hours in the Hind. A Kola Peninsula map is good. I wonder how far south it will extend? I need to pick up South Atlantic, but aside from that I've got all the maps. I like doing carrier ops in the F/A-18C as well. But the, "Warsaw Pact" stuff really appeals to me. I'd especially love to get my hands on an Su-15, which is, to me anyway, a very beautiful aircraft. And the Ka-26? Oh yeah, I'd surely like to fly the bread box!
  4. Things happen, plans go awry, but whenever this module is released, I'll be happy to add it to my DCS helicopter collection.
  5. I have both DCS World and Steel Beasts Pro PE. But I would love to see CA get more attention. And more helicopters and CAS aircraft for DCS.
  6. We need more Soviet/RF aircraft, especially helicopters. I'd like an Su-15 and an Su-7B. I'd also like a Ka-26, and variants thereof. A Ka-52. An Su-24 would be good. And a full on Su-25 variant would be nice. On the Mikoyan side, a MiG-25 would be very welcome. And a MiG-31. Then there's the Tu-22M3. And so on. Finally, more Russian and Russian-related maps. On the other side of the aisle, a Cobra would be great. That is all. Carry on.
  7. VA-93, VA-56, VA-147, please.
  8. If I get a couple of skins for my favorite granfalloons, I'll be happy. Then I can wage war on the "other". Even if I don't I'll still be happy, because it's a helicopter and I get to fly it. A while back, I spent the money for actual helicopter controls. Ouch! But I'm kind of serious about my love of helicopters, so I consider it a worthwhile investment in the hobby. All DCS helicopters are automatic, high priority purchases for me. I expect that it won't be long after release before our talented community skin artists have set to work, and not long after we'll have all sorts of skin choices available.
  9. It's not my fault! Wormtongue threw it down. I wouldn't have looked in it if he hadn't have thrown it down!
  10. I've just gazed into the palantir. Expect the Hind on May 28th.
  11. Airland info at Helisimmer. There's a link to everything that I know.
  12. I use the Pro Flight Trainer Puma with optional toe-brake mod and high resolution circuit board, and Oculus Rift S or HTC Vive Pro (I have both headsets). I like the three-way switch on the Puma collective, as it gives you three tiers of button assignments with the flick of a switch. It's a minor thing, but I also like the centering block for the cyclic. You don't have to eyeball center when calibrating. The anti-torque pedals are smooth and nice, and the whole Puma setup is well made, with attention to detail. The entire unit plugs into my PC with a single USB connection. I use an adjustable, light office chair with mesh back and seat cushion. It can be adjusted very low. The wheels fit just right inside the base frame of the Puma so I don't roll. I have the Puma adjusted so the cyclic and collective stay where I put them, but don't have much resistance when flying. The toe-brake mod makes flying a lot of other aircraft work well, such as warbirds with the cyclic and pedals, plus my two throttle quadrants. I also have a yoke, a jet-style joystick, and fixed wing rudder pedals. But my primary sim focus is flying helicopters in DCS World, X-Plane 11, and Aerofly FS 2. Waiting for word on "Airland". And I pre-ordered the Mi-24P for DCS World the other day, so I own all DCS World helicopters (and most of the other modules as well). It's a good hobby and gives an old, retired military guy like me something to do besides chores around the ranch.
  13. I've been playing the, "How close to the edge can I walk before the ground crumbles beneath my feet and I fall to my death?" game. But I didn't want to lose the pre-order discount, and the release of 2.7 spooked me. So I pre-ordered. Better safe than sorry.
  14. Attempting to communicate the real world reality of VRS around here is an exercise in futility. They've read books and seen YouTube videos. Thousands of hours of real world flight time and experience are no match for books and YouTube videos around here. I invite your attention to any of the DCS helicopter forums. I gaze in wonder at the pages, as people who have never flown a helicopter, and who don't even possess actual helicopter-style controls with which to fly the helicopters in the sim, pontificate on the fine points of rotary aviation and helicopter flight dynamics. As an old retired military fellow myself, with many years of real world aviation experience, I've learned to just laugh and ignore the drivel. And I strictly avoid offering advice or information. If others choose to do so, that's fine. I know when to pay attention and when to roll my eyes and walk away in these discussions. Unfortunately, there are notable cases where the incessantly bellowed, rude, truculent BS offered by the armchair experts has been magically transmogrified by constant repetition into "ultimate truth". When that happens, we all suffer. I can only hope that the developers know when to listen and when to ignore.
  15. Even though the BO-105 is not common or well known on this side of the planet, I'm aware of them and will definitely be purchasing this module as soon as it's released.
