  1. Any update??? Anything... It's been over two weeks since this post and has been broken for months before that.
  2. Yes, this needs to be fixed bad. After all this time and the Spitfire has now been removed from all DCS multiplayer servers and the mass kicks have stopped on those servers. We have been patient and waited years for these planes, payed for them, dealt with all the development bugs and now we get nothing. Not even a response from DCS. This bug was in Alpha version for some time and was never fixed and then it was transferred right over to 2.5. In my opinion everyone who has payed for the Spitfire (including myself) has now been ripped off. Bugs are one thing.....but when you are not even able to have a plane on the servers or it kills the entire server is just beyond ridiculous. I'm aware of all the development that is done by DCS for all of the modules they need to work on. But at some point the question of "are you biting off more then you can chew" needs to be raised. We are over here paying $60 for individual modules that basically never get fixed and never made stable. You can only use the excuse of needing to do other work for so long. If the excuse is that you guys never have the needed time to fix the modules you make then maybe they should stop developing all of the new stuff until you actually fix the stuff that all of us already payed for. We get hit with update adds to purchase a single F-18 for a bargain of $60 instead of the ridiculous $80 that is is going to be but do we ever see any info about fixing the planes we already payed for? No instead you just keep trying to sell us more and more. The only thing we ever see updates on are products that will cost us money. New damage model was talked about how long ago now and nothing. But look there are more unfinished planes to spend money on. Oh look another map that costs money but our planes still don't get fixed....well of course they don't, we already payed for those.
  3. Did this just go offline again? I was sitting there looking right at the server and then it disappeared when I tried to join it and now it is gone again.
  4. I have been on this forum looking for a thread that is discussing the nerfing of the air to air missiles that just recently happened. I would like to follow what is going on but have not found an active thread. Does anyone know of one dealing with this? Thanks,
  5. Cool, thanks for the update  Hopefully people will come back, the server going offline like this is killing the amount of people on there. I had to join today via IP address as no matter how many times I refreshed the server would not show up in the list. DCS needs to fix multiplayer BAD!
  6. Looks like the server just went down again when it tried to rotate missions.
  7. Thanks for the reply and info Alpen.
  8. Ya, I was wondering if you are working on the server on Saturdays lately? Seems to be offline quite a while the last couple of Saturdays and then gets hopping on Sunday.
  9. For everyone that like flying on ACG Cold War you should be aware that even with the new patch there are still issues even getting on this server. I'm needing to constantly refresh the server list just to get this server to show up. Sometimes I need to refresh it 3 times before the server will show up and then other times when I know the server is up it still won't show up on the server list.
  10. Thanks for the info. Not that is matters...spent an hour today trying to fly with 1.5.8 crashing every time as soon as I took off. An hour worth if time "gaming" and no flight time. They were certainly able to make this version as crappy as the rest of their versions. And when it doesn't crash it sits on the loading screen with music still playing and will never load and you must force quit the application.
  11. Is the ACG cold war server not currently online? I don't see it in the list and was wondering if possibly it was rolled back a version as some server were. Thanks.
  12. Good catch about this already being documented. However, this is what is so frustrating about how DCS handles updates. Of course, there are going to be bugs and newly written software can't be expected to just work HOWEVER......DCS now has 3 separate versions of their product and there are plenty of dedicated simmers like myself that have installed all 3 versions taking up almost a combined 100Gb of SSD space with Alpha and Beta versions of DCS along side our standard versions only for them to turn around and release super buggy code into the one stable version there is. If you are going to do this then why bother with the Beta version?
  13. I know people want there Harrier but I wish all of the multiplayer server Admins would just role back to the last stable 1.5.7 version and just tell DCS to go pound sand with their updates until they resolve these issues. It's annoying because after spending all the money on NTTR and Normandy only for those maps to constantly crash I went back to 1.5.7 and was finally having fun on a regular basis....can't let that happen. Lets break the only stable version as well.
  14. Ya, this is really bad. SeaQuark it reminds me of that low flying stutter that was in DCS that I showed you how to fix that one time but now it is everywhere in the game. Not just down low. My FPS is fine and as soon as I spawn into a plane in multiplayer the video starts stuttering. They sure know how to kill the one stable version they had going
  15. This latest update is so wack it is not even worth it. DCS literally crashes every time I start it now. DCS has a tendency to say "Not Responding" while it loads and then it works. With this new piece of software that wants to gather info from you, as soon as it does that for even a second the software jumps in and kills the game from ruining. Doens't even have a chance to run.
  16. Just turned back the time and got the update and came here to tell everyone but some else already posted.
  17. Yet it checks against your computers time so it doesn't matter what time it is there. The cert is expired but your were wrong about the date and time. It is December 15th at 4PM
  18. Ya, very lame. I took off work way early to get in some flying today and have been stuck with this issue last couple of hours.
  19. okay, so how do you remove the old certificate.
  20. Hi Lennycutler, I know this is an old post but I was wondering if you might be able to tell me if you did anything to get the missile to "launch"? I'm asking because I created a mod for the F-5E-3 Tiger II to carry 4 Aim-9P5s and they show up on the pylons, in the load outs and visually are perfect. However, I am having trouble getting them to launch and I was hoping you might be able to add some insight. Thanks,
  21. Reflected, While I can appreciate your input, I'm not really sure why your addressing this to me. I have absolutely no problem doing perfect landings in the Spitfire. I do pretty much everything you mention but that is all standard landing directions that you could find in a manual. The guy that posted this seemed to be looking for tips on landing this specific bird from experience....remember, practice, practice, practice. As, I said in my post, all of the standard landing directions have been covered by everyone else on here. I was simply adding in my personal little tricks that I have learned for landing Spitfires in IL2 1946, CLoD and now DCS. I'm not trying to repeat the same procedure as everyone else just add my two cents to the procedure. Also, I never even mentioned having any issues with bouncing. I was speaking about the increased lift of the Spit when flaring in comparison to other war birds on DCS as I know this is an issue for most people trying to learn to land a Spit.
  22. Ya, no problem, glad to help.
  23. Everyone seems to have covered pretty much everything in the answers here but the two "tricks" if you want to call it that I use is this. After learning to land the Stang by gliding in and flairing hard at 90 Mph and the bird stalling onto the runway in a perfect light touch down I tried the same in the spit and it would jump back into the air. So what I have done is when setting up for landing I leave the spit trimmed more nose heavey so that I need to hold the stick back some to keep it in level flight. For me, this extra forward trim has allowed me to flar harder in the spit right at stall speed and still land without just rizing into the air due to all the lift in those big eliptical wings. This also allows me to keep back pressure on the stick as I'm use to without causing the spit to rise back up after landing as well as during the flar. The only other thing I due for the wing tipping on landing is to make sure that during the landing I'm manually putting in right rudder with the pedals and not the trim tab when the engine is throttled back right as I land. This way when I touch down I can just tap the break and it only applies right brake becuase I already have the pedals putting in the right rudder. This has worked a treat for me.
  24. Ya, I'm not 100% on that, I'm just pointing out what the logs show and how the files aren't there. But I'm also not trying to solve this on my own or provide answers why some work but others do not. That's ED's job, not mine. But my biggest problem is just like you stated..."I'm really trying to be patient but it's frustrating not even being able to get 5 minutes of flight time without a hard crash" and also that it is not even being addressesd. At least if they chimed in to tell us were were wrong that would at least mean they are looking at it. To the point of how it works for some but not others, I don't have all the answers but I did notice one key thing. I ran the repair and re-install several times via differnt methods and after one of the repairs I then had some folders named "rdef" show up in the Sound folders that were not there before. It increasesd the stability of my version but it still is happening. What bothers me the most about that change is that I can see no rime or reason why one repair added those folders when the repairs before that did not.
