Snow, Do you have a Spec template with these same settings for the F-86F for DCS 1.5.X? I had awesome chrome before the change in chrome shader on the F-86f but lost it with the upgrade and your chrome is the best I have seen in the newer version. If not can you provide the values for the settings you used so I can try to replicate on my Sabre spec? Thanks, Alpha

1) No one said I was firing 2 1/2 second bursts....I said after firing the guns for 2 1/2 seconds. That is the worst part...it doesn't even need to be a burst, just 2 1/2 seconds of firing the guns in separate bursts. 2) DCS Devs are Russian fan boys....not making the Mig-15 or Sabres doesn't change that.

There is nothing wrong with .50 machine guns especially six of them in real life. The problem is on DCS and most of the idiots that think because other countries have fighters with canons that canons are needed to shoot down fighters. The truth is other countries didn't have the money or resources to build fighters AND interceptors they had to build fighter/interceptors and that is why the needed big canon's to shoot down bombers not other fighters. Because of this, devs seem to think that you need canon's to shoot down fighters and this couldn't be further from the truth. American pilots used .50 not because they were stuck with them but because the preferred them. They provided a lot of ammunition and plenty of firepower for taking out fighters and they never shot at any heavy bombers. If you look at the lua for the Mig-15 and check out the damage area the Mig-15 is uber strong for no apparent reason other then the fact that DCS devs are Russian fan boys. Not to mention the fact that the browning .50s in the DCS F-86F are screwed. They originally but in Browning M2s and not M3s and the fire rate was way below what it should have been. When that was reported they adjusted the fire rate from the M2 rate to the M3 rate but never fixed the heat warping. So now if you fire the Sabre's guns for 2 1/2 seconds the barrels will warp so bad that they are useless for 4 1/2 minutes!!! That is so ridicules. Turn on all tracers (if you know how) and fire the guns for 2 1/2 seconds and then you will see the rounds turn into a huge shot gun pattern that won't do any damage. The rounds need to hit in a tight group to do major damage and that is impossible with the current gun heat problem.

So if I read thius right, this is actualy asking you to create a new file called autoexec.cfg with those two lines as opposed to editing an existing file? I don't have a autoexec.cfg in that directory.

Ya, this polished version of the default skin is my favorite out of your skins, can't wont till you finish this one.

Thanks SkateZilla, these look awesome! I was about to take this route myself and start making a polished skin for the F-86 using the leading edge of the wing on that one skin as a template for the polish. I was hoping I would not need to use custom skins for this effect as this polished effect showed up in the trailer. But according to the other link you posted DCS just removed that skin from the release of the module, so it will have to be custom now.

Now that DCS 1.5 is out I noticed that one of the three skins available for the F-86 by deafult now has the nice shiny reflecting metal on a few places like the leading edge of the wings. However, the rest of the aircraft is still the blan gray color. Does anyone know how to get the full silver skin like in the official f-86 trailer? It looks great that way and I have been hoping to get it ever since the trailer and I now know that DCS 1.5 is able to generate the reflective surface, like I said it is like it's on the leading edges on one of the current skins. I posted this on the facebook page but no one responded, anyone on here have any ideas?

Has anyone else had this issue with the latest patch? My auto radiator setting no longer does anything. I know the tags on the settings may not be correct and I am very familiar with this aircraft, so I know I have the settings correct. I have flown this plane for months with no problems and then after the latest patch you can clearly see the auto setting close the radiator and then stay there no matter what else I do. I have had to start flying and manually controlling the radiator to get it to function at all. This is driving me crazy because it use to work and then a patch seems to have broken it.

How do I disable TIR I have this same issue and I am using trackir5. How do I do this disable you mentioned. I tried disabling the z axis in trackir but that did not work. Any help is greatly appreciated.
