  1. I haven't seen this error so far, and I use the version 2.6.6.0.157 with several games, including both DCS 1.5 and 2.0, without problems. Win10 x64 here.
  2. Thanks for the utility and the source. Very useful.
  3. I'm using the files on 2.0 as well as on 1.5, and they work just fine. I remember that at the first time I tried to find the directories looking into "My Documents", but the correct path is C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\DCS.openalpha. Cheers.
  4. Anyone knows if there's a way to make the external view to orbit the plane, like in CloD?
  5. Hi guys. Is there a way (perhaps with some file editing) to get the outside view controlled by trackir, but slightly diff, i.e., keeping the aircraft Always in the center of the view, only rotating around it? Exactly the same way the mouse does it, but instead of mouse, using trackir. Cheers
  6. The reason that Windows is trying to open your .rar file using Explorer is because you probably doesn't have a RAR or ZIP extractor installed. If I may suggest one, try Bandizip. It works fine with several types of compressed files, and is free (and light and has a nice interface too). If you already has a program "X" capable to handle compressed files (like .rar or .zip files), then you need to "reset" the link between these kinds of files and Explorer. Best way to do this is to right click on the link to download the .rar containing the profiles, "save as" into some folder (to avoid Explorer trying to open it right away) and then right click the file and "open with...", pointing to your program "X", also clicking the "always use this program" option, so Windows remembers it next time. Note: if you download and install Bandizip, it will assign all supported extensions (.zip, .rar, etc) automagically during installation, so you'll just need to double click the file after downloading it and it will open on Bandizip, allowing you to extract contents. Hope it helps. Cheers.
  7. Super Cool Manchu! Thanks a lot.
  8. Also, make sure you disable your AV. I have Bitdefender, and it messes with the updater if I don't set it to "ignore" the .exe before running or simply disable AV during update.
  9. I want the Mig
  10. Count me and my superb skills on painting in! :pilotfly:
  11. No, but the opposite is expected, and this cannot be done right now.
  12. Doh! I feel like a moron now. Of course, I need to "release" the throttle with HOME before being able to move it. Thanks for the tip. What some weeks of DCS abstinence do to our memory... Cheers.
  13. Hi, after the last update 1.2.10.xx I can't start the engine of the Sabre when idle on runway at the start of missions. The throttle doesn't move anymore. I'm currently using Warthog HOTAS and the mapping is ok. It works perfect when air starting or when starting the mission with the engine already on. Is there a new procedure to "unlock" the throttle in this new version? Important: I cannot move the throttle even if I try with the mouse! Cheers.
  14. Thanks outlawal2, I've added your reference to the first post. I think it would be nice to change the title of this thread to something more meaningful now that we have these references all in one place (and quit the poll), but I don't know how. Does someone know? Thanks.
  15. Thanks CaptainPecan for willing to help and c0ff for pointing the place where we can already grab the updaters. Will put the link on the first post to easy things for others looking for the same thing. Cheers!
  16. It is the third time that my DCS_Updater.exe file has become corrupt during the update process. It is the third time that I need to remove all the game and download all the several gigs and reinstall everything, just because there's no way to get the DCS_Updater.exe file ONLY in an official download. Would DCS be kind to provide it for us mortals equipped with Bitdefender AV or bad drivers or whatever which from time to time causes havoc during update process? EDIT: as c0ff pointed out, this file can be obtained here: http://updates.digitalcombatsimulator.com/ EDIT2: referenced by outlawal2, a quick guide from SkateZilla of how to use DCS_Updater (command line) to update/restore the installation: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114030 Yes, I know, I should have made a backup before updating, but still. Cheers.
  17. Hi VJS161_Fire, too bad they are in german (I can't understand a bit, lol). Nice initiative, though. Kudos. Blackbeagle, have you tried this channel on YT?
  18. Same here. Launcher and DCS_updater.exe corrupted, so I can't do anything to get out of this mess unless I remove/reinstall the game. A DCS_updater.exe download would be nice. EDIT: in time, excluding the directory or programs did nothing in my case, I guess the files were really corrupted by BD... it *may* solve the problem IF you don't run the updater before doing this, though.
  19. DCS, give Peter a medal! Thanks, Pete.
  20. Sorry, but not for me. I'm a rl taildragger pilot, and when I press full rudder in some direction and then gently apply power, the plane starts to go to that direction after going forward for a few inches. In P51, if I put the stick forward and start to do a *very gentle* turn to either side, *no matter what I do after*, it will not go to other side, nevermore. It will just stay there doing donuts. I can stop the plane, apply full rudder in the opposite direction, and as soon as I apply power, it will start to continue his previous turn, regardless of my rudder position. Doesn't matter if I put full power or not. In other words, it behaves like I don't have a rudder (no authority at all). I can do several complete donuts applying rudder in the opposite direction, it just doesn't matter, it's "game over". This is unrealistic, IMHO.
  21. Thank you all, guys. Guess I'll give it a shot then when the sales promotion goes live this month. Cheers.
  22. Hi, for those who played FC2 and now owns FC3, I'm trying to figure out if it is worth to buy FC3. I own FC2, but have only played the A10A campaign so far. Now, I also own the A10-C, P-51 and Black Shark modules for DCS World, but was looking into a "quick fix" for jet combat (fighters). My main concern is if I should only reinstall FC2 and play the other aircrafts or if the differences found in FC3 are really worth the extra price/upgrade? For instance, is the F15C the only plane with 6dof in FC3, or all others also have this feature? And what else? Thanks in advance. Tried to find this info in the forum, but couldn't (or maybe my search skills are crap).
  23. Great post, Konrad. Perhaps I should clarify better about the "un"trimmed thing. I was thinking about a "combat trimming". In this scenario, a slightly positive trim is desired (at least for me), because you wanna keep your velocity vector most of the time pointed to the enemy (99% of the time in a curve), and the plane surely felt way more under control in that way. What I did was exactly the "alignment" of the two yellow marks on the trim wheel, thus giving the plane that "nose up" attitude that makes pulling G's more confortable. After reading your post, I think I will map the trim to the slider too. I have it mapped to the mixture (same thing on RoF), but having it mapped to the trim may be better. I still haven't flown higher enough to use mixture settings anyway, and an analog control is better (easier to "feel" the right physical position - i.e. "finger memory" - than having to set something through a button and looking to see if it is at the "right position" on the plane's panel). Your other tips are valuable too. I'm still in my early steps with the P51, but so far it has been rewarding to "discover" these little "tricks". Sorry about my english, not my native tongue.
  24. [sOLVED] P51 way too nervous... what's wrong? THAT DID THE TRICK! Thanks, Konrad. Now I'm able to pull 6/7G, and keep the AI busy. :) For those reading this thread, the plane starts the quick missions "un"trimmed.
  25. Hi Weta. I'm inclined to agree. Thanks for the link, will check the thread.
