  1. Weird. With no mods and just what's listed in my sig my install is 24 Gig.
  2. 50% off on Steam today as well.
  3. I shifted the color value to yellow using the Adjustment Layers in paint. This is the modified original buttons dropped into the English version.
  4. Ah, the English cockpit buttons are here: DCSWorld\Mods\aircraft\Ka-50\Liveries\Cockpit_Ka-50\english
  5. I think the file you're looking for is in /Mods/aircraft/Ka-50/Cockpit/Resources/Model/Textures There's a file called Cockpit-Ka-50 Textures. I unzipped it and it looks like you'll be able to tint the colors you need in there. If you don't have Photoshop the DDS files can be edited with Paint.net Ka-50 buttons.dds has the autopilot buttons.
  6. We almost didn't get any new music out of them after their airplane scare over the holidays. Whew.
  7. It's been mentioned on and off through several posts over the years that people would like to see a plugin for Blender, since the sim doesn't support an open format that can be easily modded. The Blender modding community is significant and this could only be an additional draw for new user content. Heck, KickStart the cost of having a dev port the plugin for Blender. I'd buy in. :)
  8. The books on modeling at airplanes3d by this fellow are quite detailed: http://airplanes3d.net/index_e.html
  9. Cool beans :) Now if I can find a way to load a Ka50 model into Substance Painter it will rock :)
  10. I've been doing searches but haven't found an existing texture template. Access to layers sure would be nice. Created this decal based on the MNU Choppers in District 9. Looking forward to flying the skies with that design :)
  11. Pretty much this whole album will be my flying anthem :)
  12. I decided to record my first attempt in the Ka50, going in cold without having read or watched any instruction. You can skip the last few minutes as that's just me trying to find out how to turn off the engines by looking over the cockpit with the mouse. :D
  13. Will there be PBR Textures in 2.0? Will there be support for PBR Textures, like Substance files, in 2.0? It would be awesome to be able to create procedural grime and damage in texture packs. (And Substance Painter was ridiculously cheap over the Steam sale)
  14. Well this makes a lot more sense now that I know Helios is a panel app instead of the Eclipse IDE version. I couldn't figure out what people were talking about :D
  15. How strange :) I was just going to make the same post about looking for Canadian suppliers. I've been looking at the Canadian site for Digikey and it's overwhelming the choice they have :) Any examples of the Chinese Arduinos on eBay that have been found to be good? Had a friend who dealt in other electronics with Chinese companies and he found that he got ripped off a lot. (But the price savings from the legit places still made up for it when compared to buying from the US)
  16. Yeah, I originally got it for the power of being to handle both emulation and inputs for my arcade panel rather than use a motherboard and jamma setup. I was just going to mount the Beaglebone and Breadboard directly under the controls and put a 17 inch monitor on the controls for a very compact cabinet. But now that I've been bitten by the sim bug again I don't really care about the MAME project any more :) There's lots of great inspiration on here for cockpits and tools. I'll have to check out that DCS-BIOS :)
  17. I can always use the BB for my original project and just use it as a learning experience before picking up Arduinos for the task. I've got enough programming background to know the logic, but not necessarily the syntax. Dabbled in Python, C++, C#. (edit: Oh yeah, Javascript too. Evil language.) As for electronics I had a Radio Shack 150 in 1 kit when I was a kid :P I've hooked up an arcade button to the BB so far and made the LEDs switch on and off when I press it. That's a start :) I didn't see a cape (add-on board) for the BB to allow it to function as a USB device yet though. The Arduinos already have an add-on that will do that, don't they? Goals for the long term will be an A10-C, and a heli (although I haven't decided which yet).
  18. I got a Beaglebone Black recently to use as the backend for a MAME cabinet, but then after joining the forum my mind has turned toward creating a cockpit panel instead :) Is anyone using the BB for their project? :pilotfly:
  19. You're right :) Successfully migrated it to my other drive without having to activate again. Cheers :)
  20. I was thinking of moving DCS on to my SSD drive using the Steam backup and restore function. Anyone know if that burns up an activation?
