@Eeks Does this mean we are getting back Normandy ? When is this blessed event supposed to take place ?
-
@Katyc_11 I have the same conditions - 1.5.8 updated to 2.5. I've spent last 3 hours in mission editor testing various loadouts, mission presets and opponents but could not replicate it. Every time I opened cover and pressed button on my stick flares appeared. And they continued to work until I used all of them.
-
Guys, nobody has left MiG-21 to die. We have pointed that out a number of times in the past few months. Work is being done subsequently on new modules and MiG-21bis. Also, Dolphin responded not so long ago to the flares issue thread. The fact that Devs are less responsive happens because they are working around the clock on our content.
-
Mission is cute but can we get back to real stuff ? Because now we are stuck to old mission with bases so close you can actually see stuff from one base on the other. It's just base rush unlike Normandy with some room to maneuver and approach from sides. And please change liveries on Krymsk P-51s to something more historical. This ultra-blue feels quite unusual and out of place.

To add to the above, I'd would not call an entire texture overhaul of exterior (complete) and interior (work in progress) of the module a "minor texture update" :)
-
For me it was a major performance uplift from 1.5.8 Right now I have on 2.5 Caucasus 80 to 120 Fps on very high settings (high textures, msaa x 8 and af x 16) at 3440x1440p. Gameplay feels smoother as well.

It appears that server is down yet again ?
-
We have said in our New Years Update about bug fixes and what is most pressing issue. This was a small update in preparation for a 2.5 version
-
Server seems to be down again. ITs not showing in the server list for me and couple other people. Could you check it Eekz, please.

That's not exactly true Zach, F4U-1d was a late war fighter as much as Focke-Wulf 190 D-9. While wikipedia claims it started rolling out of factories in April 1944, for practical matters it was still rare even at the time of Leyte invasion and Philippine campaign. For instance, VMF-115 when arrived in December 1944 on Tacloban airfield as a part of Marine Aircraft Group 12, it had a mix of F4U-1's, F4U-1d's and FG-1a's. Older aircraft could also be found in VMF-218. But the point is that F4U-1d is no mid Pacific Theater machine but late war high performance aircraft with possibly greater versatility than warbirds you compare it to. Plus, take into account that FAA had a decent number of FG-1d's in operation as well.

I thought message was clear but this appears not to be the case. Zealu's interpretation is wrong, we do not wish to merely briefly support MiG-21bis but to maintain support for this module for the years to come. Brief is only the reference to the part of text which was not the primary section of update, but still it was important to mention that there is work being done to fix issues existing or appearing for MiG-21bis.

Dear pilots, only hours separate us from the year 2018 and while we all await it impatiently, we thought it would be a proper moment to stop for one last update in 2017. At first, we would like to say that development of Christen Eagle II is going on schedule and this module is almost ready for beta testing! And as this module is already in a highly advanced development phase, we thought it is a perfect opportunity to capture a few shots of our current work, just to raise the curtain a little bit and look what’s behind it. Thus we present to you first pictures of F4U-1d Corsair, a legendary warbird that gained its reputation during World War 2 and later in Korean War. This aircraft is powered by famous Pratt&Whitney R-2800 engine, it’s armed with six Browning .50 caliber machine-guns and can take a respectable ordnance load. We will get into details of this machine on another occasion, for the moment enjoy the beauty of it! At last, we’d also like to briefly return to the beloved Fishbed. In the recent months we’ve been splitting our focus between new projects as well as continuously updating the MiG-21bis module and as you may have already noticed some of the fixes appeared in recent patches. In particular we took some time to investigate the performance issue which many users reported, related to reduced FPS when more than two machines were flying in close formation. We have released a temporal fix recently and continue our work in cooperation with Eagle Dynamics for a complete fix. For now our own tests indicate a fair improvement and thus look very promissing. We also would like to remind you of the ongoing DCS sale which includes MiG-21bis. Do not hesitate and get it before the sale ends on January 3rd! To conclude this brief update we would like to wish you all a happy new year and all the very best for 2018 and beyond! See you soon in the skies! I dont understand what exactly is wrong with facebook. It's one of the simplest means of communicating. There is nothing wrong with taking advantage of social media. Also, I can clearly see there posts and messages from May, June and July with further responses from August and September. From personal experience I know that they respond there to private messages rapidly. They've confirmed work on a new project also saying that : "We are hoping for some good news this September/October, but for various kind of reasons we cannot yet reveal what we are up to." Since October passed, I presume there is a delay or they are not ready yet to present this new module.
-
Jammer, that is a huge exaggeration and assumption lacking substance. They still do respond, particularly on their facebook. Whereas future of Corsair is unknown, that doesnt mean that studio is dead and they continue their work. All that is required now is patience.

You dont buy HEDT platform only for gaming. Just because you cant find any use for it, doesnt mean others wont. Frankly, I've seen a lot of discussions on that topic on overclock.net and TR is no worse than Ryzens for gaming, while providing essential features for those who need them.
-
It appears so if either chute is not deployed and brakes do not respond.
-
1900X regularly hits 4.2 - 4.3 Ghz, highest I've seen on overclock.net forums was 4.325 Ghz score . Most of the tests with TR were made by youtube reviewers who did not consider differences in arch. For TR one just has to get software to force specific tasks to be kept within the same CCX instead of Windows randomly assigning them to all cores.

34 inch 21:9 monitor resolution
Hiromachi replied to Milli's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
My tip would be to wait. This generation of ultrawide panels is all based on AUO panels which have some significant quality issues and next year there will be arriving ultrawide panels with higher refresh rate as well as built in HDR function, so there really is no reason to rush. Better wait and raise money to buy monitor and gpu at once. -

You can, but it wont look well. If you moved from 1920x1080 to 4k and wished to lower resolution on 4k panel it would look ok, but stepping down from 1440p to 1080p doesnt really look well. -

Personally even 3440x1440p is not razor sharp, I had 27" 4k and that was something I really enjoyed in terms of picture quality. I'm looking forward to something like 38" 5,120 x 2,160p LED, with 100hz refresh and freesync/g-sync. Of course no hardware is capable of running it at this point, I'm not even sure there are connectors providing bandwidth for such amount of pixels. But one can always dream :) -

1080 might be satisfactory for the movies, though this days you see a lot more 4k TVs with superior to monitor ones panels. Some even consider buying a 40" TV due to image quality. -

If you want ultrawide than dont go for 2560x1080. 34" will make it too pixely, I saw one of such monitors in store and while in most of the stuff its ok, some games look bad. I have AOC AG352UCG which is a 3440x1440p 35" UW monitor and to power that thing in DCS even 1080Ti struggles at high settings. My specs are as follows: Asus 1080TI Strix OC@2 Ghz Core i7 2600k OC@4.8 Ghz 24 GB RAM at 1600 Mhz I play at high settings with MSAA at x4, AF at 16. Some effects are turned off such as lens, flare, heat blur, shadows are flat only. That gives me roughly 50 to 80 FPS, depending on a situation and environment in 2.1. Unfortunately this version of a game requires a lot of optimization, hopefully it will arrive eventually. I can tell you that 1050Ti just wont do. Better wait, collect more money and buy a better GPU (or even a completely new rig if need be). -
Is this integrity check necessary for this damn server ? I dont like flying with overly dirty and darkened pit, especially as I dont use Deferred Shading and this tained pit is absolutely useless.
