  1. Sorry, again this is off topic, but this is another example of why developing an F-35 for DCS is not a good idea. The development of this type is used every time as a reason why something else must not be as "realistic". Apart from the fact that this is not a valid argument, DCS is committed to being as realistic as possible. Therefore, in my opinion, it is only right to either adapt the Lightning Pod accordingly, or to develop a Lantirn Pod for the F-16 (as close to reality as possible) and replace the current Lightning Pod with it.
  2. So I interpret that as "I think it's wrong, but clearly can't prove it and leave it at that"...

  4. The button pressure cannot change anything, as the water injection is already activated at full throttle (is automatically activated at full throttle)... Without water injection, you should not reach 57.5 MP. But you reach the value, so the water injection is probably implemented The button is not a "turbo" button that increases the speed. It allows higher MP values by injecting a mixture of water and methanol. So if 57.5 MP is reached at full throttle, this only happens because the water injection has been activated. What happens in the P-47 when you activate the injection (with a button), happens in the F4U when you push the throttle lever all the way forward.
  5. I dare to doubt that and will only believe it when you show me where they confirm this exactly. If it really only gets 54MP at 20k ft, then something is fundamentally wrong. At sea level, you can get 57.5 without any problems and without pressing an extra button. So if M3 really did implement it the way you think they did, there must be a confirmation somewhere from M3 (which I don't believe, because I don't see any change when I press this button at full throttle - how could I, since the water injection is already activated at full throttle), otherwise it is quite reasonable to assume that M3 implemented it realistically.
  6. Water injection is activated when the throttle lever is pushed all the way forward (over the deten, all the way to the front).
  7. There is no “On / Off” button for the water injection. You can operate this small microswitch with a screwdriver, for example. However, this is only intended for maintenance purposes, e.g. to fill the system. In flight, this microswitch is activated automatically by pushing the thrust lever all the way forward.
  8. if you get 57" MP at sea level, there is no reason to assume that water injection is not implemented. WEP is MIL + water injection. And that should give you pretty much 57“ MP (57.5” to be exact).
  9. Your assumption that there is a problem with the magnification of the Sniper Pod is based on the assumption that the Lightning Pod is implemented correctly. I would rather assume that the Sniper Pod is implemented correctly and the Lightning incorrectly. In addition, a very high (certainly digital) magnification at some point no longer brings any added value, because the image quality is then so poor that you can no longer recognise anything. This is not even taken into account in the current Lightning Pod.
  10. What I suggested above was not so much for me, but for the players who want to hold on to the high and rather unrealistic image quality of the Lightning Pod. As far as I'm concerned, I could do without the Lightning completely and use a Lantirn as an "older" alternative instead. But yes, of course your method works much more easily (and already does).
  11. If there should be an option that regulates the degree of "realism" of the Lightning, this option should be integrated in the mission editor. This way, everyone can fly their own missions as they wish, but on MP servers everyone would have the same standards. The "option" should be "improved (current) quality" and the default setting should then be "realistic quality".
  12. I think it would be nice if after the Sniper Pod, the (Frankenstein-) Lightning Pod would be replaced by a "real" Lantirn Pod. It's always interesting to see how people lighten up at the smallest and most unimportant supposedly incorrect details and call for adjustments, because otherwise it wouldn't be realistic. But when "realism" affects you directly and things get a little more difficult, realism suddenly isn't important at all...
  15. The Apache was the worst thing that could have happened to the Hind (in terms of development). There is not even a proper manual to this day. That is indeed simply ridiculous (supposedly it is finished and only needs to be proofread... since January 2024... --> https://forum.dcs.world/topic/340168-mi-24p-manual/#findComment-5368718 In consideration of this, I would not expect Petrovich to be improved within the next 2 years. The Hind is simply not "important" enough.
  16. I'm afraid you've misunderstood me here I would prefer the quality of the Lightning to be adjusted according to the quality of the upcoming Sniper Pod (i.e. corrected downwards, so to speak). The above argument doesn't really count in my eyes if you look at the LANTIRN Pod and its image quality, for example (yes, I know that's Heatblur's thing). But be that as it may, I don't really have any influence on it.
  17. That is understandable, of course. So how about improving the image quality of the LANTIRN Pod too? You have to search for pixels there too... (ED could suggest this to Heatblur, for example)
  19. This is probably because there are some people who only want a realistic implementation where it doesn't "hurt" them. The moment a more realistic realisation makes things "more difficult", this is suddenly no longer so important.
  20. I would tend to think that the quality of the Lightning Pod was, or is, rather too high But since I don't really know anything about it, this is of course a purely subjective impression
  21. Wouldn't happen, at least not within the next 10 years or so. Heatblur is busy enough with “own” projects. In addition, there are other good developers besides Heatblur...
  22. But it's so much fun and so much easier to put all the blame on one person... Yes, you can do it that way, but it is in no way objective (since you are of course leaving out all the other circumstances), but quite deliberately a subjective decision. Since I don't know what happened and what the circumstances were/are, I'm not accusing anyone (especially since it doesn't do anyone any good to accuse anyone). There will be a solution at some point (whether we like it or not, we'll have to see), but we certainly won't find out exactly what happened. And to be honest, I don't really care because I have no influence on it either way. Why should I concern myself with the situation between ED and Razbam? I can't do anything about it and neither can you. But I can state my opinion about how people here on the forum only badmouth one side or the other because they don't like them. But I won't change you and I won't change this thread anyway. So it will continue exactly as before. So I should just ignore this thread (and all others). Have a nice Sunday everyone, I'm out.
  23. And here we are again. You seem to know exactly what happened, how it came about and who else was or is involved. So of course you can put the blame solely on one person... Your post alone shows the absolute nonsense of this thread, namely deriving facts from no real information.
  24. And you think you know how to price them correctly? I don't think so.
