I would tend to think that the quality of the Lightning Pod was, or is, rather too high But since I don't really know anything about it, this is of course a purely subjective impression
-
Wouldn't happen, at least not within the next 10 years or so. Heatblur is busy enough with “own” projects. In addition, there are other good developers besides Heatblur...

Kola map really?

And you think you know how to price them correctly? I don't think so. -
Thx.

Where did you get this information from? Just out of curiosity.
-
Ok, but then hopefully you realise that 7000RPM is a bug. The maximum permitted RPM in a dive is 3060. The engine would not survive 7000RPM for half a second...
-
7000 RPM is surely a typo (should be 2700). The keybinds for the coolers work for me without any problems...

Kola map really?
felixx75 replied to fastfed's topic in DCS: F-4E - Northern Defenders 'Phantoms Rising' Campaign
There are now many really good maps that are used far too rarely. It would be far too boring to be on the same 2 or 3 maps over and over again. Kola is great and fits the scenario perfectly. -
I have checked this option, and I can still hear it (it is certainly quieter than without, but still audible without problems).
-
It does exist. You can hear the noise of the higher drag and you can also hear the gear locking (not particularly loud, but definitely audible).
-
The manual says that the warning horn is triggered at a throttle position of less than 1/4. Whether this is actually implemented correctly or not is something you have to check in the simulation. But it has nothing to do with the RPM.

2650 RPM

In fact, I think it would be much better if all patch notes were in the official DCS patch notes, I'm right there with you!
-
There is already a thread on this topic in the "Bugs and Problems" section:
-
+7 lbs boost is not idle... If the warning tone still sounds at +7 lbs boost, this is still wrong and should be fixed as soon as possible. No one can fly like this without going mad.
-
DCS offers almost infinite possibilities, limited only by the technical framework of DCS and the imagination of the mission creator. It's not just about historically accurate missions in DCS...

No, so far I don't know what exactly is meant by "RAM", but I do know that there is no "RAM lever" or similar.

Maneuvering On The Ground With Differential Braking
felixx75 replied to AG-51_Razor's topic in Bugs and Problems
But I don't think the tail wheel should feel as if it is spring-loaded. My IL-2 days were literally decades ago. But if it feels similar, it's probably not really realistically implemented there either -
However, his chart lists 2550 RPM at 19k ft and the use of WEP, unlike my chart. That is well below 25k ft. And this difference is also there at Mil. power @23k ft. (my chart says 2700 RPM, his says 2550 RPM). Even that is still below 25k ft.

It's always funny to see how people argue and fight here (and in other threads throughout the forum) about subjects that have already been decided and finalised, apparently in the hope of changing the developers' decision. They will surely have thought carefully about why they made the decision they did...

Maneuvering On The Ground With Differential Braking
felixx75 replied to AG-51_Razor's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yes, that's how I do it and it works somewhat well, but the tail wheel doesn't behave the way I know it from other warbirds. -
As the needle wobbles back and forth anyway, 61 is certainly within the error tolerance. In addition, the values in the table are the maximum values that you are allowed to call up in order to fly with it, not the maximum that can be achieved.
-
In fact, our two tables differ if you look closely. For example, I have 2700 RPM @20k ft. I'm pretty sure M3 used the wrong table for their own manual as a source. Namely for the R-2800-8 and not for the R-2800-8W (with water injection). Another indication of this is the likewise incorrect plate on the left cockpit wall, which actually lists the wrong engine type (R-2800-8). They must have actually simulated the correct type with water injection, as the correct MP values are achieved pretty much at the corresponding altitudes.

Maneuvering On The Ground With Differential Braking

Yes, the tail wheel behaves as if it were spring-loaded and not as if it could rotate freely. It always wants to return to its original position.
