  1. Yeah, i was afraid that that would be the answer. But does it sound logical to skip fuzes because of "classified" purposes, and then modeling the CBUs in? I'm inclined to think that the settings on a cbu-97/105 would be far more secret than a dumb mk-82... Also, the airburst fuzes were used way before the upgrade to the C variant. I've seen videos in youtube of airburst mk82's being followed by another one with impact fuze and daaaayuuuum that looks nasty.
  2. Well, I think that with current gen HMCS which are being used in the latest A-10C builds make the whole process of "OMG so many switches to hit" a lot easier. From what I've read (-1) the HMCS is used as yet another SOI which u can point your head, and make yourself a SPI, slave all and kapooya. It's the perfect merge between Mk1 Eyeball and every other sensor. The only thing I've got to say about using only the mav feed to lock on to, is that it requires you point your a/c whereas in the TGP you can search at every angle. For a pop-up attack it's totally understandable.
  3. After reading "A-10s over Kosovo" I got worked up on airburst mk-82's, and I know in the INV page of the LDGP bombs you can select different fuzes for the nose and tail. Excuse me for being lazy but i couldn't find any intel on how this works or if it's implemented at all. I tried changing some of the stuff but no aparent changes were seen on impacts. This also brings another question, don't IAMs have the possibility to select settings as speed of impact and angle of impact?
  4. Aye aye! Thanks
  5. I'll have to try this, because what has been happening to me is that (while using easy comms), i select INT in the rotary and when i press "/" to open up the comms menu, the rotary spins back into vhf automatically and i have a the Ground Crew option blacked out.
  6. ^^THIS has made my life easier. I've tried it with multiple wind settings and works each time. Yeah u still have the Dumb part of the dumb bombing, but it's close enough. Thanks a lot.
  7. Hey, I'm experiencing an annoying bug while controlling AI flight elements. When i give an element tasking, for example take out a tank, flt lead shoots a maverick and then the wingie always does a follow up rifle, which is a waste of ordinance. It gets worse when i task them to take out multiple vics, the just overlap their shots like virtual tax payers don't care. Any advice on this?
  8. Alright, thanks for the answers.
  9. Hey, I have the radios working fine, the only problem/wuestion i have is why do the a-10's radio sound veeery bad? Am I missing something? Do I need to set the uhf antenna? Im running v1.973Beta. All the other aircraft work just fine.
  10. How about AI Radio messages from the ground units? Right now only your wingman (if u flying FAC(A)) is doing that. I recon it could give the module more "shine" aswell as making it more immersive in SP.
  11. - Having a snapshot in my head of the cockpit launch configuration instead of going through the checklist. - Trying to do " "
  12. This mod looks interesting, gonna try it tonight. BTW, current builds of a10, are able to show friendlies in the HUD (not talking about hooking in the TAD), and those fitted with HMCS can locate friendlies by just panning their heads "off boresight" until they see their actual position, so this ain't too far away of the "IRL" dilemma (correct me if im mistaken).
  13. Go to options >> controls and in the dropdown menu select "HOTAS", there you'll be able to map the speed brakes to a key of your choice. By default it is "LCTRL + B" to open and "LSHIFT + B" to retract them. Also note that they you need to hold down those keys to gradually open and close them.
  14. I needs help. I've done all the steps for the installation, and this mod keeps crashing my game. Tried with both manual install and with JSGME. I also used phoenix's setup tool for the tweaking. I can't wait to get the mod working, any help is appreciated.
  15. That's exactly what i had in mind :) I wonder if that's anyway near a public release... @Paganus, What i meant also was to be able to get the feed of the UAV to the MFDs in the A-10, and have it as an additional sensor, kinda like the apache + firescout. And I recall someone saying that some of the latest F-16 blocks have that ability too.
  16. It's already here!!! For it to work you have to: 1- make HUD SOI 2- press F6 short 3- voila!
  17. Alright, I believe that's settled, it is a telemetry packed maverick.
  18. If you have FC2 you can just run them through FC3. All trainings, single missions and campaigns worked for every aircraft.
  19. Is it possible to send digitally aided CAS briefs to (Human) A-10 aircrews on station? Kinda like AI JTAC does when he sends data. An awesome idea would be to be able to take control over the UAS, with just a HUD + MFDs from the A-10, and that way u can do proper (A)FAC-ing with em! I know it's easier altogether to be AFAC with the A-10, but this could bring much more funtionality or "cross-functionality" between the Hog and CA modules. What do you think? Is it time for ED to release a UAS??? :music_whistling:
  20. Aye Aye mate, good luck.
  21. Yes. Like in the little pic I sent, the range cue (unwinding circle with a little stick) has to be in between the two arrows. Be sure to check out the "Weapon Employment" chapter in the manual, down to the point indications there ;)
  22. And it wouldn't serve any purpose neither, since you cannot "take control" like say the GBU-15. Worth asking though.
  23. this quote from the manual is about something else. IAMs don't release in 5mil, they are manual release and 3/9. You should hold the pickle ONLY when the release cue is between the unwinding max and min range carets in the CCRP piper. LIKE THIS
  24. Oh sorry, I think I got it wrong cause you typed "for fun deliveries". It is pretty wacko to use it in combat yes :p
  25. Using the TGP to aim the gun is the whole point of my post!
