I stand happily corrected. To DCS' defense, one would actually aim though the reticle (default hold sec mouse button) and not the weird camera.
-
Alright! thanks a lot Lilkiki! Will test tonight. I thought the turret was only to be used when turned out. I assume that it is in fact a CROWS. EDIT: tested it out, works good :) Now I recall watching some old beta videos where u had to aim with the ironsights, and that pole where the camera is mounted looks more like the frame holding the gun than an actual camera :s

video added in the first post ^

My commander's mg sights is offset and below the actual ironsights and it's extremely hard/annoying to aim it this way. I'll post pictures later tonight (at work right now). Has anyone experienced any of these issues? If so, how can I fix them? Here's a video for it:

Gotcha. Shouldn't these values be different for each station/pylon/rack? And, are these values zeroed by default for each station? I'm guessing all this is not even modelled in the sim. It's funny, the first time i heard about this sim it was like "WOW it's like real thing!" and once I started digging into it more and more I realized how much stuff is missing/not functional/useless in a sim :p

Maybe the Helmet Mounted Cueing System available in some of the latest hogs!

Thanks Lt. Seahawk and Mvsgas for the intel :) Now another question arises... The offset and velocity of ejection that can be set in the bombs, this is still an area i need to dig in to. I'll do some "RTFM" but if anyone knows more than what's in the manual I'll really appreciate.

Yeah, that's way out of my reach either way. To get hardware down here in South America is too darn expensive: TM Warthog HOTAS for 900 us dollars, Saitek Pro Pedals 400 bucks, trackIR 400 bucks (I did my own headtracker :p). So for that matter I'm sticking to freetrack. I tried to fight opentrack but it's impossible to find the correct position of my head, I fought it for hours and became dizzy cause of the struggling. I loved the almost-zero lag it has though.
-
Looks interesting. However the question is, does it have the effect I'm talking about? (yaw + z = move your head in the direction you are looking to)
-
Definetely a must for MP but still you can have tons of fun being ground commander, not so much going against AI yourself, cause AI can see through buildings/trees.
-
Exactly that was what got me stirred up on this!

You do have a solid point in terms of hot rearming and updating manually the inventory. @mvsgas, Yeah, I'd love to have airbursts but well, I think they ought to fix the damage model before they even touch the airburst fusing. But taking into account what they have modelled (suite 3??) I think even the mk-82AIR would have to be set by they ammo guys with "nuts and bolts".

http://gyazo.com/2f6d89275f7b13f93ef05657b6ff209f In that image you can see something related to what i mean. gonna test now and report results. EDIT: I got a mild effect but it's going the right way :) Still it's been like 2 hours since I've started setting it up, it seems every axis is interconnecting a lil bit :S

I was thinking kinda like the forced LGB laser code that can be changed on the fly. And with the Mk-82 the N/T shouldn't be available to set in cockpit right? I don't get why they didn't add that in the mission editor/planner.
-
I'll try opentrack tonight. Thanks guys. Do note: my z axis works just fine, i just want it to be relative to my yaw movement and not a fwd/aft movement.

Georgian Hammer with CA: Ground unit objectives.
Kimi_uy replied to Zilch's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
A "more immersive" way to have their locations is placing waypoints in the editor and then poping up the ingame kneeboard and or the TAD for that matter. Now, I don't recall being able to use the kneeboard in a ground mover, if it is, then problem solved! -
Last year I used FacetrackNoIR, but got tired of fighting the lighting and the thing not picking up my face when I looked left (cheap webcam). So I started digging around and in my country the only trackIR i could get was being sold for 390 bucks (those guys deserve to be in jail for ripping people off like that by triplicating the original price). So after a bit i decided to build my own custom made head tracking device And what is still missing for me is a proper movement for the Z axis, I would love to move my head fwd and it having moving in the direction of my yaw, like "TrueView" in the original TrackIR". Is there a way to achieve this with Freetrack?

Malvinas/Falklands project
Kimi_uy replied to berserkcol's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Hey Eduardo, I wish i could help you. And this idea would be really awesome cause "across the pond" we still have Dragonfly's and Pucaras! The Fuerza Aerea Uruguaya would rejoice to have this available. If you ever happen to mod for Arma 3, I'll gladly help. Cheers -
It's triangulation because to define a position in space you need three independant values. X, Y and Z. In our case Z is overlooked because being the object a SAM implies it is on the ground. And yes, I recomend reading A10s over Kosovo, there you'll see how the deceptión game was played. One hog pilot used to call "mágnum" on the radio to make the serbs think he had shot a HARM and serbs monitoring that freq inmediately shut down their radars. Yes you would hace SEAD and jamming going on in a proper misión, but i think We are reading this thread because triangulation is a possibility for our non-human-SEAD sim.

Needed. A list of things the CDU can do? Thanks!
Kimi_uy replied to joebloggs's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Another thing u can squeeze out of the CDU is your bullseye position to show up in the HUD. Comes very handy in a MP enviroment. How to: 1- Go to anchor page in the CDU. 2- Select bullseye as your anchor point. 3- On the bottom left of that page you can read "HUD ON/OFF". Press that LSK to select the "HUD ON". 4- Voila, you can now call out your rough position anytime on the top right of your HUD. -

Changing the mk-82 AIR settings ain't much of a bit deal. My concern was about nose fuze settings in detail and not just nose, tail or N/T. And yes, it would be a waste of energy to have a bomba flip to hit tail first.
