  1. I'll add one more. Didn't non-datalink SARH used LOBL method? As far as I know, Sa-5 SAM had facilities to monitor received signal from seeker before launch, wasn't this similar for AAM? Maybe this could be something LA in Su-27 would be based on - non mandatory, but preferred to have before launch. In that case aircraft fuselage would seriously limit seeker FOV against upper hemisphere targets, but this isn't modeled in DCS. Can anybody shed some light on this?
  2. Worst part is that many bugs are there for ages, so there is little probability so they will be fixed. And it seems so the more trivial the bug is to fix, the less likely it'll get fixed. Like those missions, where you just have to delete config directory in .miz file to make them work OK, but for some reason ED cannot be bothered to fix those mussions (I haven't checked those for a while), they rather let users to do it themselves after every update.
  3. That's just sad. DCS 1.2.x is current stable product version, they should support it and fix cardinal bugs like this one, instead of using product that wasn't even delivered yet as excuse. Sorry for OT.
  4. I'v also noticed that Su-27 trim-scales the joystick, -100 always corresponds with cockpit stick fully forward and +100 fully backwards, regardless of trim. I wonder how much this contributes to controlability issues. IIRC Su-33 doesn't do this. Does this come with AFM?
  5. Is single AIM-9 loadout used in instant action mission common in RL?
  6. This still doesn't explain additional elevator deflection past point where cockpit stick hits its limit. Also cockpit stick reaches its limit before circle on CTRL+R display reaches end of axis. As for push-pull asymmetry: On Su-27 joystick axis is scaled so limits of joystick and cockpit stick match. Why is this different for Su-25, is this configurable? Thanks.
  7. I am OK with that. I'v never stated that they should give something away. It's just matter of how will they get paid for it. EDIT: There are many ways how to charge for multi seat module. Lets assume that pilot and RIO seats are worth $50 of development resources each. 1) Single module for $50, two modules per A/C in MP. SP: $50 per A/C, missing $50. MP: $100 per A/c, spot on. 2) Single module for $100, two modules per A/C in MP. SP: $100 per A/C, spot on. MP: $200 per A/c, extra $100. 3) Single module for $50, single module per A/C in MP. SP: $50 per A/C, missing $50. MP: $50 per A/c, missing $50. 4) Single module for $100, single module per A/C in MP. SP: $100 per A/C, spot on. MP: $100 per A/c, spot on. 6) Two modules for $50 each, two modules per A/C in MP. SP: $100 per A/C, spot on. MP: $100 per A/c, spot on. As you can see, allowing two people to play with one license doesn't necessary mean, that you are giving something away fore free.
  8. Based on something wasn't done before, you think, that I think something? Sorry I don't follow.
  9. But that's already the case with single player (unless they split module in two), you get two seats for price of one module. One way to look at it is that you get one seat for free, another that module price accounts for price of both seats. If they split module in two and somebody has two computers he would be able to install pilot seat on one and RIO on another and let play somebody else for "free". There's not much difference between this and allowing somebody to join for free in MP, except later works over longer distance.
  10. Sorry, I don't see connection with my post. Did I somewhere stated something like that?
  11. There's no need to integrate them into base dcs world install, they can be downloaded later, the same way as when somebody buys module.
  12. AFAIK they did exactly that at least with UH-1, you get all positions for price of one module. You just cant man them simultaneously. I am sure that they accounted for this in price.
  13. But that can also mean, that you can invite friends to take a ride along (the same as you can with your car). In that sense it won't be freebie from ED, but from module owner. It can work either way and one can find logical arguments to support either version.
  14. Just curios, did ED already announced their policy for multiseat modules? Will they stick with RL analogy: one module (purchase) = one aircraft, or will they require module purchase for each player? Or will it depend on seat, eg. required module purchase for co-pilot/WSO/RIO, free for door gunners?
  15. When I push on the joystick, in-cockpit stick hits forward limit before my joystick does. I have 100 saturation and I can still observe additional elevator deflection on the external view. Is this known issue?
  16. Just a guess. Maybe you could just download and install FC3 to get the mission file, AFAIK activation key is only needed to play it.
  17. Is this signal somehow modulated, or possibly derived from seeker signal, to allow pilot to estimate "quality" of the lock?
  18. Never seen it before, but this is how I imagine game avionics mode. That's probably reason of discrepancy. Those training videos are probably shot with sim avionics.
  19. Exactly. Su-25T Cockpit language: English Yet, HUD is in Russian in Long Day.miz mission, while in instant action CAS missions HUD is in English. Can anybody reproduce this behaviour?
  20. It depends on mission for me. I always wondered why. Some missions have HUD in english, some in russian, despite I don't touch my settings. Also head movement speed is noticeably different in some mission. Is this some kind of bug?
  21. Open the mission in mission editor. Navigate to campaign folder, mission name can be derived from briefing. There is either switch (-/-) or -[]- icon where you can find how mission is scored. Its usually DEAD condition and +20 for enemy -20 for friendly group. As was stated before you need to score more than 50 to succeed. Look up unit names that contribute do score, its usually every unit on the map. So key to success is to protect your units and take out entire enemy groups. Don't hesitate to help friendly units away from your apparent objective area. There is one particular mission where it seems that you are responsible for stopping enemy advance through the bridge, but you really should help your units at right flank first.
  22. Hi, I have played F-15C instant action. Long story short. I have hit Su-27 with M61, shoot of his leading edge slats on right wing, right stabilator at root, and also left couple of holes in his right wing. But he doesn't really seamed to care, he shoot me down after I'v overshoot him and remained last a/c in game. He made couple of gun passes on our airfield and then landed like nothing happened. I have damaged couple of a/c in that mission before and they tried to retreat north, but this S-27 doesn't. Is this known issue?
