Yep it would be crazy...or on decision day for congress having the nose gear develop a hydraulic leak...Then getting approval only to lose that plane and pilot the next day...man it had to be a rollercoaster of emotions at Grumman...

Common guys does every thread need to digress into a release date discussion? They've given us a window for release and they haven't backed off it or made any changes...we also know that the thing is going to be way more feature packed than anything before it upon release so it will be well worth the wait;) This was simply a thread to reflect on the Tomcat turning 48 yesterday:D

Yep...I have a human RIO that I will be flying with but I'm sure he won't be around at all times. I also plan on using VoiceAttack with Jester. Should work nicely IMO

Honestly this is all speculation...who knows when it will drop. Videos certainly don't detract from development and are part of the normal development cycle. I hope it comes sooner than later but there's no doubt HB is doing a top notch job on this thing and it will be very special upon release;)

If you have a decent rig and play multiplayer in any well populated servers 32GB is almost a neccesity...Going from 16 to 32GB of RAM yielded a huge improvement for me...a big reason why I went to 64 on my latest build...as I was seeing RAM usage up in the high 20s at times..granted 64 might be a bit of overkill. 32 definitely isn't!

There was a proposal by Dale Snodgrass to keep a F-14 Heritage flight going with Private Funding. All he needed was an approval and a few airframes...because of the worry of Iran getting their hands on parts it was denied. It is a shame the Navy and Air Force don't maintain Heritage flights of old historic airframes....and yes I'm very aware of the Air Force Heritage flights they do at some air shows with Private Mustangs, Sabres, even the Heritage F-4..

Honestly at this point and what is certainly the home stretch before release I would personally like to see them not worry about any content like this and continue the great work they are already doing to get us all the Tomcat as quick as possible.;)

Yeah some of this is the price we pay for early being early adopters and the constant quest for bleeding edge speed. I haven't really every been burned.. I haven't had a single EVGA or ASUS product fail me yet either(and I readily admit I probably have a smaller sample size than some of you)...but I will continue my trend of ASUS for Motherboards, EVGA PSUs, and ASUS or EVGA for GPUs, they have never let me down yet(knocking on wood)

Well I have always had good luck with both EVGA and ASUS...only brands I will buy GPUs from. Just now upgrading from a Asus Strix 1080Ti to a EVGA 2080Ti XC Ultra...It appears any of the failure cards do go really quickly so it shouldn't be too much of an issue. I am almost always with my Gaming rig when it is on. And will certainly do so for the early life of my GPU to ensure I got a good one...

I frequently see DCS utilizing more over 20GB of RAM. If you play in decent sized multiplayer groups 32GB is almost a must(I saw a huge leap in performance when I went to 32). I currently run 64GB and don't regret that at all.

There shouldn't be a way to turn off Jester. One, you can't fight the plane period without a RIO so it would be needed. Two, they've already stated that a Human RIO will most certainly be more competent than Jester so it isn't an advantage at all to have Jester assisting the pilot.

HAHA yeah....I'm definitely getting at 2080Ti in the next couple of months and strongly debating selling my 8700K and getting a 9900K with them announcing support for Z370 MOBOs...I know I won't get much of anything now as far as a bump but thinking ahead to Vulkan API I want my system to fly...

It's a very safe bet that Intel will always be faster...but that of course comes at a cost. 8700K is faster that 2700X...9900K will of course be pricey but it will also be the best gaming CPU money can buy ATM...it all comes down to wether or not your on a budget...I personally am not when it comes to my Sim hobby so I plan to get the best when it's available
