Awesome you won't regret it!

I may just be lucky with the damper I got but I have zero slack...hydraulic feel is very smooth and crisp with no slack. Here's the exact one I got: https://www.ebay.com/itm/US-Ship-CNC-Steering-Damper-Motorcycle-Stabilizer-Linear-Reversed-Safety-Control/192738599044?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D9cc3dedc3c5f42ee82a57e3ec3d8c566%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D192738599044%26itm%3D192738599044&_trksid=p2481888.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3Ab48c2a97-3c47-11e9-aa3f-74dbd180180e%7Cparentrq%3A3a4eab5b1690a9c4a542330affde224b%7Ciid%3A1 but warning...he's lying saying he's a US Shipper. Had to take that up with Ebay. Took 15 days to get here.

If you just search CNC Motorcycle Damper on Ebay you should see a ton of them. As long as they are 255mm (10") long they'll work fine. Just make sure it's adjustable;)
-
Yeah unfortunately I ended up with two small extra holes drilled into the footplate(covered in electrical tape) but small price to pay for the benefit of the mod! It really does feel a lot better! BTW this is all using a standard 10" long damper. If you used the longer 13.46" dampers you could certainly use the orientation in the first set of pics.
-
The travel of the Damper in the original orientation cut off about 10mm of the total travel of the pedals. It calibrated fine and still had a lot of travel and felt great but it was bothering me and we wanted to get a orientation that would allow for the full travel stop to stop of the pedals. In the new location it allows for it to go the full travel and added that 10mm of travel with about 3mm of travel left to spare on the damper so perfect...the hydraulic feel was the same
-
Ok after some experimentation(did a little refinement of the hardware to get everything isolated with rubber and vinyl washers etc. and some good feedback from Yomo in CSG-1 who's also doing this mod we discovered it's better to mount the damper bottom right in the middle...so please see the new reference photos: I will tell you this mod is game changer for the pedals! They feel like they are in a jet!

Mk Series/BLU with new Ablative Effect
Greekbull replied to PorcoRosso86's topic in Liveries/Skinning
It would be very helpful if we could use custom Textures on weapons! Just like a livery! PorcoRosso's work is way more detailed than the ED textures and I love to use them on our servers! It would be great if they could please be made not to trip the IC as there should really be no reason for them to do so. Thanks! -
Hello, not currently running DCS in 4K with Helios as I just went to a 65" Curved 4K so I got rid of the touchscreen helios in favor of a screen mounted at knee height and a cockpit that's life sized...but I did run DCS in full 4K high settings with a 1080P touchsceen for a while. I would suggest turning off your in game Anti Aliasing and using Reshade with Sweetfx to do the AA...you will see much better performance! I had good performance doing this setup with a 1080Ti and great performance using a 2080Ti(my current card)...but I would suggest trying the reshade route first and seeing if that doesn't get you where you need with the Titan;)

OK guys did a Hydraulic damper mod this afternoon using a CNC Motorcycle Damper and some hardware I purchased. Damper was about $30. Hardware was maybe $5-7. This completely changed the TPR pedals which were already awesome and a huge step up from my MFG Crosswinds. The pedals now feel Hydraulic! Feel is amazing and added and unintended bonus is with the damper going from the base to the horizontal arm I am getting way more effects from my Simshaker/transducers in the pedals so it feels even more real! Install is pretty easy. The U bracket I got off of Amazon and it's for a bathroom door stall panel(painted it black). You need to screw two small holes in the base to attach the bracket. Then remove the existing E Clip on the left horizontal arm and replace it with a 60mm long M5 scew. I found aluminum sleeves that would fit on the M5 and had an OD of 7.9mm...the openings on the Damper are 8mm so these were a perfect fit...here are some pics! Yes this with a revamp of the pilot model would be highly appreciated! Would love to have a more detail and be able to add proper helmet art! The current model only allows for art on half of the helmet which is mirrored.
-
With Heatblur raising the bar on pilot model and helmet details and Razbam following up with a new more detailed model of their own that is more helmet art friendly. Could we please get an update to the F/A-18C pilot model that is more detailed and allows for proper squadron helmet art/personalization? It would be greatly appreciated by many virtual squadrons I'm sure. Thanks

Have a Netgear R8000 AC3200 Router works perfectly and has original box. I also have a Netgear A7000 AC1900 Adapter I will throw in with it. Looking for $120 Shipped for the pair anywhere in CONUS payment Via PAYPAL. Pics:

I have a 1080P Acer Touchscreen for sale. This thing is large enough to accommodate a full life sized instrument panel for Helios. Works perfectly! Will take $250 Shipped to CONUS payment via PAYPAL. I have the original box with all the padding for shipping as well and it will come with all the cords and stand so it can stand on it's own if you don't choose to mount. That same monitor is $443 on Amazon right now:smilewink:https://www.amazon.com/Acer-T272HL-bmjjz-27-Inch-Widescreen/dp/B00G5AF1S0/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1549390337&sr=8-3&keywords=acer+27+touchscreen+monitor Pics:

Awesome Thank You!!!

If you export the DDIs to a second monitor they look terrible. Thick and unreadable. I know you can modify the Materials.lua and the MDG_Strokesdefs.lua but those don't seem to work after this last patch and even when they do they seem to adversely effect the look of the DDIs and HUD in the cockpit. That issue doesn't seem to be present for other modules in DCS can this please be looked at? Thanks!

Capt Zeen F/A-18C Beta Helios Profile ! ! !

Has anything changed for the rest of you with this most recent update? My UFC isn't seeming to export the display info to my second screen. My DDIs are working fine -

Thank you for the info. This is all a bit new to me so I want to make sure I get it right. To update I just want to grab most recent version of DCS Bios from Andrew W. Would that be the one in the page link that is from Nov? Or the one from a week ago in the DCS Bios link from your sig? Also, which profile should I use with it? Sorry if those are bad questions. This has confused me some since there are so many downloads. The only one I've seen that specifically lists the F-18 add the one with Capt Zeen months ago. Thanks -

Had a chance to test and somewhere in one of the DCS Bios updates the profile code must've been broken. I just installed the original DCS Bios update that had Capt Zeen's Radio additions and the full radio worked. Was the issue of the large knobs only going one direction ever solved? If so would love to go to that version to get that functionality. -
Well 165407 was the second to last Lot 20 and second to last F/A-18C ever built. So it would be among the two most modern Charlie model Hornets they could model. It also looks like 165408 which was the actual last Charlie model produced ended up with the Marine Corps in VMFAT-101 so if they were looking to make the most modern US Navy Lot 20 F/A-18C then 165407 is the one and only;)

I got a PM reply from Capt Zeen it looks like something may have changed with DCS Bios or the Flight Panels because he is seeing the same result. Just wanted to update that in case anyone else runs into the issue.;) -

My PZ69 IS displaying the F-18 presets. The small inner silver knobs control the volume in game like it should and the outer switch button pulls the radio button out like it should as well. What's not working is the larger silver knobs. They will not change the radio presets like described in the profile. Any ideas? Thanks -
Awesome work as always!

The A-6E along side the Tomcat and Hornet would certainly be a dream come true as well someday...

Yeah the HUD is certainly Accurate. Please pull up a few F-14 videos on YouTube. The F-14 prior to the SparrowHawk upgrade had a slow refresh rate;) Here's a couple of examples:
