Whenever I have issues with the updater, I change my computer time to the day before and re-launch DCS. Then the updater launches automatically again.

Flaming Cliffs 3 is a good place to start in my opinion. Most of the interactivity is toned down a bit, and the aircraft systems are simplified. Once you are comfortable with FC3, then choose a module with a fully interactive cockpit and train on it until you feel comfortable. I found these videos on the F-15C's radar extremely informative and it gave me an in depth understanding of the system. If you prefer the Su-27, then the same goes for these videos on its systems. As for everything DCS, reading is what you'll do most. For me that is part of the fun.

Just out of curiosity, if this is the only one, how does a pilot do a conversion to this? What would the process entail?

I see the Lynx has some sort of harpoon that shoots into the deck on touch down. How does that work? Is the landing surface some sort of special material?

I was stuck on Mission 7 of the F-15C Bear Trap campaign. I know this is a very old post, but thank you for pointing out what to edit to go on to the next mission.

Another way is to change the date on your computer to the day before, and then launch DCS again. The updated should prompt again.

I can confirm that I noticed the same lights constantly on. When I fly a few feet above the ground, it looks like 3 big search lights coming from the bottom of the Mi-8. I hope it will be fixed soon.
