  1. I have a workaround that does the trick for me. I'm NON-VR but too old & lazy to jump in the back seat. Right now I have the following in my WSO Startup sequence that initialize thru a VA command 'Backseat Startup after I both engine starts, it all happens in about 5 seconds : TGT Pod - WSO - STBY, All 4 displays - WSO - ON, RWR - WSO - ON, EWWS - WSO - ON, COUNTERMEASURE MODE - WSO- Semi-Auto I'm really not familiar yet with what other basic systems need to be turned ON from WSO seat but would continue this process if some folks can let me know what other systems need to be turned on and in what position from WSO. (On - Off - Standby - ???). Once I sort out the non-standardized crypto language of the LUAs, I can do this for the non-VA pilots with a switch in the front seat.
  2. So a simple keystoke or combo cannot initiate an Event to Trigger? If you wanted to 'Group Activate' a flight (not your flight) to perform an action like begin their launch & preplanned route from Carrier to point X at YOUR arbitrary command, could this be accomplished? If you wanted to spawn or activate a flight of enemy AI at YOUR arbitrary command will, can that be done? If I found a 'unused cockpit control' how do I set a Trigger to test it's current state or Trigger an Event automatically on a change of state value. I'm looking at ME>Triggers> Conditions > X:Cockpit Parm Value Equal to but not sure how to test the change with a simple 'Sound to Unit' in response
  3. Ok, given this hopefully temp situation is it possible to make some edit, in some DCS LUA, INI, CFG or ??? that would allow me to change my overall resolution manually BEFORE launching DCS icon? I want to work on a project where I don't need my usual 2560x1080 res, but instead want 1600x900 so I can use the remainder of the screen. But the current 4+ minute loading time means I waste almost 10 minutes getting set up.
  4. Is it possible activate a Trigger Event thru a keyboard action? In other words can I set up some unassigned keyboard combination (LAlt-? & R-Ctrl-?) that will initialize a Trigger Event to do something as simple as Ex: 'Close Canopy', then 'Anti-Skid ON', then more using X:COCKPIT PERFORM CLICKABLE ACTION Yes, I know there is a keyboard function(s) for this (it's just a simple example) but I'm thinking about a pseudo-script in ME Triggers that will do a series of actions in the cockpit at the press of a keyboard combo. As a follow-up...could I then activate the same Trigger Event via Voice Attack? Example: By assigning a VA action to words 'Let's GO' > KeyPress (LAlt-? & R-Ctrl-?) this could theoretically trigger the 2 events in my example above. Yes, I know I can do this directly thru VA but I actually want to do a series of 5+ Cockpit actions and VA is not as friendly IMHO in this kind of pseudo-scripting for .
  5. Is there an updated DOC available for the 2.8 world, or is this complete? THanks
  6. So it is what it is, another beta issue that ED will hopefully address in coming updates. This was identified back in June under DCS World 2.8 > Bugs and Problems >Installation Problems which is why I missed it in searches. See below for additional info and suggestions on which cocktails can be made to occupy your time while loading. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/328744-obnoxious-dcs-startup-times-since-28641393-openbeta-mt-around-120-seconds/
  7. Having read thru all this and grasping the concept of not eating, drinking, farting or burping during Alignment, I didn't see anything about gently settling in the backseat and turning on basic electronics; switches, radios, screens, blah, blah, blah. Anybody comment on that?
  8. It seems that 2.8 has perhaps introduced so much more ????? that my program loading time from launching on desktop icon to being fully loaded is over 3 minutes. Is it just me and my computer or is everyone experiencing massive loading times? Computer specs posted below. Note 'Eagle Dynamics' resides alone and complete on D:Eagle (447GB SanDiskSSD) as opposed to a normal C:\Eagle Dynamics location. This launch time is AFTER a reboot (soft or hard) with only TrackIR, VoiceAttack, Razer Synapse (Razer Orbweaver controller program) running AND anti-virus turned OFF. Furthermore, once DCS up & running it will take almost a minute to launch a very basic MIZ of 4 a/c on tarmac cold, where the entire earth it seems is covered by water for the first 10-15 seconds before the land, airfield, continent emerges. Actual play is pretty good with normal 55-60fps except some inflight scenery locations dropping to 30fps. Is this my ancient hardware, program size or some other anomaly?
  9. I think I have plan for this, even though I'm not VR'ing, but I need to know which switches in WSO seat need to be in what position during Startup. I've watched various Startup videos but they all seem to vary, or ignore that crew position to get up fast. Ex: TGT Pod - WSO - STBY Let me know and I'll hopefully resolve this for both VR and non-VR.
  10. Some here are arguing for the sake of arguing. There has been several tweaks suggested in the 'now world', and several fixes suggested for future dev work. Enough is enough, can we get back to more important issues like fixing the Subway Tuna sandwich dilemma, or even more important; you can't chomp down on a Subway Tuna sandwich while the INS is in alignment for fear of moving the aircraft 1 nanometer?
  11. Re: Fixed: INS Alignment too sensitive to movement. A bit vague but hopefully resolves the ridiculous sensitivity of a 15 ton warplane, with 2 operators on board that can't even scratch their nutz or sneeze during alignment.

Any images of a DCS version? Any info?
  13. Can someone please refresh my addle brain on how to adjust my default cockpit view while sitting in said cockpit looking forward? My view is way too close with only the upper portion of MPDs visible....quite claustrophobic. I feel like I'm sitting on someone's lap. Note this is NOT VR, but using a TrackIR mounted to headphones. Perhaps a suggested position image if possible.
  14. @AUS_Heracles....fingerlift method worked perfect, had no idea it was a mappable position...thanks so much.
  15. Not able to check right now, I didn't set any curve for Throttles but when I 'whack the throttles' over the A/B detent it never got over +/-99%. @Trancers...appreciate your sharing info on control stick curves, I'll give those a try as mine seem a bit overreactive-touchy
  16. I'd say learning this truck bomb beast is pretty damn complicated enough as it is, and if some beta tester, or pre-pre release tester equipped with a TM Warthog (A-10) control head has made an effective profile it would help us mere mortals a bunch. They would know what mappings are important in a priority sense, and the optional workarounds. They would also know what switches-buttons on both devices are 'available' for something other than the A-10. After all, the TM Warthog is one of the most popular available. And the DCS 'community' has been one of the most supportive & encouraging I've ever experienced. Com'on guys/gals help us out so we can join you in the skies for a session of 'warheads on foreheads'.
  17. @Gunfreak...good question, don't know. But it would be pretty simple to test the theory with a couple quick (and massive) BOOMS on a piece of real estate without hard structure. Sounds like fun....
  18. I would think a GBU-10 is more 'entertaining' than a GBU-24 (or similar penetrator) for the BIG BLAST. The penetrator's blast is focused downwards and below ground level whereas the GBU-10 is less focused.
  19. I'd say any bomb that lands next to you would the trick, otherwise you need to give us some parameters of 'deadliest' to who/what/where.
  20. ---AUS_Heracles......is the idle/off detent a mappable switch? If yes, are you suggesting we begin Startup in Idle position, then lift back as the fingerlift? That would do it for me if it is mappable.
  21. Not sure exactly what you're looking for but here is weather settings DRACONAS referred to above. I used it to get a Case III COMS on a relatively clear 13:00 afternoon...the secret was 'the Fog'. I don't know anything about a 'multiplayer' mission file on a server but maybe you can take this MIZ and edit-migrate to a server??? https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3322533/ "ACLS System CVN71 Caucasus_Day Training Aid"
  22. Folks in our community have been flying this for months now, somebody has to have a TM Warthog HOTAS profile to share. I'm also confused by what TM Warhoggers are doing about 'fingerlifts'.
  23. Same here as Toastman; had to invert and all is well. Now if I can just get a good, relatively complete TM Warthog HOTAS profile, life would be just grand.
  24. Appreciate the response on this... @AlpineGTA ....I'll take that recommendation for the 'spring & cam kits' and will order asap. Living in Shanghai, the delivery is only a day or so away. @MustangSally...if I tighten the base screw collar to a snug fit, the hole for the 'grub screw' is almost 120 degrees counterclockwise away from the flat portion of the threaded insert. I'm thinking that there may be a washer or 2 missing from the kit that might solved this problem, and I didn't want to phuck up the threads. I'll try making a washer first then consider grinding a new flat spot. I'm glad to hear this model (without any Z-axis ) is NOT supposed to rotate freely and happy to try & fly again. Thanks,
  25. Got this stick a couple months ago and was not happy with the centering return spring either. But what was more confusing was the stick allows a twist of more than 90 degrees with absolutely no resistance or return to centerline. Is there something I missed in the setup that allows this and can be removed-locked in a normal center position? I've gone back to my Warthog but would be interested in using this again WITHOUT any twist allowed.
