Re: Fixed: INS Alignment too sensitive to movement. A bit vague but hopefully resolves the ridiculous sensitivity of a 15 ton warplane, with 2 operators on board that can't even scratch their nutz or sneeze during alignment.

Any images of a DCS version? Any info?

Can someone please refresh my addle brain on how to adjust my default cockpit view while sitting in said cockpit looking forward? My view is way too close with only the upper portion of MPDs visible....quite claustrophobic. I feel like I'm sitting on someone's lap. Note this is NOT VR, but using a TrackIR mounted to headphones. Perhaps a suggested position image if possible.

@AUS_Heracles....fingerlift method worked perfect, had no idea it was a mappable position...thanks so much.

Anyone have a good Warthog throttle curve setting yet?
AvgWhiteGuy replied to PD919's topic in F-15E
Not able to check right now, I didn't set any curve for Throttles but when I 'whack the throttles' over the A/B detent it never got over +/-99%. @Trancers...appreciate your sharing info on control stick curves, I'll give those a try as mine seem a bit overreactive-touchy -
F-15E HOTAS profile for Thrustmaster Warthog -Anyone have one to share?
AvgWhiteGuy replied to pylotjon's topic in F-15E
I'd say learning this truck bomb beast is pretty damn complicated enough as it is, and if some beta tester, or pre-pre release tester equipped with a TM Warthog (A-10) control head has made an effective profile it would help us mere mortals a bunch. They would know what mappings are important in a priority sense, and the optional workarounds. They would also know what switches-buttons on both devices are 'available' for something other than the A-10. After all, the TM Warthog is one of the most popular available. And the DCS 'community' has been one of the most supportive & encouraging I've ever experienced. Com'on guys/gals help us out so we can join you in the skies for a session of 'warheads on foreheads'. -
@Gunfreak...good question, don't know. But it would be pretty simple to test the theory with a couple quick (and massive) BOOMS on a piece of real estate without hard structure. Sounds like fun....

I would think a GBU-10 is more 'entertaining' than a GBU-24 (or similar penetrator) for the BIG BLAST. The penetrator's blast is focused downwards and below ground level whereas the GBU-10 is less focused.
-
I'd say any bomb that lands next to you would the trick, otherwise you need to give us some parameters of 'deadliest' to who/what/where.
-
---AUS_Heracles......is the idle/off detent a mappable switch? If yes, are you suggesting we begin Startup in Idle position, then lift back as the fingerlift? That would do it for me if it is mappable.

Random question regarding ai LSO sugar calls
AvgWhiteGuy replied to Indianajon's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Not sure exactly what you're looking for but here is weather settings DRACONAS referred to above. I used it to get a Case III COMS on a relatively clear 13:00 afternoon...the secret was 'the Fog'. I don't know anything about a 'multiplayer' mission file on a server but maybe you can take this MIZ and edit-migrate to a server??? https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3322533/ "ACLS System CVN71 Caucasus_Day Training Aid" -
Folks in our community have been flying this for months now, somebody has to have a TM Warthog HOTAS profile to share. I'm also confused by what TM Warhoggers are doing about 'fingerlifts'.
-
Same here as Toastman; had to invert and all is well. Now if I can just get a good, relatively complete TM Warthog HOTAS profile, life would be just grand.

Appreciate the response on this... @AlpineGTA ....I'll take that recommendation for the 'spring & cam kits' and will order asap. Living in Shanghai, the delivery is only a day or so away. @MustangSally...if I tighten the base screw collar to a snug fit, the hole for the 'grub screw' is almost 120 degrees counterclockwise away from the flat portion of the threaded insert. I'm thinking that there may be a washer or 2 missing from the kit that might solved this problem, and I didn't want to phuck up the threads. I'll try making a washer first then consider grinding a new flat spot. I'm glad to hear this model (without any Z-axis ) is NOT supposed to rotate freely and happy to try & fly again. Thanks,

Got this stick a couple months ago and was not happy with the centering return spring either. But what was more confusing was the stick allows a twist of more than 90 degrees with absolutely no resistance or return to centerline. Is there something I missed in the setup that allows this and can be removed-locked in a normal center position? I've gone back to my Warthog but would be interested in using this again WITHOUT any twist allowed.

@jaylw314 & ASAP, I'll get HUD screenshots of the my Yellow and the existing Amber ( which is RGB (255,102,0)} to post. The Yellow is brighter than both but not overpowering from my perspective and works quite well in Day.
-
I played around with this and couldn't get a Dark Blue for daytime, and the Black didn't help me. But I did get a Yellow that surprisingly works well in Day and some may want to try. It definitely was brighter & stronger than the Green for my sh#tty eyes. Editing that LUA as you instructed and replace that line with " {255/255, 255/255, 0, 255/255} " did the trick for me. Cheers,
-
If the first 3 values represent R,G,B then a darker green might be {0, 51/255, 0, 255/255}, and I still have no idea what the last series (255/255) represents
-
@BuzzU....do you or anybody know what these specific numbers, and the sequence refers to? I've got sh#tty eyes and wouldn't mind playing around to get a darker green color. Thanks
-
Anybody know a way to change the Coms menu text color in the upper right hand part of screen? With sh#tty eyesight I can't read it during daylight with no background contrast. If there was a way to change text colors OR reduce the transparency of it's background that would be great. It's not like it would hinder overall view if it's background was less transparent. Thanks,

How about 'Layers' that be be Locked/Unlock/Hidden similar to graphic image editors (Photoshop) so I can build a part of the story (Ex: Carrier Attack Grp) then locked it to avoid inadvertent editing mistake while building another part of the story. I see throughout the various suggestions the request for Undo/Redo or Step Back/Step Forward; it's very frustrating when you make a simple mistake but it totally screws up hours of work. 'Layering' would significantly reduce these mistakes and also make it cleaner to work with by 'Hiding' layers so that can't receive Focus.- 470 replies

I need to get this elevated up the chain to FUBAR Support, I can't get it to start 2 times in a row and can't reproduce any successful load. I can't even isolate a when/why changes I may make are good/bad. The only thing I can say is that if a Login screen appears after the initial splash screen, we're good to go. If no login screen, I'm always at about 185MB loaded in RAM and I'm screwed again with a log of the same 21 lines. I removed antivirus program completely, changed firewall settings (back & forth), deleted SavedGames/DCS.Openbeta innumerable times.....success then failure. but nothing is repeatable, nothing is consistent !!! Time for more beer............
-
This is really strange but I think I've been released from Grounded and able to fly again. DCS starts up and I'll continue evaluating WTF happened. To summarize for any ideas-suggestions: DCS would not load, only the initial splash screen appeared followed by error msg displayed in above post. Win10 (32GB) machine running Task Manager entries with DCS @ 22% RAM Mem (184.xx) after 10 minutes. Going nowhere. Renamed SavedGames/DCS.Openbeta - no joy, new DCS.log showed only 21 entries, no longer displays error msg Perform a repair with "dcs_updater repair" as suggested - no joy, same shyte. Removed AVG antivirus completely from machine, reboot - no joy, same shyte...beer #1 Perform a FULL, SLOW repair with "dcs_updater repair" - no joy, same shyte. Stumbled on 2020 forum post from BIGNEWY regarding Enable Full debug log with your autoexec.cfg, thought that might be revealing Renamed SavedGames/DCS.Openbeta for 3rd time......followed post instructions and ....bing, bang, boom....DCS requested Login creds and came back to life !!!!! HUH??? Beer #2 !! Returned my original SavedGames/DCS.Openbeta and added autoexec.cfg to proper subdir...DCS is ALIVE and DCS.log is now 1,625 lines. This is obviously not a FIX, I will fly tonight to see whether all is normal. I would love to hear any remote reason that merely running the 'autoexec' in SavedGames/DCS.Openbeta/Config could possibly resolve an issue; it is 1 line (log.set_output("dcs", "", log.ALL, log.FULL)) There is a god....and beer #3...........
-
Thanks Rudel, but no joy. Ran Slow repair, have exactly same log, same Task Manager entries with DCS @ 22% RAM Mem (184.xx) after 10 minutes. I would think the last entry in log (Line 21)about "EDCORE (Main): Loaded D:/Eagle Dynamics/DCS World OpenBeta/bin/CockpitBase.dll" would give some clue but....I'm still grounded

Restarted several times, renamed Saved Games/DCS.Openbeta dir. DCS created new Dir and only log is attached below....all 21 lines ....huh???? I just noticed that this new Saved Games/DCS.Openbeta dir has only 2 subdirs; Config & Logs. There is only 1 file (dcs.log) in the entire directory structure. SO during initial loading it isn't getting very far. Image below is after 8 minutes since being launched......... dcs.log
