  1. I am surprised there is so much interest in an aircraft which even if it operates to spec (which is doubtful) has: Short range; Mediocre speed; Poor maneuvering and dog fighting capability; Low weapons load out with out external (when it has no stealth); Mediocre stealth; Incomplete software and has been released with 18 months to 2 years more of development needed according to the program head.
  2. Reading the check list for the helicopter it doesn't really follow the tutorial procedure. For instance you wait for the rotor and engine RPM to sync and then advance the throttle but no mention of slowly. Normally FCU scheduling would prevent the engine blowing up from a rapid throttle advance anyway, so find it odd that it does if it does. N2 RPM shouldn't materially affect the N1 system anyway, I could hold a UH1H rotor still till 52% N1 and have no material affect on that system. (this was done to make the underslung rotor accelerate more rapidly) Ill try this and see what happens. Gazelle DCS checklist below. https://goo.gl/images/WwMPsK
  3. Description: Start up tutorial, I follow the instructions exactly and as I get to turning on the auto pilot axis and master the engine RPM decays to nothing. I can get the axis switches on but the auto pilot master will not switch on probably because the engine has died. Also the tutorial asks me to check earlier that turbine RPM is ok but gives no indication what ok is. Example: As above. DCS Version: 1.5.5.58891 Steam: Non steam Map: Its a training mission so where ever you place those, ukraine for this one I think. SP/MP: SP Reproducible: Can be reproduced 100% of the time. Step to Reproduce: Just followed the tutorial exactly. Screenshot/Video available: Haven't done this yet but can if necessary. Track Available: Didn't get started so no track. Mission File: Its the cold start tutorial. Controllers: Thrustmaster warthog throttle, thrustmaster warthog HOTAS, Track IR and Saitek pedals. OS: Windows 10 RAM: 32 Gig GPU: Windforce GTX980 G1 Gaming Mods: None
  4. Many thanks Ill try that, do you have the full address? the one you posted is truncated and so far I have been unable to find options.lua on a search
  5. I finally downloaded DCS2.0 and set up my triple monitor selection as I had previously with DCS 1.5. However my resolution was either wrong or my selection didn't take and I now have the triple selection on one screen. The problem is with the menu system there are no options in the main menu to change back and the edges of the screen where I might change my resolution are cut off. How can I adjust my resolution or my screen number outside the program since I am unable to do it within as all the controls are cut off.
  6. Having a 12 month life on bonuses where in my experience I haven't been able to use them most of the time and given the infrequency with which aircraft are released is a recipe for what has happened to me. $68 worth of bonuses cancelled without ever getting an opportunity to use them and the opportunity offered after they are cancelled. Maybe that's the rules but they are not fair or good rules and I do feel ripped off.
  7. I have bought almost every module you or your subsidiaries have produced yet when I check my bonus history I have almost nothing nor have I been offered the opportunity to use bonuses till now. I note that I received bonuses only to have them deleted a day later. So in essence I get $10 off after buying virtually every aircraft you have released. That makes this bonus program utterly worthless IMO and a yes I feel ripped off big time.
  8. 1.- In which version would you be interested ? a.- Mirage F1C b.- Mirage F1E c.- Both 2.- Would you be interested to have later on an update the two-seat version, the Mirage F1B? a.- Yes b.- No 3.- In which language would you like to have labeled the cockpit? a.- Spanish + French (original CE and EE) b.- French c.- English d.- Other 4.- Would you be interested in the Mirage F1M as a independent product in the future? a.- Yes b.- No
  9. Congratulations on your new status. Cant wait to see the BO-105PAH1A1 here as well.
  10. If temperatures are very low you may need external power. Ni Cad batteries die at low temps and this is modeled in game. Have had exactly this problem where I couldn't get a start at low temp till I hooked up ground power.
  11. Nose wheel brakes can be fitted on some aircraft when operating in snow and slushy conditions aka 737. Not a normal fit though. Some aircraft disable the air ground sensor temporarily on lift off to apply de spin brake pressure then remove all brake pressure till the squat switches are made again. The rubber pads mentioned are pretty common though.
  12. Looks like a Mig19 or Mig 17 icon in there too, though having now seen a clearer pic its labelled it L39. Oddly they fly together in an aerobatics team.
  13. This looks like a great set up Skitter, can you give more detail on what you had to do to achieve it? I noticed what likes like a numeric keypad on the left, how did you integrate that? as well as the rest :)
  14. You wont be able to click on the controls in any of the FC3 aircraft if that is what you are attempting. They use keyboard shortcuts.
  15. One of the reasons they wouldn't fly without them is that they actually improve performance. By all accounts that was an unexpected side benefit.
  16. One of the effects which happens during an auto rotation is that aerodynamic drag is replaced by drive train drag which is in essence the reverse of the aerodynamic drag. This happens in a normal helicopter too. Thus for a single rotor helicopter the fuselage will want to rotate with the rotor and pedal inputs need to produce a thrust (relatively small one) to combat this.
  17. Pictures seemed to have vanished, can you link it? (my pic is gone too with only the link remaining) Accidents are not what is being modeled anyway but even those would produce a bend only on rare occasions.
  18. Cant see why you would rate the UH1H and MI8 as medium fidelity. Both have a very high level of detail and great flight models, the UH1H especially. They easily surpass the aircraft you grouped them with in terms of detail and should be in the high fidelity group. Though I would say your about right in terms of complexity.
  19. Never seen a tank gun bend due to pretty much anything, they can be snapped off but pretty much don't bed. I think images of tank guns being bent come primarily from games where it was a mis informed way of showing damage along with a blackened hulk. Even in the example below where the turret went a long way into the air and imbedded the turret a considerable distance into the ground the gun is straight. http://englishrussia.com/2008/06/04/the-russian-tank-and-the-russian-missile/3/
  20. I cant find anywhere that verifies this info, the Jug was well behind in terms of air to air kills, which were topped by P51s and F6Fs. In fact it was the 4th highest scoring US fighter just marginally in front of the F4U.
  21. If you go all the way to full throttle then just wind it down the solenoid stop will prevent you going below the start position. I found in very cold weather I couldn't get a start without ground power.
  22. Pull back on cyclic while lowering collective but be ready to control your rate of descent quickly as you slow and feed in rudder pedal under 40 knots when the tail fin becomes ineffective. Above 40 knots the tail boom in a normally loaded Iroquois has pretty much unloaded the tail rotor which should give you more power and need no pedal input. While you definately need more pedal with heavy loads on take off I am not sure that the point at which the fail fin unloads the tail rotor varies due to load in the sim. The modelling of settling under power is pretty brutal here so a quick stop can get out of control pretty quickly if your not careful.
  23. I have had the fire warning light up on me due to enemy fire more than once, the first time I ignored it after using F2 and seeing no fire, but about 60 seconds later I had an engine failure so I am guessing there was a fire :) Should have autoed.
  24. I found a thesis on the subject and it seems there were two aerial combat teams, the first was just the two UH1Hs. The second was formed with AH1's and later UH1s utilising SS11 missiles. I am a little unclear on whether they utilised TOWs though there was little employment after Kontum. The two UH1Hs were spectacularly successful at Kontum being credited with playing a large part in stopping the armoured attack. Between them they destroyed 10 tanks in one day and two more the next day with odd kills on other days. I think the section dealing with their combat employment is chapter six. http://www.vhpa.org/stories/XM-26%20TOW.pdf So it does seem to have been of limited application though quite spectacular when employed. The SS11 was more widely employed though with less success which was mainly put down to lack of training. Still given the environment we have to fly in with the much more potent tank and AA threat I think we should have it :)
