  3. Not really... Briefings are your friend...And notes, lots of notes.
  4. WOW. Beautiful.
  5. LEVEL II For real...That doesn't say much about what the Eagle is capable of.
  6. Is your gear up? You can't shoot the gun with the gear down... Besides that, "C" selects the cannon and "Spacebar" fires it. Edit: Mirmidon beat me to the post button...lol
  7. That sure is one sexy bird.
  8. Because forum crowds accurately represent the playerbase, present or future. Edit:
  9. This is a wishlist thread, FYI.
  10. Having a wingman really helps...
  11. I've always thought that a few more low detail areas with some airfields (or maybe FARP-like spawnable airfields) would be good for that kinda thing. Wonder what ED thinks...
  12. Sigh. Do you people come here to click switches or kick virtual rear end? SSM/PFM stuff is fine. Sure, everyone'd like ASM/PFM, but sometimes you can't have that. Think modern platforms or otherwise complex platforms with minimal data. The SSM birds are great gap fillers. What these threads really show, IMHO, is the biggest problem with the community by far: It gets so caught up in FM fidelity and other generally useless things that it doesn't seem to care about scenarios or overall realism. Look at these 3 bag A-10s on airquake servers sometime and tell me you're playing a high fidelity simulator. :D
  13. FC3 level (something? anything? EVERYTHING!) where we can't have proper. Glad I'm not the only one in favor of that! Make Red Air Competitive Again.
  14. Stealth is dank. First sort/shot denial is an amazing advantage. Su-35 doesn't have a chance. Won't kill enough to affect the outcome of the war IMHO. That and the T-50 will probably kill your 4th gen buddies quite a bit though. The near-parity that the Flanker-E has with Western 4th gens is it's second greatest positive attribute. What is the first "best positive attribute", you may ask? The video in the OP. :D
  15. The PFM, while not "released", is available in-game. Look it up on hoggit or something. The jet feels great. I think it'll be more stable in pitch at AOA, likely better in negative PS (i.e. high bleed rate) maneuvering than the Su-27. The -33 has a LOT of lift on it! The ASC Direct Control is still there. The overstress model is there (idk if it's a placeholder or not tho'), the wheel brake pitch/yaw override is there too. Honestly, VERY surprised at the quality of the...NOT-released PFM. Quite excited for proper implementation. :joystick: Carrier landings are very unforgiving now, btw. (OT/PS: The Su-33 is why I'm playing DCS...Found LO/DCS while looking for a Su-33 in "another simulator"...You know, the one with the big jets and stuff. So this PFM is something I'm very much looking forward to flying more often.
  16. It can be equipped with more without modification. Give it the smaller flares. :) *AFAIK* we have the newer (kinda), bigger flares simulated...With really basic CM effects. If I remember right ED/BST/one of the devs had been involved in such a wishlist thread.
  17. I take a lot of QRA/CAS tasking data, flight plan, comms, departure/recovery stuff, A/A mission specifics, training goals, inflight notes (for debrief, mainly) and write it down. Ended up buying a decent kneeboard for it. Works great. Picture below shows some of what I've put on paper. My already sloppy writing gets even sloppier at 500kts! :D
  18. Extreme offbore shots are a thing, FYI. And who's to assume you can't use L/MRMs in an ECM environment? That said, since the assumption in that case is neutral position/numbers merges... Rate kills!
  19. "What game is that?" "DANK COMBAT SIMULATOR, by Eagle Danknamics" Can we get an F/A-18Dank, too?
  20. PL-12s?
  21. C:\Users\(username)\Saved Games\(DCS Version)\Config\options.lua Line 59 for me..."multimonitorsetup = "________"" Change that to "1camera" (edit: WITH the quotes around it!!!!) Fyi the default monitor configs are in (Drive name)\Eagle Dynamics\(DCS version)\Config\MonitorSetup
  22. 1.5 trillion USD over 55 years. Acquisition costs are not the same as acquisition + maintenance + training + etc. A little context helps sometimes, FYI. It's literally right there in your quote. :)
  23. Passive sensors can figure out range for surface threats really well...Without getting into signal processing and range estimation from that. If you know your own position, you can figure out where stuff is on the ground quite easily. On rolling...Rolling shifts the RWR field of view in elevation. So if you roll left or right a few times you might get an idea of where the contact is in elevation because it will go outside the field of view and disappear. IRL, RWRs will see things that aren't in their field of view, but DCS doesn't really simulate electronic warfare past a superficial level (for now).
  24. I think "FLYUP" indicates that. Edit: Btw, I don't believe the Hornet has an AGCAS or similar.
