  1. It's stupid that they are implemented the way they are, either remove them and let us add them where we want them, or have them automatically move out of the way of player added ships. It's ridiculous that your ships just pass through them, and neither they nor the player added ones try to avoid a collision.

Sorry but I don't buy it that it's a case of "it doesn't work that way", it's all running on the same platform, so there will be a lot of basic functionality that will be common to all modules, and the fact that third party developers are waiting on the air to ground radar to be done by ED proves that is how it works, if each module was entirely its own thing then they wouldn't have to wait for that, so if that's the case for the air to ground radar then it stands to reason it is the case for other parts of the sim aswell.
  4. No point in going backwards though, they're talking about basically temporarily breaking things that they're working on, why not work on those things and not introduce the updates until they're working?

In the most recent weekend news it was mentioned that some of the systems such as the air to air radar will be worked on, and no doubt that will introduce a load of new bugs, why not either withhold those updates or put in placeholder systems, why not use for example the F-15's radar modes as a placeholder? There are other things that could have been substituted in aswell, why not use other aircraft systems as placeholders, such as the A-10's litening pod and MFD functions so that PGM's can be used, and then when the real F/A-18's pod/MFD functions is ready, replace it.

Now I do have a file for the FA-18C in the user payloads section, but looking at the entries in it it clearly refers to the lot 20, since one of the listed load outs includes the double launch rail for the AIM-120. The folder also contains files for other AI aircraft, I have for example a file for the B-1B, F-15E, F-16C and Su-24M, so my guess is that there is a conflict in the file naming system for the AI Hornet and the player Hornet.
  7. Not finding any reference to an F/A-18C.lua in the log at all, or FA-18C.lua, there are references to "fa-18c" but not any lua extensions on it.

  10. I assume this is being totally replaced at some point by the Lot 20? If not, then there is a bug that I've run into, I use it in a support role at the moment since we have no guided A2G weapons, but it seems to not save any load outs in the mission editor, you can create one and assign it to a plane, and it will be in game, but if you then load the mission into the mission editor again, it will have no load outs listed, kind of annoying at the moment.
  11. Just bombed a couple of Kilo submarines in dock, and one of my bombs hit the edge of the dock, which was angled from horizontal, the decal attached itself to the angled bit, and instead of wrapping around the surface it sticks up in the air....

Would it be possible to have a single install with a beta and a stable exe, and "stable" and "beta" files, kind of like beta being treat as a mod of the stable, so you can either load up the stable version if the beta introduces a bug, or load up the beta if you want to try out what is considered not the stable version by ED? I just thought it would enable people to try both without having to have two installs, and it would also act like a back up for a week or so to revert to if a beta release introduces a bug that breaks something like the laser mavs on the Harrier.
  13. Had to put air to surface radar, because that will also likely include anti-shipping mode, which means Harpoons :)

  15. They are going to eventually sort this out, the AI is getting a revamp, but when that happens who knows, people have been asking for this for years, myself included, especially the fuel state.

  18. If you destroy a ship or boat, then its trail in the water instantly vanishes. For example I set up a squadron of Iranian speedboats and I then straffed them, as soon as you kill them, the trail in the water vanishes.
  19. It would make mission building much easier if we could designate targets for individual members of a flight, so that they all attack their targets in one pass. For example I built a mission last night to escort four F-15E's who're bombing an air port with JDAMs, I wanted them to do one pass and each drop on a specific target, the only way to get it to work was to make them four flights of individual aircraft and have them all form on the first one, and then split off and attack their targets, and then form on the first one again. It worked but it meant a lot more work in the ME to get it to look good, having a single flight of four aircraft where under the bombing options you could assign targets to specific flight members would make this so much easier than it is.

  21. I'm going to be soon getting another 32GB of RAM, mainly because I will be doing some video editing and CAD work. So I was thinking would it be possible to over ride the current upper limit of the preload radius to take advantage of that in DCS? Would it be possible for ED to increase the limit if there is no way to over ride it at the moment?

  23. I get the title screen, but after that it's just a black screen, I've run the repair utility, and I've checked my system, and reinstalled graphics drivers. Sys specs... Ryzen 2700X, Asus ROG Crosshair 7, 32GB DDR4 3200, 2xGTX970's, Windows 10 on an SSD, DCS on its own dedicated SSD. I don't have a crash log since it hasn't actually crashed, it's just not going to the main menu.
  24. What's the easiest way to migrate DCS, I'm replacing mobo cpu and ram, nothing else.
