  1. Yup, on its very own SSD, and my OS on another SSD, with the page file on a HDD, 16GB ram i5 @4.2, 2 GTX 970's. @ Adixylian It's not that units are being loaded it's the sheer number of buildings that add nothing to the map, as a test to see which settings may help it I only had my own aircraft in the map, absolutely nothing else. MSAA does help, that's gone, but the main culprit is the urban areas, out to sea or out over the desert, or near some of the small islands, it's smooth, but as soon as you start loading up all those buildings, that's when trouble starts. Having all those houses is nice, but it's not needed and I feel it's harming performance for no good reason. So a slider to reduce the number of less important buildings would really help, we really don't need to see 30,000 houses...
  2. Especially for night traps where you can't see which cable you hit
  3. What the title says. As nice as it is to get things like the tail wheel of the spitfire fixed, there are things that are clearly more important.... If it's a case of simply the game needing a beast of a system to run smoothly can we have the ability in the options to scale the number of modeled buildings, I really don't care about seeing individual houses on the PG map, it adds basically nothing to the game other than demanding more and more memory, so like with the trees sliders and the grass and clutter sliders, can we have one to get rid of/reduce the number of unimportant structures that have to be taking up memory?
  4. That's one way to do it, but clearly someone wasn't thinking ahead at ED about this.
  5. Yeah, thought the same thing lol
  6. If you have one in mission it will land and park right at the end of the landing section of the deck, meaning if you bolter it's messy.
  7. Could they automatically move out of the path of user placed ships, at the moment you can put a carrier taskforce on the map and it doesn't take long before you have them sailing right by a tanker, pretty sure they'd tell a tanker IRL to move out of the way:D If they can't be made to move to avoid sea traffic, then let us enable/disable them in the options.
  8. Turn all AA off in game, and then force FXAA on in Nvidia control pannel.
  9. If that's the case, then fair enough, things like that maybe should not be able to be mapped to an axis.
  10. Just noticed on the PG map that on the Hornet it's smooth as silk, but in the Harrier it tends to want to stutter....
  11. ED induced insomnia :D
  12. It's 3AM here 30th, where's my hornet J/K ED induced insomnia :D
  13. Could we have the following added to their available SAM systems... SA-2 (HQ-2J) SA-6 SA-11 SA-15 SA-16 These are all current systems in use by Iran.
  14. Should be no problem doing it in game.... except if you're wanting to simulate a realistic situation. The chances of a Nimitz class ever operating in the Black sea is next to zero, if they could even navigate the waterways into it, it would be almost suicidal to deploy there, you'd not have that far that you could actually go, the CBG would be a sitting duck for Russia.
  15. That's what my friend was saying over teamspeak, that when he tried to pick his role it would crash, happened a few times, the final time he waited until I was sat in the cockpit ready to go, and it worked, whether that was a fluke who knows....
  16. That is the way I do it at the moment Weta43, it's just cumbersome, it would be easier to be able to set a branch point that leads to another set of waypoints that you actually map out in the ME if a specific thing takes place, eg a shootdown occurs in a trigger zone so a CAP gets tasked to be a RESCAP over that area.
  17. I was thinking that considering we have the F/A-18 and more importantly for this, the Gulf map coming up soon, that the total install size for DCS is really getting big, so would it be possible to install modules to different drives. It doesn't affect me yet, since I have about 100GB free on my DCS SSD drive, but if we could install map modules to another drive it would mean we wouldn't have to replace drives, and go through reinstalling everything on a new drive, just instead add drives as we need them.
  18. There's a reason that they always said beware the Hun in the sun.....
  19. It was happening when a client was trying to join my server, I host for myself and one friend, and unless I was already sitting in the cockpit it would just crash. Not got a log of it, as it was not on my end that the crashes were occuring, my system isn't the best of the best with honours, but it has stood the test of time, it's an i5 2550k, 16gb ddr3, and 2 GTX970's with the OS on one SSD and DCS on another.
  20. Would it be possible to add the ability to task specific members of a flight with specific targets in the ME. For instance I set up a flight of four F-15E's and I can assign a ground target to each of them, say lead bombs a bridge, WM1 bombs a railway junction, WM2 and 3 bombs a warehouse, all at the same time on the same waypoint.
  21. It's not a toilet, it is a crew loaded biological warfare device....
  22. Would it be possible to have the option of setting up multiple sets of waypoints for a single aircraft, so that depending on user flags or other conditions, entirely different paths and objectives could be switched to if certain conditions are met?
  23. RAMmap, it lets you force windows to clear out what is cached on RAM without having to do a reset. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/rammap
