  1. I've been playing round with that, I managed to get them firing once, is there anything else that can effect them.
  2. I know the procedure, open the cover, press the button. But it doesn't seem to do anything? Is there more to it than that?
  3. I've managed to roll it, but so far not a complete and neat loop, anyone else managed it without massive yaw deviations?
  4. I had that too, it just seems to be a case that you have to hold some rudder in. During start up there is a part about turning on gyros I'm guessing they're for the ADI's not for rudder assistance....

I've managed to get it working, but it seems to be not acting like a knob, if you click it it presses in like a button, I found just by randomly bashing it (random LMB, RMB presses) I got it to work, but it seems a bit clunky.... If you're on about the backup ADI flyingscotsman, you have to hold down the button and turn your mousewheel and look carefully you will see horizontal markers move up and down as you do, then release when you are happy, the main one you just hold until it settles down.
  6. Well it doesn't seem to be doing that, the yellow box stays there, the button icon is for a knob rather than a button, and the button seems to do nothing.
  7. Bottom left, it has the icon for rotation, but it seems to act like a push button.
  8. The training mission says to turn the knob on the radar altimeter, but it doesn't seem to do anything and the yellow box does not go away, is this me or a bug?
  9. I'm getting a warning dialogue box come up saying "Unknown module POLYCHOPSIM_SA342" when I try to install it. I am trying to install it into 2.0 I'll try it in 1.5 and see if it works... Log file..... autoupdate_log.txt
  10. You could test it, keep the governor and MP low and see if it still does it.
  11. I've noticed recently that my wingman will often stop after landing and just sit there on the runway, instead of taxiing to a parking area. Also when I use the ramp start option he won't taxi out onto the runway until it is clear, after I've taken off.
  12. That is not what I am seeing, at the moment from a purely kinematic POV the R-24 is just not losing as much speed as I would expect, and the AIM-7 is like it is hitting a wall. As an experiment I was waiting and waiting until I got a launch warning, and then firing and then I was watching the missiles and their speed, I didn't care if I got shot down, I just wanted to watch the missiles, and it just looks like the AIM-7 hemorrhages speed, while the R-24 retains it in effect making their ranges little different, even though I can launch at a further range. If I have to wait until 8 miles to get a confirmed kill (I have done that, and yes it does work) then the MiG should have to wait until about 5 with the R-24....

That I disagree with strongly, no matter how I set it up I'm not getting anywhere near what it claims is possible, high altitude, max possible speed, head on against an opponent going max capable speed (both of us supersonic) and at no point does my Rmax get even 3/4 of where I'm lead to believe it should be. At most it seems to be at the 20km mark and not much more.
  14. I'm putting them on my gimbal limits, and slowing right down after launch, but it's looking more and more like the AIM-7's range is just completely under modeled or the R-24's is exaggerated.
  15. Nope, just slightly in R max, maybe about 2-3km within it, and mine are running out of steam while theirs are able to get to where I am. By the looks of it they are launching at Rmax.

I've been trying to learn the AIM-7, and I've noticed that when I'm against MiG-23's armed with R-24's they're launching at about the same range I am, but according to my research the R-24 should have only about 60-70% of the range of the AIM-7M, the AIM-7M should be around the 50km mark (45 in the encyclopedia) and the R-24 around the 35km mark (20km in the encyclopedia) Yet they're launching them at about the same time I am, maybe a few seconds after, which would indicate that the actual in game modeling of them is wrong, or the encyclopedia entrys are wrong.
  17. It was on the Hawk aswell. So it is likely module specific, mine was on single player though, on a mission I built myself. I have no mods installed, it is 1.5, a clean install, all official modules. My system is a i5 4 core @3.4, 16Gb RAM, 2xGTX970's, game is installed on a standard HDD, OS on a SSD.

Nothing will ever get fixed if they just are focusing on new stuff all the time, I think it's best if ED leaves extra stuff to third party developers at the moment and focus on finishing what is in the works, ie the F/A-18, Spit etc, get them released and spend a few months on bug/feature fixing, get it sorted, then start adding more again after.
  19. I thought I'd seen it before, months ago (nearly a year) and I've just given the F-86 another go and it's still like it, how can it possibly be so hard to fix such a glaring bug.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this behaviour but I just made a mission to confirm it, where I was in an F-86 and approached a MiG from six o clock 2000ft below, he was flying straight and level, and as soon as I just got within gun range he just knew I was there, the MiG has no mirrors, not that that would have mattered from where I was, or RWR, but somehow he just knew I was there. IRL there would be no way he could tell, he would have nothing but MiG between him and me. This is ruining any chance of any sneak attacks, please fix it.
  21. Would it be possible to reduce the effect of the first few steps from what is considered "centre trim" so you can finely adjust the trim but after a while it then becomes larger increments so you can still put in big changes to account for asymetric loading and damage?
  22. How can I get helicopters to take off without them taxiing out to the runway, I have done a search, but couldn't find anything. I don't want them to clog up the runway, but I do want them to use the same base I am using. Trying to make it look busy.
  23. What base was you taking off from, there is one that has a bug that effects AI, they do what you're describing too.
