Still blows up way too easy, but refueling is not that hard if you learn what your position picture should look like. For example when refueling from the KC-135 in the F-15, the correct position puts the engine nacelles of the 135 on the frame of your canopy, engines 1 and 4 just outside the frame, and 2 and 3 just inside it. Do that and hold it there and you will get fuel.

Using bonus points with the spit?

Mine expire in may, so considering how it may be a while for the F/A-18 it could be the case for me. -

I did think about that, but they do expire, so if nothing comes out before they do then I'm SOL. -
How to spot bandits with labels OFF??
Capn kamikaze replied to Hammerhead's topic in F-15C for DCS World
TBH after the last patch this has become a lot easier, especially at altitude, if you know the general direction to look, it is now possible to spot a bandit at high altitude at ranges of 20 or so miles, they appear as a single black pixel, but against a blue sky that is easy to spot, it's in close where you're looking around and towards the ground where it gets more difficult. -
Thanks Rep inbound.

After the last patch acmi files are no longer being recorded, before, every flight would result in an acmi file being saved in my mydocuments/tacview folder, now nothing.

I've got $35.00 of bonus points that I have simply not been able to spend due to most things being 3rd party releases for a while, so will I be able to use them on the Spit?

How to spot bandits with labels OFF??

Actually I think you missed the point, and that is that you should build up a good SA picture before you even get in to dogfighting range and then use your ACM modes to help you. -

Not had any issues with myself. -

Main thing is use your sensors, and build a good SA picture, and if you're close enough use vertical scan mode, and roll and point it in their general area, the vertical scan mode is vertical relative to your aircraft, not relative to the ground, so if you roll over 90 degrees it is rolled over 90 degrees, if you had good SA then you should know roughly where to point it, and it should lock. -
Play it now.

Fly Polychop's Gazelle and then come back and say that.

It almost seems as if its because something like an AI reaction is being triggered, such as when I'm about to shoot at a target with guns and I would hit them, so the AI decides to then break to ruin the shot, and that decision causes a mini pause, making me miss, or at times where I am pushing a high fidelity FM to its limits, like aerobatics in the Gazelle, perhaps it could be that something is happening behind the scenes, causing a momentary pause as some numbers are crunched. Seems odd, it's nearly as if you can trigger it. Anyone else experiencing this?

It never beat a pilot, it beat an air battle manager, ie one of those guys that sits in the back of an AWACS, and from that you can infer that it was a broard based tactics vs tactics thing, not a case of pitting a pilot against an AI pilot.

The wingman AI would also need an upgrade to do this, I posted a video a while back showing just how useless the wingman AI is, holding back until I'd dealt with the enemy aircraft, even though I'd ordered him to attack a specific target.

Radar azimuth width not working...
Capn kamikaze replied to Capn kamikaze's topic in F-15C for DCS World
I'll try that, thanks. -
In the past when in RWS mode I could switch between +/-600 and +/-300, using RCtrl+-, now it does not seem to be working any more, anyone else encountered this?

We desperately need more eastern bloc aircraft
Capn kamikaze replied to desdinova's topic in DCS Core Wish List
It's funny a long time ago in a flight sim far far away people where asking for more western aircraft, this all started with the Su-27, then we got the Su-33 and the MiG-29K, then we lost the K, and got the A and G and S, and the Su-25, and now the shoe is on the other foot, even in DCS for a while it was heavily in favour of the eastern block, the west only had the A-10A and C, and the F-15. So far most of the western stuff is still in development, and it's not like what we do have now puts the west in a better position than the east, the west has trainers and helicopters, the east has trainers and helicopters, the west has the Mirage, F-86 and F-5, the east has the MiG-21 and 15, and they were developed first. So to be fair it's not that badly out of balance, once the developers finish their current projects then maybe they'll look at some other eastern aircraft, complaining about it won't really help, there will be developers who want to do it, if they can get enough information to do a half decent job of it, some may have to be educated guesses though..... -
Just did a few tests, and the boom was visually in the receptacle, but the boom operator refused to confirm contact or start fueling.
