  1. Fair enough.
  2. I've seen a lot of pics of the F-5E carrying 4 AIM-9's, is there a way to load more than just the tip rails, or is the specific version that is modeled only capable of carrying two?
  3. Done it now, but I don't see why it needed to be done to begin with, just moving the throttle should have been logical enough....
  4. Why can't we set them just by moving the throttles, that is if you have dual throttles.
  5. The nose is usually made of something like fibre glass or some other non-metalic material, and the radar will have little trouble passing through such materials, there may be some slight distortion of the beam, but it will be incredibly small, and during design of the radar itself it will be accounted for.
  6. Imperfections like this.... J/K, I know it was a mid-air.
  7. For some reason TrackIR is also moving external views about.
  8. After the last update loads of settings have changed, and now if I try to change them back as soon as I click ok it just goes to a black screen and does nothing.
  9. Well you could play about with the rudder response curves.
  10. You can enable/disable steering range, it should be "S" by default.
  11. Thanks, I'll give that a try :)
  12. I am trying to display the TEWS and MFD on a separate monitor, I have got the radar display working, by creating a lua file for the monitor, but I can't seem to get either of them to work, I was wondering if anyone knows what the in game names of them are, I know the MFD's, even though in the lua files the radar screen is referred to as an MFD, even though it isn't, but the actual MFD and the TEWS must be something else. I've tried "TEWS", "RWR" etc, and nothing seems to work. Any help on this would be appreciated.
  13. I'm editing a lua file and I want to display both the TEWS and maybe the stores MFD on a second screen, I've got the radar display working, but I was wondering what the names are of those two. I've tried TEWS and RWR, but nothing is displaying.
  14. GA planes should only be included if they can't kick you out of a server for using them as target practice.....
  15. It's a trainer version of a combat one, so no it is not a general aviation aircraft.
  16. That reads to me like they're referring to the AI ground vehicles, ships and aircraft, to add some realism, not that they intend it to be for general aviation.
  17. Got a connection for about 5 seconds now, but it dropped out again, any suggestions would be appreciated.
  18. I'm having real trouble getting this to connect to my PC, I'm trialing it on a Samsung galaxy tab 3, and it is always saying disconnected, I've tried my PC's network name, and the IP address, it is currently not unlocked, but I would have thought you could still get a connection. Any help would be appreciated.
  19. I've been trying for ages to get that working, it seems to not want to play, I can't get a connection between it and my PC. Do you know if anyone on here is involved in that, it is exactly what I need, but before I buy it (and a couple of tablets to use) I need to make sure it works.
  20. You don't know if those tanks were full or empty, if empty then they don't really weigh a lot, the F-35's is all internal. That isn't the only thing going on in a turn, it's obvious that induced lift, and induced drag increase, but the question is whether that increase is enough to make the F-35's overall drag higher than the F-16's overall drag.
  21. I did see a thread about that, from what I saw it seems like it cost as much as a module for DCS, if it works exactly as I want it to I may go for it, but I'd want to use it on two tablets, one for each MFD, so I'll probably have to buy twice, which puts it around the £60 mark. I'll give it a go later and see if it does what I want, thanks.
  22. I don't think it would, the F-35 will tend to keep its speed up while turning because it isn't generating as much drag as the F-16... Its induced drag at high AoA will be higher, but it won't be at high AoA's all the time, if it kept to the same limit as the F-16 of 25 degrees it will only have fractionally more induced drag, but it has the advantage ALL THE TIME of not generating as much form or skin friction drag due to it storing all weapons internally if configured for stealth. My bet would be that that advantage in form and skin friction drag would outweigh the temporary induced drag while turning hard overall.
  23. No, you're pretty much on the money there, the F-35's wing loading is higher, so at the same speed it will have to fly at a higher AoA to achieve the same lift. The thing is as was mentioned earlier, the F-16 is limited to 25 degrees, the F-35 is twice that, meaning it can stay in a turn at a lower speed, and it will probably have a much higher instantaneous turn rate, which is more important than sustained turn rate, as it's more likely that if you're in an F-35 in a close in dogfight you'll want to put your nose on the target, or at least near to on target, and fire off a 9X with the HMS, and in that case you're not looking for sustained turns, but a sharp instantaneous turn to just point the nose and fire. That said, the F-35 is not going to be a slouch in sustained turn rates either, it is very low drag, due to it carrying weapons internally, where the F-16 is all external.
  24. I already have the TM Warthog, and saitek pedals. What I want to do is get a pair of the TM mfds, and I was wondering if there is a way to use a couple of ipads or galaxy tabs, and export just the a section of the screen to them, mainly either MFD's and/or the TEWS, depending on what I'm flying, basically I want to simulate how the MFDs actually work. Any advice about how to do this would be appreciated.
  25. :) for the T-bird pilot, glad he made it out. :( for the Blue Angels aviator.
