LOL.

The boom in DCS isn't modelled correctly so don't feel bad if your find it difficult. It seems that it only has half the range of telescoping motion that it should have, in the pic you posted of the boom only half of the coloured bands are present (or at least were at the time of the last patch when I last a-a refueled the F-15) and the lights were not working right either. The main advice I'd give is be smooth, approach slowly, and practice practice practice.
-
You offered nothing that was relevant to the situation I was in, you don't know how the mission was set up, how they were paired, had a single perspective rather than a 3D one. It was nothing but criticism, so refer back to my previous post, and it goes for a couple others who "offered" nothing either.
-
Nothing was offered as advice of what should have been done in that situation, only criticism. So I think the only reasonable response now from me is "screw you".
-
By turning from one group to the other and back again that provides crank.
-
"Btw. flying M1.8 straight into 2 groups of bandits with virtually no crank is a real good way to get yourself killed." Now I know you didn't actually pay attention to what I was doing, firstly I was at most 1.6, and the whole point was to give my missiles as much speed at launch. The whole idea was get missiles off at as many bandits as possible as fast as possible and get them all defensive, and it works, only one of them didn't get a 120 fired at them, and because I was turning enough to force my missiles to go pitbull each of them suddenly realised they had a 120 heading to them and had to go defensive, which meant all their Radar R-27's suddenly lost guidance, leaving me to only worry about the TE's, during which time I turned and extended.
-
I've got the actual track, and can move the camera around and check the ranges, and positions in 3D.....
-
My first missile is actually fired at about 44km from target #1, the second at about 34km against target #2, at 41km for #3, and then I disengaged. Target #2 and #3 were killed, 1 ran north, I ran south, I shot at #4 at 8km, then after being briefly defensive against #4 I turned back to #1 and shot at him at 25km, damaged him, I saw a trail of leaking fuel, so went in close and finshed him with a 9M.
-
"Other crucial mistake: you just bracketed yourself with their flights." Again, no, the perspective, speed and time compression makes it look like this is close range, it is not, at no point was I between them, I was never bracketed, I always intended to fire at them, put them on the defensive, and then turn and run, and then re-engage them after extending while they were busy dealing with/getting blown to bits by by slammers. I'd rather have put the actual track file up, but it is 12mb, and the forums won't let me anyway.

That's not at low altitude. If you look at it full screen, the fight starts at about 8km alt, it just looks like its low level because of the perspective and the speed I am going, and it is sped up, top left corner.
-
Thanks, it was probably the best fight I've ever had on there in SP.
-
Oh and no labels used...

[ame] [/ame] This is in single player, all AI are set to excellent, wingman is pretty useless as the fight was pretty much over by the time he got there....

This is a bit of request and a question.... VR is starting to get there, I'll not be investing in anything in this generation of headsets, I'll probably go for the next version of the Oculus or Vive, the resolution is simply not there yet, it really needs to be at least twice the res it is now to be usable IMO. What I am hoping for is that the hand/gesture controls become more ergonomic, where they'll one day essentially be a pair of gloves, so you can still use your flight controllers. What I am thinking, and hoping that DCS do, is that they will add pilot models to the cockpits of all aircraft, so that you can literally reach out and press the button, and if we have things like the TM MFD, that you could arrange them so that you get some tactile feedback, you reach for the control in the VR space, and find that it lines up with the real one sitting on your desk, obviously you'd need to spend some time putting it in place. The actual controls would be via the MFD, not the clickable pit, as getting them aligned that well may be an issue, but as long as you're close enough you'll find the buttons. It would be nice to see your hand reach out to say the left MFD, PB7 for example, and that is roughly where your real hand is.

Just got tacview, can't upload?
Capn kamikaze replied to Capn kamikaze's topic in F-15C for DCS World
Ok, fair enough, thanks. -
I tried uploading a file to here so I could share it, but it said something about a "security ticket" and it wouldn't let me.

Recently it seems that weapons have either been made less powerful or planes tougher. I've been getting a lot of hits recently with the AIM-120 and have noticed that more often it results in damage rather than a kill as it had in the past. This is against multiple targets, Su-25's which seems more plausible, but also against Su-27's and MiG-29's. Has something been deliberately changed, or accidentally broken? For example I made a recent mission to hunt down an A-50 protected by a screen of four Su-27's, I killed the Su-27's, and let my wingman kill the A-50, it took him two AIM-120's and an AIM-9, first a 120, then the 9, then the second 120, because the A-50 was running, and all were hits. After the first 120 and the 9 the A-50 looked like this.....

F-15C's A.I. taxi problems
Capn kamikaze replied to Apache600's topic in Aircraft AI Bugs (Non-Combined Arms)
Still got this sort of thing, my wingman always stops on the runway and just sits there. -
AI A10c stops at runway
Capn kamikaze replied to qmaster312's topic in Aircraft AI Bugs (Non-Combined Arms)
This is still happening, my F-15 wingman does the same. How can ED be this slow to fix things? I'm starting to really wonder about them, is it just that they're focusing on things they can charge for rather than actual bug fixing, such as the F/A-18 etc? It seems that the only time we get a patch is when it adds a new aircraft, and then to patch that aircraft, not one that actually fixes bugs with DCS itself. -
There isn't that much, but the timings of certain events took a while to get right, I suppose I could write them down and try to rebuild it. It would be nice if ED could change it so we could control the coalition at any point during the build process, not just at the start.
-
Is there any way to change the coalitions after you've made a mission, I now want to add insurgents to the other side, and I'd rather not rebuild the mission from scratch, so is there a way to edit it?
-
There is a Buc in development and as of this time it is to be free.
-
Sorted it now, cheers.
