  2. I think your right, time will only tell. It certainly feels more complete and has less noticeable bugs. Don’t get me wrong I’m not happy about the state of the harrier or mirage either but I just wanted to give Razbam a tiny bit of slack on account of the fact that standards here are pretty high considering it’s age and availability of information on it.
  3. Mine was a 2070 I had issues until I rolled back
  4. I tend to agree lol we just have fun with the Jeff, no one has clipboards out ;)
  5. Here’s the thing about the Jeff though no one I’ve talked to has documentation on it. Whereas he harrier’s are all over the Internet. So while lots of systems are in and “working” we cannot nitpick the way we can with the harrier. In it we just have Derka’s word it’s correct. IMO that’s very convenient for them. No way to know if what we have in game has any semblance to RL JF-17 unlike the harrier, where we have loads of documents and pilot testimonies.
  6. Yeah I guess I forget sometimes how much politics come in too play during fighter procurement. It seems to me if we’re deciding that F-35 is not for us then why not throw all the eggs in the Eurofighter basket? Since it’ll both help their industry going forward and give them the capacity they need. The only reason we’re talking super hornet is because, like most US 4th gen fighters, it’s a fully mature system, but the reason it’s fully mature is because the US operators completely committed to it. When they needed a new capability they retrofitted it, rather then look for a completely new airframe. That could have been the Eurofighter if they had wanted. Then it wouldn’t be the list of “planned” or “wish list of capabilities” that it’s become. It’d be a fully mature combat system like the hornet or eagle etc. That would, in and of itself, save money as the jet would be much more attractive to third parties as the developmental work would already be finished and you have a complete package with no strings attached that you can market to other nations. But decisions like this end up costing you in the long run because you have to start from scratch every time you want something. You either spend a lot at the beginning of development and save money later or you spend a lot all the time lol :)
  7. No I disagree, I can pick individual wings off a F-5 now. I killed a pilot the other day by putting the dot on his helmet. First tracer got him. No spray and pray for me.
  8. I see, It just interesting that the "Don't buy American" doctrine only applies to F-35 but not super bug, because I remember when they said, "hard pass on the lighting" :) Kinda feels like there is some sidestepping and some back peddling going on now. lol As far as France goes you'd think they would have a problem with more Eurofighters too. Don't get me wrong I'm happy the world is getting more Hornets but It just seems like the F-35 would be much better suited to the task of delivering tactical nukes in this day and age, and several of its operators want that exact same capability out of the aircraft. But what do I know. At this point it seems like a Canada situation, where we don't want the F-35 "just because" and now they've said that. They're out scrambling to find a jet that basically does the exact same things...Ergo Block 3 Super hornets!
  9. Right on target it for me
  10. Yeah I don’t see why not, if they can get enough info for it. I just want to us to have something as different as possible to what we have now. I would really like an EA-18G but I HIGHLY doubt we will see that or any dedicated EW platform anytime soon.
  11. Apparently they want it too carry B61s but it can't ATM because its not yet certified too and they didn't want the F-35A because it can't either as its not yet certified too??
  12. Yes RL combat aviation is “pay to win” you want a jet half the cost of an F-16 there you go. But It’s probably not going to beat the F-16, maybe you don’t need it too and that’s fine, but it’s certainly not going to beat an aircraft that is twice as expensive as the F-16 itself. That’s not a reasonable expectation. Regardless of what you put on it. That’s like buying a fully loaded Honda Civic and then complaining it’s not competitive with a Ferrari. It’s just not reasonable. You paid a fraction of the price and while the Honda may have more convenient features and you can do A LOT more with it, then the Ferrari, no one would expect it win out on the track.
  13. I’m working on a bunch of realistic training sorties in NTTR based on a RL syllabus. It would mean a world of immersion for me to have all the captive/inert weapons to choose from. Also for the purpose of replicating RL images, another pass time of mine.
  14. I’m resurrecting this thread, I think my ideal choice would be a lot 26 F with APG-73. For two seats and the new displays to give it lots of separation between our legacy lot 20 C. It would add a lot of authenticity to a mid 2000s CSG and fit very nicely into DCSWs navel composition.
  15. IMO it dogfights very well. It fights very similar to the hornet, just less crispy but with more feedback it’s great for high AOA pounces and low and slow is the name of the game, just like the bug. Have to be more gentle with the controls though, the FCS is not as smart. But Overall I find it very nimble.
  16. I read a little about it, apparently its more then a little improvement. The pilot in the interview said it increased the roll rate by 100 percent and significantly improved its high AOA stability. https://www.flightglobal.com/airbus-dands-completes-typhoon-aerodynamic-testing/117638.article
  17. But the AMK to date is still an unfunded upgrade like TVC nozzles and CFTs right? They did the developmental work and put together an upgrade roadmap, but none of the customers or partners have actually purchased it, or am I mistaken?
  18. Good advice above, also the manual is very well written. As far as youtube goes Personally I like Jabbers, Tricker, and Spudknocker's videos. All of them do pretty solid research and give good tips and advice, for actually flying the jet and "doing" things correctly. Jabbers has a great entry level CASE 1 recovery video, and they are pretty fun and light, easy to watch. Honestly though as far as learning systems goes Wag's videos are the best. He gets right to the point and goes step by step, and they build on each other. So if your worried about all the digital systems his videos should be your go too. I would steer clear of Grim Reapers and Red Kite. GR tend to be straight up wrong or they leave out very important base knowledge about the system. Red Kite is not as bad but he also leaves things out a lot. Those videos tend to focus on how you do things from a gaming perspective vs a simulator perspective if that makes sense. They teach you what buttons to push to get a specific result rather then explain how the systems work. Which IMO doesn't give you the tools you need to be a good driver.
  19. It seems like it’s the CM counters on the SA page causing the problem. Because when I would turn off the dispenser it would also return the FPS to normal. Turning off the dispenser removes the counters on the page
  20. They are, if you wait until you hear the specific warning and then press master warning it cancels it. You only need to press it a couple times but you have to press it right after each separate voice warning is heard for it to work. The real bug is it doesn’t count presses of the switch until then. Otherwise it works just like the quote from NATOPS above.
  21. Don’t forget: The missing Aim-9 rail textures, OBC checks, half the bits on the master test panel, all the radio bits, All the circuit breakers, the missing oxygen panel and the forestal. Many of those things I mentioned are part of the cold start procedure. A very basic and standard DCS benchmark of a module. It’s pretty far from finished IMO especially considering the rate at which they are releasing new features. When you look close at any module you’ll find cracks and missing bits and a slew of bugs. HB did the exact same thing that people were complaining about above, they focused on the gameplay elements and left the in depth systems for later. Same story on the hornet, same story everywhere the tomcat wasn’t an exception. People just get mesmerized by it, and all of a sudden those guys are perfect and we can overlook things.
  22. I hope it doesn't all get broke when ED releases the "official" APIs #MiG-21Bis
  23. It worked for me, now I'm at 442.74 Rock solid again. Maybe try DCS repair?
  24. That I can understand.
  25. I’m all for fixing bugs too, but someone a few posts back said they stopped playing because of it...that’s pretty dramatic. Seems like a pretty silly thing to let ruin your ENTIRE experience. What I’m saying is you don’t need it because it’s a short range interceptor, and no I don’t “bomb” with it. It’s a short range interceptor. Flew in a thunderstorm last night, didn’t need to touch ARK, I preset it ahead of time, I plan out all my missions. Especially in the MiG-19P Because it’s a short range interceptor. ;) Air-air gun fights is literally what it was built for.
