They won't deploy above 250 knots regardless of the switch position.

I'll say it again: Old? Check. Post WW2? Check. Already Mentioned on this forum? Check. Hard to fly? Check. Not a helicopter? Check. Mind-Melting? Absolutely. XF-85 Confirmed

I'm probably overeating but its just frustrating when they make statement after statement that they want to deliver things but when update day rolls around they're out to lunch. lol :D -
Happy Carrier Day!!!

First of all ouch lol second I've got nothing against Derka in particular I distrust ALL the third parties. And besisdes that for all we know they were referring to HB because the Viggan has it too. -

It's the principal homie, I could care less about A2G radar, but it's quite the news to me that ED is using third party aircraft as test beds. I always thought the was what the hornet was for...you know... Because they've said that. Hornet has been here for two years but now we gotta wait because it might inconvenience owners of a product that's been here 5 seconds. I wanna know when this strategy began, because ED has updated the core for their products plenty of times with some new feature and borked a bunch of third party aircraft. Yet Never once have I heard them do something like this. Where an update is postponed because of the effect it might have on a completely separate project. -

https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4337181&postcount=186 Mini update, According to Kate the A2G radar modes and SLAM were ready for tomorrow but they decided to hold off as some of the improvements break third party Implementations. (we're guessing Derka, she doesn't specify but It's pretty obvious since they are the only ones with a Man in the loop weapon and A2G Radar which according to them uses official DCSW API for surface radar) -

I'm not mad that Derka used the APIs I'm mad that it is now a hornet problem that they did. And your right that one is on ED. They did not have to provide the APIs and they didn't have to hold off on hornet updates for the sake of Jeff but they did and they did. Now we're into June, whats the next excuse gonna be?? Sorry we couldn't release the New Amraam updates because it would break SD-10...Sorry we couldn't release FLIR because it would break TCS on the Tomcat. This is not a sustainable way of doing things. Third parties need to follow EDs lead not the other way around. Jeff updates and maintenance should take a back seat to hornet development, or that very least not hamper it in any way. It's great that Derka has the Jeff in the state that its in, I'm happy for them. But it definitely shouldn't be at the hornet's or any other older modules expense. -

Your making a lot of assumptions, all I have to go of is what they said: Hornet Development is now delayed because third party aircraft would be adversely affected period If you cannot see the inherent problem with that policy then I cant reason with you. Listen I'm mad about their definitions of EA and Release status too and I share your concern that development will slow down once that status gets changed, but that is a 2021 problem and has not in fact happened yet. These issues are happening RIGHT now and are not assumptions. Hornet progress took a hit because of the F-16 last year and now it's apparently happening again. -

Wizard_03 replied to flankerjun's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
In this case doing: "what they can with what they have" has directly impacted hornet progress and development for both A2G radar and SLAM according to the horses mouth. Imagine how people who own the hornet and don't own JF-17 feel now they have to wait because Derka decided to rush ahead on their completely separate project. IMO ED should implement their radar right now and let Derka deal with the consequences of jumping ahead. Instead of punishing hornet owners. But I guess we can wait some more. Right? It's only been two years. If you can't do something right it's not worth doing at all. The real double standard is how everyone can jump down EDs throat and let Derka, and half the other third parties who practice that, slide . -
Hahahaha it's true. The results of that poll made me pretty upset with the community

Yeah who gives a shit, it's better then 27 broken features that have to be re-done. @Derka @Razbam @magnitude -

Well what do you know! Third parties that implemented systems ahead of EDs official APIs are now holding up Development..I don't wanna hear anymore about how Derka had A2G radar on their product first.. if it's not done right it's not done. -
The AA modes require AZ/El page I believe

No they are referring, I think, to mid-course guidance. Missiles make abrupt energy draining maneuvers as soon as they go pitbull. Another thing that REALLY irritates me is: the ASE, the steering dot, and NIRD are all incorrect. Essentially none of the HUD targeting cues reflect the situation your in. -
We need to have this thread stickied.

F/A18E/F Super Hornets block 1 and BLock 2 E/F ( lot 26)
Wizard_03 replied to Kev2go's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Just having the Rhino for the purpose of A2A tanking is IMO necessary for realism with current DCS US Naval Assets. The S-3 was retired completely from the boat in 09 and was well on it's way out in the "Mid-2000s" if we're using the current hornet as a starting point. Not to mention the fact that the Rhino by that time was getting pretty prolific in the fleet. Not having one in DCS at all in any form, breaks with reality for that time period. -
See I'm probably in the minority here but just having the ability to do multi-crew is enough for me. Having a real person in the back is far superior to an AI, Jester is good but flights with him are actually more work for me, because I feel like I need to baby sit him and constantly tell him how to do his job lol. Don't get me wrong though he adds lots of immersion and is IMHO absolutely essential for that particular platform in this game when your solo or in SP. However when it comes to the F-15E, sure having a back seat AI would add some more immersion and fidelity but the way I see actual day to day use in game with solo play or SP is going to be something like this; Me bringing up the radial menu and finding the right command and saying "hey WSO do this task for me" or I can save ten seconds and do it myself...So Yeah it'd be cool for sure but I just don't see myself actually using it to the degree you HAVE to in DCS: F-14. I know that's not how it works in the real deal but it is what it is for DCS. If you want to get hyper realism, you should find a buddy and do multi-crew. Perhaps some refinement is in order for Jester down the road but that's my hot take on back seat AIs

No Im pretty sure it's actually going be downloaded to your PC for all time so even when your not playing DCS you can see the ball.

No I respectfully disagree. From where I sit its actual communications, They missed an estimate, whatever it happens, no big deal. Most of the community understands. What is a big deal is the radio silence after the fact, "Ok so you've missed a release target, now what??" IMO they need too follow that failure up with a revised estimate or the new game plan or whatever you want to call it, and keep the updates on that specific product flowing, until they catch up or it gets resolved. It's basic customer service. Even if the status has not changed yet, keep us informed. We as the community consistently get left in the dark as to when the plan changes and problems arise that push back development timetables. For example Its been weeks since we found out the SC was gonna be delayed and since then we have had only one "update" on its status, nothing about the new targets for delivery, nothing about the status of those issues that prevented its release since the day we heard about them. Good or Bad. That silence is what creates pandemonium and toxicity towards ED on these forums and other platforms. We don't know whats going on so we can only guess. I try to give ED and the third parties the benefit of the doubt but that's because I'm used to it and have been here for a minute. New players have no idea what they are getting into and I can understand how furious they get when their expectations are not met. Managing those expectations is ED's responsibility. I'm not trying to stir the pot or throw shade on ED just sharing the POV I have from where I sit.

Hahaha :D exactly. Yeah nothing I love more then having to un-learn things that we're wrong from the start...I guess its better then nothing, but I agree. It sure is wonky right now. lol

It’s when the dispenser is on and the CM counters appear on the SA page, one or the other is ok, both (dispenser on, and SA page up) cause the dip in frames
