Cockpit on the 19 looks fantastic looking forward to the MiG-23!
-
The Altitude warning definitely had one, prior to 2.5.6. I set it every flight not sure when exactly it went away, But I'm pretty sure CSEL had one too. I was under the impression that ANY data entry into the UFC via OSB has a colon to indicate it's the selected option for the keypad even if only one field is available for editing.
-
There you go, It looks like it works some of the time but not for every setting page. CSEL is and the Altitude warning settings don't have the colon. AP modes DL settings and TACAN do apparently.
-
Anyone experiencing any issues with the new drivers? I'm still on 445.87 but I didn't want to get the new ones without checking since the last time they borked a bunch of things for DCS.
-
When selecting OSBs on the UFC the selected option is not Colonized on the scratchpad. For example, If I want use CSEL the OSB next to CSEL is not colonized after pressing it, the functionality works but the colon is missing. It's missing for a few other UFC functions, but is present for others. Thanks! *Edited for testing* Hornet Colonization Bug.trk

2070 with 2D and shadows at flat here. Performance is a little smoother for me. No more wild FPS fluctuations. Can really only get the frames to dip while panning with external view. Inside the cockpit its solid right up to limiter everywhere I go even while looking at the island. Gonna test traps at different times of day to see if the LOD changes cause any problems in close like they used too. Also Static hornets seem to hurt a lot less. I loaded a supercarrier with 3 squadrons worth and it didn't phase my frames.

Can someone help.me.settle.the burner on takeoff debate
Wizard_03 replied to Sublimearrepentido's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Yep very easy to tell from pictures if we're looking at TF-30s or GEs let's see some of these pictures. I've never seen one with GEs at AB on launch. -
Does undesignate get hung up with dumb bombs too or just JDAMs?
-
Anyone try using JDAM erase to clear the designation for the bomb itself?

Progress pictures on the Eurofighter Typhoon
Wizard_03 replied to DashTrueGrit's topic in DCS: Eurofighter
I agree with you, having them do all the CFD work with the same team/program should help to eliminate bias. Even if the result is not completely "accurate" to RW the missiles will be accurate with relation to each other in Sim from a purely aerodynamic standpoint. Which is a step in the right direction. As far as actual effectiveness goes though, your also right, I think a huge misconception on these forums is that Kinematics is the most important aspect with regards to actual PK and IRL its probably the least important. :D For meteor again, That's great that it can touch me at the ranges they publish, and I believe it. But the real question is, how well can it see me at pitbull with such a huge RTR zone? Does the seeker work good enough in a heavy EW environment? What kind of database of RF threats does MBDA have to incorporate into the weapons counter countermeasures? How vulnerable is it's datalink to Jamming? How effective are it's degraded modes? Your going to run into at lot of questions like that before we get into how Fast? how High? ect. kinds of questions. -
Harrier - Time to start putting disclaimers on?

Interesting If your talking about AAA I feel the exact opposite, all the AI gunners use laser guns and can comfortably hit you right a max range if you set them to excellent. I've been turned into Swiss cheese by a HUMVEE in the A-10C more times then I can count. I breath a sigh of relief when I know someones using CA against me. Because they can miss. lol Anyways for your OP issue My guess is Zus is waiting for proper FLIR implementation from ED so he doesn't have to redo it twice. -
Yep confirmed, It's a shame as the wet deck effects on the carrier during the day look outstanding, but hyperspace rain takes you right back out of it.
-
2070 @1920x1080p 60 Hz monitor here, with Vsync off Flat Shadows I get about 90 - 120 FPS on the deck as pan the view around to the Island FPS drops to 60 - 70. With Vsync on its 60 - 40 depending on if the Island is in view.

Progress pictures on the Eurofighter Typhoon

According to this post, ED will be making that call as weapons will henceforth only be developed in house. Guess we've got too many issues with third parties making guesses about missile Kinematics. lol https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4347073&postcount=52 -
I think they're so accurate they make your buddies on the ground duck too. :P
-
That may be the most believable thing I've heard on this thread.

I agree it makes perfect sense, BTW I don't mean to degrade their work. I think the DCS hornet is fantastic, I just think people need to take a step back and see things for what they are. The hornet is pretty darn good representation of the real thing. But 100 percent fidelity in all respects is just not reasonable. Or even desirable really to most users I think. Personally I'm glad they went the route they did, If they can't get documentation for something don't guess, this IMO is the next best thing.
-
I think the misinterpretation here is that mid-2000s USN navy lot 20 hornet with field modifications and updates from that time period was a GOAL not a PLEDGE. Its simply not possible to completely replicate an aircraft as equipped to that level of detail, The complexity of that statement is unrealistic to demand, because unless you we're there and helped build the thing, your not going to get EVERYTHING right. Never mind the documentation required. Here's a news flash: LOT 20 hornets from that time period did not use OFP-13C yet that's what we have...no one is loosing their mind over that? Why? because we have representation of a hornet not an actual one, the only reason people care so much about the LPOD is because its not what THEY saw on Youtube. However when we get down to it people don't really care, they don't care that our hornet IRL at that time did not use BRU-55s, they don't care that LITENING wouldn't have been used at all on Lot 20 birds, and if it could/was certainly not on station 4, or the laundry list of other minor inaccuracies. Realism, I've come to notice on these forums is; is very selective, and pretty much dependent on people preconceptions. So calm down! When ATFLIR gets here I guarantee people will forget that LITENING is even in the game. But for now you can go about your marry way self lasing targets with 8 bomb load outs on the airquake servers.
-
What they outta do is remove LITENING completely since no Lot 20 bird used one in the mid 2000s as no USMC or SAF squadron HAD lot 20 hornets in the mid 2000s all the Lot 20s went to the USN it wasn't until last year that the Marines even got them. If we wanna get really realistic here

From the store page: Recommended system requirements (HIGH graphics settings): OS 64-bit Windows 8/10; DirectX11; CPU: Core i5+ at 3+ GHz or AMD FX / Ryzen; RAM: 16 GB (32 GB for heavy missions); Free hard disk space: 120 GB on Solid State Drive (SSD); Discrete video card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 / AMD Radeon RX VEGA 56 with 8GB VRAM or better; Joystick; requires internet activation. So According to this a 1070 should allow you to run high settings and still have good Frames. 60 plus would be reasonable IMHO. I'm exceeding all of those recommendations Significantly in some cases and still seeing performance excursions It's not horrifying but it seems some optimization is in order on ED's side according to their own recommendations here and in the user manual.
-
Yeah I wonder why we can't chose specific parking spots like at an airfield, the manual says parking is determined by the order of aircraft assigned to the boat.
-
I mean without Vsync I get 90 plus everywhere and when I look at the island it drops to 58-60ish. I have a brand new card and my monitor is super old. Shouldn't have dips like that, it points to optimization problems.
-
i7-9700K w 2070 here, 1920x1080@60Hz with Vsync on I get solid 60 FPS looking around on deck. with my GPU usage around 92-95% using about 7GB of Vram, the second I look at the island GPU usage drops below 60% and VRAM usage goes to 4GB and my FPS goes to half. CPU core 0 stays around 40ish % I think there is an optimization problem maybe a memory leak.
-
Your visibility range is on ultra and your have a 1070 that's your problem you need to fix one of those things
-
Tested and verified fixed with 445.87 works perfectly for me now, no more FPS dip. Thanks ED
