Head tracking works for Binocular view in CA, which makes aiming much more difficult. Because I can't find a view to disable it in controls, I just turn off Freetrack when I join CA.

Great find! I found it so frustrating to be seen by AI while hidden behind structures or inside a forest. Now even more, because AGM-65's changed trajectory provides kills for AI planes when you're behind even two to three story buildings.

Did the ground terrain just take a huge leap forward in awesome?

Concerning Caucasus map, roads still hang above ground which is quite visible at hills/mountains, as some other layers at some places. -
I remember this bug from long ago. Still here. Not sure why, but with default zoom, illumination used to be there, but when zoomed in, there was no illumination. The only way to tell target area is illuminated is to keep zooming out/in, or if Shkval would get an Auto-lock.

You can also use AI Su-34 with Kh-59 cruise missiles. It's try and error practice, but I got them to work in one mission I made some time ago. I guess many other planes have similar capabilities.

Agree, those smoke too much. Malyutka is especially bad. If it were steered like it is in real life (MCLOS), there would be no hits at all.

Want Warthog, too. But need to make some rudder pedals for it.

I'd like to apply for a chance to fly MiG-21. I didn't win, if I remember correctly, anything in last years. Related to sims, never did. But to be honest, I believe the first thing I would do, should I win this flying rocket, is to equip her cockpit with cigar lighter. :)

Nice, Tiger. I've been following your Twitch channel couple of weeks already ;) .

After the latest patches and slightly changed interface, game crash upon destruction of Tor while in Ctrl+F10 view still occurs. Also, Lock lamp doesn't light up when target is locked.

I would really like to participate. My current stable is quite modest now and that horsie named after a bird looks really nice. Merry Christmas to all. Rabb03

Thank you for such an opportunity. My entry:

Crash also here. I made a simple mission for practicing missile and aircraft interception, and game crash is reproduced each and every time when Tor gets destroyed while I'm in radar screen, ie. Ctrl+F10 view. If I change view to external, or F1 view, game doesn't crash upon destruction of Tor. Also, I'd like to add that it is very challenging to intercept missiles manually, especially fast ones like Kh-25ML or AGM-88. Detection range is low and given 8 seconds for obtaining lock it usually gets me killed. So far, I'm achieving much better (3-4 times better) results with Tunguska, both with missiles and guns.

I support the proposals. Since crew member voices are now included, it would be most welcome addition to have friendly units report when they're being fired upon. Considering that reporting all contacts would be quite counter-productive (and even annoying) because it would be big distraction and can effectively jam communication channels, probably the best solution is to have one individual vehicle of the group to report fire. In case that vehicle is destroyed, the other takes the role of a leader/fire reporter. Also, it would've been great to have autonomous JTAC, by which I mean a CA player can designate certain vehicle to perform JTAC role and send it to a desired position, at which the vehicle would start designating targets and/or even giving elements to artillery.

MiG=-29S: There is no needle for engine No2 inside RPM dial. Fuel gauge isn't working. Also, I noticed warning lights are inactive, or is it supposed to be that way? No afterburner lights, for example. On landing, braking parachute is transparent when seen from behind. Fuchs: There is a transparent, irregularly shaped texture over gunsight. Cobra APC: No sound when firing. Patton: Similar as MiG-29 parachute - some textures like tracks, bins, etc are transparent from one side.

Me, too. But it is a slim chance I'll have one any time soon. -
This is the low texture setting for Su-25A, maximum zoom (same applies to Su-25T): and this is the Medium texture setting for Su-25A: I read a lot about this issue, and I know that solution had been to exclude instrument textures from texture quality scaling. However, these still need addressing.
-
Even zoomed in, inscriptions in medium setting are blurred a lot:
-
Also, that A-10C artificial horizon texture on medium setting is just...:
-
I read a lot about it, tried to solve it by playing with settings, hoped the issue to resolve with next update and even considered repeainting everything on my own, but in the end realized it wouldn't solve anything. Simply, at any texture quality setting other than high, Su-25 and Su-25T instruments are blurry (medium) or just plain unreadable (low). This includes lamps and other cockpit stuff. Unlike instruments, cockpit textures for A-10C become quite blurry, so you have to zoom view to read lettering. Even with backlight, inscriptions remain unreadable when using medium FoV. I am completely aware that monitor type/size/resolution play a role, but by having everything the same, personal feel is that texture display quality is significantly reduced in DCS World compared to DCS A-10C. I am using very crisp Horse of War A-10C cockpit textures.

Exactly. DCS is control-hungry. Player benefits from HOTAS and many analog inputs as well as buttons/switches. I also use X52Pro throttle, combined with MS SW FFB 2. All X52 throttles I've tried so far had spiking/jitter, as most joysticks I've used in years. Implementing such a feature shouldn't be a too big a problem, and it would please vast majority of players. For instance, I've been playing Il-2 since original release, and that sim/game had the feature implemented, if I am not mistaken, from day one.

Actually, it wouldn't keep target lock. So you will have to adjust manually. Completely agree. I find a manual mode as something that needs to be used only when situation requires it (pitch black darkness without illumination, staying out of SAM's reach, etc). Ease of use automatic mode provides you should be used in all other situations when you should be paying attention to some other things, and it gives you very high hit probability.
-
Similar problem here, also. Assigned new axes, cleared previous, but the non-assigned stick inputs the game still, just in opposite direction. Also, external view cannot be stopped to be still, but rotates forever. Chcked all axes, cleared all (really, all) axes and it doesn't stop.

@ShuRugal: After countless attempts, I finally managed to obtain filtering by using vJoy and Joystick Curves, yesterday. I did a lot of software tweaking during previous years, and used ingame filtering in the other game I've been playing for over a decade, and I can tell you that solution I applied yesterday is not working as good as it can. Also, in the process, driver for the X52Pro throttle completely messed up. So, I can confirm King_Hrothgar's opinion that external programs aren't good solution.
