I myself am not a huge fan of the LO F-15 and the tactics used by its pilots. Sometimes however I don't understand what the fuss is all about. I've said it before, We will fight with whatever we have. You want R-77's - go fly the MiG. This will in addition teach you to manage your fuel much better, and also make your search patterns more thorough and good, because of the limited range, you gotta work efficiently and fast, also react fast to threats. Last but not least - use teamwork. The same goes for the Flanker. Tougher eagles will give pilots of the russian birds more of a challenge, so whoever wants to get more proficient and better in air-combat, be it BVR or CAC, will benefit from this. Giving the flanker R-77s is not much of a solution... Yeah I would like to have 9 tons of fuel and 8 R-77s under my wings, but we will be back to the 'good old Full burners take off, climb, spam all of your ARH's, run fast and land' tactic. I'd like to play the game the way it was designed, so we'll just have to overcome some of the advantages of the eagles, by adapting and employing different strategies and tactics. I enjoy a kill much more when I outsmarted the enemy, and not out-fueled/out-ammo-ed, out-run him. That is the decision, not a fix for the flanker, but rather a fix in the thinking of how a fight against an eagle should be fought!

I seem to experience a weird problem. I took off(in MiG-29S), and everything was working. Then sometime into the mission, only the control axis seemed to respond, the keyboard and the joy buttons(which through Saitek SST are assigned to keyboard inputs seize to work). I needed to Alt+Tab out and then back to the game to regain full control. Happened on a MP flight in 104th Dedicated 30 mins ago, then I decided to try a flight in the quickstart missions - MiG-29S, and it happened again. I can control the axis, but button inputs are not working. The weird thing is that I have more than 10 flights in the MiG with the current control setup and hadn't experienced this problem... Maybe you should try an Overcast mod... look over at lockonfiles.com for BOBOCOP OVERCAST CLOUD MOD 3.1. I'm not really sure if it will work with FC2, but does well with FC1.12. Install with modman 7.2 and if doesn't work, you can easily remove it later. It should fix this issue, and you should have about the same fps with and without overcast.

As I don't have it(switching to med prf) mapped on my control setup, i prefer in such cases to use EOS, which of course gives you other advantages and disadvantages :)

I can't see any significant difference, except not being able to lock bandits, extending and at <15km in front of me in the Flanker. I don't know if that's more realistic, it's just unusual... Other than that, it feels much like the 1.12 radars :)

Well, I experimented a bit, and I found that both of my two cores were utilized while playing online. I mean both cores were working at 70-80%. This is on Win7 x64 with an old AMD Athlon X2 @ 3Ghz. The game runs smooth, so I'm quite happy with what I got :)

Well, afaik, the real MiG-29A can carry up to two R-27R's and R-73 or R-60. No ER's or T's or ET's(only the german MiG-29G can use 27T's). However the modernized versions can utilize the newer missile types, including R-77s.

I guess the payloads shown in-game on the runway are enforced by the server, and selected by the mission creator. So there shouldn't be any chance for you to edit them yourself while playing in a MP game. I'm not 100% sure on that, but that's the impression I'm left with after just one day of flying in FC2...

lol... and my bank requires me to fill the papers, create a new account, get a real Visa classic card, and after i receive it, I may try and create a virtual one... Which ain't gonna happen. Looking for another way of purchasing the game, this i think is a dead end.

You may go and try posting in the russian section... I saw some fellas complaining that they got the english version by mistake, maybe they will be willing to exchange the serials :)

Some already mentioned the basics, and just as Case said, if you find him early enough, you can use your range advantage. An ER fired from angels high, at a high bandit is a dangerous weapon, and if your bandit doesn't go defensive or take immediate actions, he is in a serious trouble. But when you see him turn his back on you, don't just fire up the burners and follow him... there may well be a few amraams on their way towards you. Keep cranking and staying safe while monitoring the bandit via radar or EOS if he is extending.

Well I have used my Visa Electron for online payment of a subscription worth 15$ on deviantart.com, so online payments are allowed by my bank. However creating a virtual Visa is not, so I am looking forward to anything that will allow me to pay the 30$ for FC2. I got the game installed, and all i need is a serial and activation code, so I'm really freakin' out when I know that I'm ready to pay and still I cannot...

It's uploaded on the FTP as I heard(EN version I mean)... ;)
