I edited that question to make it more clear: Will the Black Sea map in its current form work with EDGE benefits?
-
You cant. Use an older build for now or please be patient for the issue to be corrected.

Just sit tight guys. Its a known issue

Night ArgVisibility for Airport Model
luckybob9 replied to BS_Fighter's topic in 3D Modeling for DCS World
Runway lights are arg 27. Airport light files need to be declared in a corresponding configuration file before they will properly work I believe. The airport itself also needs to be declared so the game knows its a runway. -
Modelviewer might, however I think support for that has been discontinued

As people previously stated the ED team uses 3ds max and develop plugins only for that. At present time I have not heard of any plans for any other software. However if you are a student you can get 3ds max for free. You will need to read the license agreement to verify you are allowed to export models into a commercial product.
-
For regular people, aside from trying to figure out future things, dunno. I usually just match mine to release versions. If people are third party developers, it makes sense to match to the development builds since that is what you are developing for.

Will be corrected shortly

Video Tutorial for Animation Setup in 3ds Max
luckybob9 replied to Mode1961's topic in How To Mod for DCS World
not sure about the error. Collision models are a basic shape of the edm. They can be exported in the same file with the proper naming, or a second file with it being declared in the .lods file -
Video Tutorial for Animation Setup in 3ds Max
luckybob9 replied to Mode1961's topic in How To Mod for DCS World
few things to throw at you: It looks like you have dummy squares and dummy points for the wheels, only a dummy box is needed The rotation lock is not needed, uncheck all values to be safe if that is the issue I dont think a bounding box is needed. It was needed in the .lom model format, but I have have never used them since Your question about "keeping argument active". If you are referring the 'set active' in 3ds max, that is only for 3ds max and has no effect elsewhere. It is only so when you make changes, max knows what specific animation you are trying to change Instead of having three back wheel animations, (two wheels and one axle), you can link the axle to a wheel or link both wheels to the single axle Your axle animation needs key frames at every 90 rotation. It looks like you only have a 0 and 100 designated Wheels rotation only about 90 in model viewer: Did you configure the animation timing in max to be custom 100fps and NOT the standard NTSC 30fps? Same thing for wheel left and right turning. I THINK the enable animation thing you did activates all animations at once. So if this is what it does, it makes sense that since you have rotation and turning on the same dummy, and it tries to activate both at once, it will combine the two into the result that you see. If you want to send me the model I can take a closer look -
EDGE creations tools are not currently available to the public. From the first post: Typical questions that do not have answers: Will trees be collidable? Are the creation tools going to be made available to the public? What is the cost of Nevada if I did not pre-order DCS: A10C? When will new screenshots be posted? When will it be released?

What are your current steps? Proper way is: Add dummy helper. Allign it to rotation point of the wheel. Link the wheel to the dummy. Then animate the dummy helper at 90 degree increments. Change the curvature to liner. -
only ED knows reasons for anything that relates to this. However lets keep this thread on topic with discussion about the Nevada map and not the speculation on when/ who/ why/ how terrain tools will come out
-
Probably not a wise assumption.
-
Just to nitpick and clarify so there is no confusion, I believe the only official thing is that the Black Sea map is not going anyplace. Nothing has been say about whether there will be parallel renderers, or Black Sea will work inside EDGE, or another method. Unless I missed a statement from Wags

Winky face for the win!

Are you saying that you are afraid EDGE will never seen? It HAS been seen and official screenshots are here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=115306 Dev team doesn't really focus on it? Are you basing this off of that this thread was started two years ago? They very much are working on it and this thread was just a place to gather information to one location. The first thread has been edited numerous times when new information is officially posted, with the most recent edit being three days ago. The latest official information was posted only Nine days ago; "currently setting up the DCS code structure to handle EDGE-based terrain data" http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=115306

I'm loving that lighting in that shot. The rooftops and the softness of the illumination lights are beautiful

I completely agree that he probably does have that sense. However, when people post the same thing over and over "when will it be done", and the community tries to answer with "nobody knows, wait for an official update about it, etc", and that does not satisfy people because they are looking for an absolute answer, what more can we say except "It will be ready when it is done".
-
Silly one liners? It's actually the best answer you will get considering nobody knows and nobody can seem to understand that concept, so "when its done" is actually the best concrete answer available. Its like constantly asking 343 industries when will Halo 6 be released. Everyone knows it will be made, nobody knows a solid release date, so "when its done" is the best 'absolute' answer since nobody likes 'we have no information on a current release date'

This feature is no longer supported

screenshot of both please

It should. I believe they only go three versions back though. So earliest Max 2013 can do is 2010, earliest Max 2014 can do is 2011, etc
