    DCS: F-5E!

BST's website mentions the P & B, but I'd love me some AIM-9J & AIM-9P4 (if it can fire it of course) too personally.
  3. No need to be a condescending asshole, pal.

    DCS: F-5E!

It has flare & chaff dispensers on the fuselage afaik, I don't know if can dispense them individually or if it has to drop flare + chaff as a bundle like the MiG-21.

    Mirage F1

    Very unlikely on the F1EE.
  6. Honestly guys, what have I started here. Is just a colourful way of saying "I disagree". I'm not telling anyone what to think, I just disagree with wanting relatively obscure variants of iconic jets just so they can use ARH missiles.

    Mirage F1

    That's a lot of 250kg bombs.
  8. Rehost the article in a pastebin then surely?
  9. With period appropriate armament the F-4E wouldn't be too bad. AIM-7E/F & AIM-9J/L when ED? :P
  10. Which is a self defeating idea, of course there will be nothing but amraam slingers if people go out of their way to make relatively obscure ARH capable variants of legacy airframes and neglect their prime timelines. The F-4E is a 60s/70s airframe and to claim it doesn't have era appropriate contemporaries in DCS is being willfully ignorant at best. Currently in game or under development are the MiG-21, F-5E, Mirage F1 & AJS 37 (which is nigh identical to the 70s AJ 37 if you restrict its loadout). All of these are mid '70s birds, and will likely all be in the game before the F-4. Is this really not enough opponents to fight?
  11. F-4E I guess. The wrong opinion tbh, trying to shoehorn old jets into a 4th gen setting where they would underperform is silly when you could have them in their prime, fighting planes they were meant to fight and did fight in real life. Edit: I swear some people would try and argue for amraams on a Sopwith camel if it was in DCS so it could be "competitive in the multiplayer environment".

    Mirage F1

Wow, thanks that was fast. Am I the only person who kind of wants this as an option in the mission editor for '70s missions? :P

    Mirage F1

Incidentally, does anyone have any pictures of the older BF RWR that the Mirage F1 used earlier in its life?

    Mirage F1

To be honest I think you have to look at this plane in a 3rd gen environment. It's never going to be able play with the 4th gen bad boys in the A2A role. The F1 will be most at home flying with the F-5 & MiG-21. Perhaps with the Viggen too since we may be able to simulate a 1970s AJ 37 by just restricting its weapons load. I'm not a fan of people looking at modules as needing to be useful in a 4th gen multiplayer shitfest. I'm glad we're getting more '70s birds, it's a very interesting period in combat aviation.

    Mirage F1

Anyone have an idea of the introduction date on the E variant of this bird? I'm wondering if it would make a good opponent of the F-5E / MiG-21Bis or whether it is too modern with its fancy RWR & ECM.

    DCS: F-5E!

No, it means improving the simulation of the 'thermal vision' through targeting pods and the like.

    DCS: F-5E!

    Noice
  19. With no malice intended, they seen very 'flat' and matte compared to foxbat155 's version, which actually looks like a light whereas for some reason yours looks a bit like a sticker :/.
  20. lol An upgraded Draken model would fit into the emerging DCS 70's timeline nicely, with MiG-21, F-5E & AJ 37 (if the mission maker just restricted the Viggen's weapons to a 70s payload).

    DCS: F-5E!

Only AIM-9P and B are the confirmed A2A weapons, no Python-3s like in your picture there. Though It'd be nice if BST modeled a J as an intermediary missile between those two. As for 4 A2A pylons, good luck on that. AFAIK base model F-5Es just had a pair of wingtip pylons.

    ARMAT?

Frankly, I'd be fine if a realistic implementation of ARMAT could be implemented even if the exact version we have may or may not have been able to support it, ala Kh-66. However I would not think it a good idea if a realistic aproximation were not possible, if RAZBAM don't have much of an idea as to the target selection procedure / HUD symbology of the ARMAT in Mirage 2000 type fighters they shouldn't bother.
  23. Those pictures have always been there and are confirmed to be of no relevance to modules LN is working on, they're just stock images.
  24. Could anyone post a picture of what the warning lights look like at night please? They look pretty hard to read.
