Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 8
Voodooflies replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
Yeah, being shot down by a wreckage that is for sure something that has to be unexpected indeed. Yeah, below 2000 AGL @400kts, it sounds like a piece of cake considering the fact the target is litterally merged in a wreck ! Come on, I ain't a rookie, I'm just highlighting a glitch that needs a fix. I just wanna quote you once more as you tend to think I screwed up and the mission is perfectly fine, 100% bug free. Tell me about a plain shiny Strela hidding in another one... Here's one of the few Russian real life things that I know which is able to do this (without shooting at you though). -

By default, the wind is set on "m/s" trought the ME whereas it's more comon to talk about "knots" for most countries running JAA/FAA licenses. This might explain some weird wind tunings in my opinion, but well... that's just an assumption. Dear lord... Ermmmm, let's wait if BS team can solve or find a workaround regarding those jenga issues. That would be great. -

Well it wasn't a random SAM, this was EJ98. Dude, even with your Mk1 Eyeball, you can't distinguish this but the launch of the missile emerging from the black burned area that appears to be a wreck (which is visible on the previous screenshot). That's a bug, period. Nothing else to say, saying the opposite is just bad-faith or pure blindness. How the **** could you have such statement considering this as "normal" ? :noexpression: What are you talking about ? I ain't talking about a way to take out Strelas. Gun runs, M82SE and terrain masking do the job well enough with a M2KC against such targets. -

Jeez, you cant' be serious... It seems that your real life world ignores elementary physics rules between two solids. Enough internet for today. How about thinking about a fix ? Dunno how the mission is setup regarding targets spawn, but as far as I remember it should be possible to create random locations within a triggered area for vehicules to spawn in, with a random chance of occurence once a certain trigger is hit or a condition is completed. Awaiting Greg's answer regarding this. -

What's more terrible than being shot down by a Strela ? Well, being shot by a Strela in disguise #WTF... In fact, all the area was made of wrecks with active G2A defense on the exact same spot... Greg could you do something about that issue ? -

+1. It would be nice to have a more realistic weather. How about sparse/broken clouds with appropriate winds ? Aswell as fog ? Having a global METAR displayed upon connection or from time to time would be nice aswell as it would clarify runways usage. -

Continuous flare/chaff dispense when button held down
Voodooflies replied to iLOVEwindmills's topic in M-2000
There are programs regarding countermeasures management, just like in the A10C with AUTO/SEMI or C/C (manual) dispense, however I dunno if it was present in the french airforce at that time on this version of the M2KC. Anyway, it's not yet implemented. -
Magic_550.ogg is present, I don't get it. Even when I replace the original sdef and ogg file I still don't have that magic seeker sound. There's some kind of black magic stuff out there.
-
Issue appeared again after I installed DCS Sound Mod V5. However, there's no more MagicSeek.sdf in the sdef folder. Any hint on this ? The Magic seeking sound has vanished, I can't explain why.

Well, yes, I'm 100% agree with you on this mate. Blue Flag isn't a training server for sure and as it has been said multiple times it has high standards which doesn't suit for rookies. In the end, I just hope the Blue Flag experience will motivate people to dig deeper in the learning process. Thank you very much mate. -

We had organization at some time, but some people doesn't have enough experience with the sim yet. There are rookies everywhere, even in REDFOR but I rather be optimistic thinking that people will learn from Blue Flag experience. In first hand, recently, a lot of huge changes impacted the sim, such as SRS usage which required some familiarization for everyone. Blue Flag provides, by far, the best level of immersion and realism. As we discussed before, everyone has to be mature and responsible for this to work properly. In the other hand, I do fly on DCS for years, just like some people out here, I assume it's not that easy for rookies to be involved in such a structured virtual conflict. That said, as long as you are satisfied of you and your wingmen performance there is no need to be ashamed of anything. I personnally had a really good performance on this round; this is my reward for all the training session I made by my side, countless hours learning new stuff and practicing almost everyday, here's my own victory. Blue Flag isn't that chaotic, I had really good moments, especially yesterday night (UTC +1) when my flight package was GCI tasked on a CAP station and suddenly a package of F-15C (callsign: Cock 31/32) joined us up in formation for 20 min before they ended their vul time; it was such a cool moment, just like all those standard break arrivals we made. I'm confident that with some more time, knowledge & training, BLUFOR pilots will rise again and sharpen their skills to be more efficient in the next round. I do believe Blue Flag competition is the one and only event where you can truely express your talent publicly so bring it on ! -

As a GCI myself working for BLUFOR I would like to clarify some things regarding GCI facts you highlighted. As a GCI, I always try to establish coms with aircrafts within' my controlled area, for instance I recently was in charge of controlling the eastern airspace and I kept looking for new player to take care off, however the biggest problem is people who aren't on frequency. Some advises here, first, contact GCI only when you're airborne, I had few pilots who contacted my while on chocks so I couldn't take care of them, remain on 251.0 until the end of your departure. Once done, monitor to the GCI frequency (either 264.0 or 254.0, it depends of your current location as we have two GCIs who works togheter by splitting the whole airspace in half resulting having a GCI West and a GCI East), this "control split" is roughly related to PAKs area. Once you're tuned in, announce yourself by giving aircraft type and position so we can find you faster on the screen. Many GCI including myself are using a callsign within their nickname to claritfy things up even more (Magic, Sentry, Darkstar, and so on). Concerning the job itself, we don't see everything as it depends of our EWR setup on the battlefield wich extend our vision I believe, and sometimes there are some bugs that are corrected by changing slot, happened to me yesterday, I was blind for 30 min until I changed slot (guessing that's an ED side bug ?). Also, it's a good thing that some pilots report hostile contacts (relative to their aircraft or bulls) as sometimes picture appears to be clean whereas it's not. It happens that GCI has to "guess" for bandits as those aren't showing up on the map, that way, flight reports helps a lot and offers to GCI the possibility to divert other CAP flight packages to the "last known contact position". Finally, if you have to RTB for any reason (vul ending, winchester, joker/bingo), you can also warn the GCI to help him in his packages management, then he'll clear you to monitor to another frequency, most likely 251.0. :smilewink: -

Don't delete it ! This is gold ! -
I replaced the file but it didn't fix the problem, however deleting MagicSeek did the job ! Thanks Rlaxoxo.

Hmm with Rlaxoxo latest update to his soundmod we can't hear the Magic tone anymore. May you consider releasing an updated version sedenion ?

Hello mate, first of all thank you very much. It would be my pleasure to work with you, I think we should talk in private about this. As I said, each modules seems to be managed differently regarding the light system. Fixing RAZBAM lights was kinda easy as it was almost self explanatory, but official DCS modules seems to be a bit trickier. I had quickly look into the A10C files and I couldn't find the matching texture. However, the A10C lights aren't that bad but they tend to form a halo just like all modules on DCS while you dezoom which is absurd, so I dunno if those can be improved or if it's hard coded. For sure, FC3 aircrafts definetely need a huge rework, moreover those aircrafts are the ones the most played on DCS so I guess they deserved the priority. I'll send you some of my informations in private so we can discuss this togheter and try the figure out things on the subject. :smilewink:

You're right buddy. Anyway, if we do it like this, Buddy Spike admins will need to clarify frequency usage trought a video tutorial, .pdf file, -motd or else to make things clear. That said, I'm fine aswell using a single ATC frequency. I don't mind. But it will be indeed more realistic to tune in the homeplate frequency rather than a global frequency. By my side, the only things I do report on the GCI's channel are splashes by giving bullseye reference of the splash occurence, nothing else. GCI are sometimes blind or get a picture clear on their scope, so reporting such events may also raise global SA. "Magic, Charcot 22 splash bandit at bulls 067 for 254." Finally, it looks like red are having a hard time... -
Hey Rlaxoxo, I've been recently watching this video while trying to distinguish each sound between each other. The wind sound is clearly audible but I guess it sounds quieter while wearing the helmet. It appears there's an engine whistle which is affected by the throttle position, just like in F16 BMS and that's really great. Any chance you could add this to your soundmod ? [ame] [/ame]

Voodooflies replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
People gotta be more responsible when joining Blue Flag, it has been said for people applying as GCI since it can makes the difference between victory and defeat, but pilots are aswell concerns. Of course there are people who are still learning out there, or simply got enough and who don't wanna go deeper in the learning process. If pilots would match the radio frequency of their home plate using SRS instead of getting into one common ATC channel for every airfields that would clear the comms even more plus it matches more what's done in real life, so we're aiming more towards realism in that case at the same time. If they do not wish to join SRS, they can AT LEAST use the poor vanilla ATC menu comms to state their intentions, it still something. And well, if they do not want to do at least that, I'd probably start to loose faith. Being not on coms isn't responsible and it's pretty similar to drive a supercar going 310 km/h on the autobahn while being blindfolded... -

I don't get it, I didn't even mention Forward Observer usage as ATC. The main idea behind this is all about auto-information rather than player controlled ATC who would actually give you instructions. Frostie got it, spot on.
