Just checked, no, the audio definitely comes 6 NM before the indicated launch zone and that's in plan. The actual launch will be even later due to the spherical zone and higher altitude of your aircraft.

HI @omnijinx You will appreciate this Campaign was created about 4 years ago and since then many many thousands of pilots have flown it without this issue. It is the first time we have come across it. Having checked it, the problem is to do with a zone recognising the presence of the AGM 88C, it appears over the years the speed at which the Sim recognises missiles in zone appears to have adjusted, so, have had to adjust the zone to suit. We used zone missile detection rather than units death to account for missile inaccuracies which occur from time to time in updates. Have now also included unit death as check now. The reason your wing was hit is because you flew too close to the SA6 site before turning so they fired on you. Your wing followed you in and was the unlucky one that got hit rather than you. This had no impact on the fail as the wing was immune. Always have to make AI immune as they can not be trusted to remain alive. So mission has been updated with the fix and has been issued to ED and hopefully will be in next update. Thanks for the heads up

My Feedback on this Campaign
Badger633 replied to Taxman's topic in F/A-18C Rise of the Persian Lion Campaign
Hey @omnijinx The missiles in mission 8 are definitely Aim-9Ps. You are correct with the missiles in Mission 6 from the F4s , which I noticed you beat, thanks for the Tacview. So Mission 8 should be a much easier task. You can actually change the load outs if you want but they were selected to make the air fight a reasonable challenge. They also promote more close up dog fights which can be more interesting. Generally my Campaigns are thought of as much easier than many of the campaigns. As a designer it is a difficult balance to strike as some will find it hard and others easier dependant on how experienced the pilot is. The missions are normally about 1 hour long which is much shorter than a lot of the other campaigns, which can be twice that. -
My Feedback on this Campaign
Badger633 replied to Taxman's topic in F/A-18C Rise of the Persian Lion Campaign
@omnijinx You do not just have Aim9X if you check you also have one 120C. Although there are 4 F5’s your wing will deal with two of them. You will note from the radio calls you are to engage the two on the right so make sure you do that and leave the two on the left to your wing. If you use your radar correctly you can locate and take out one with the 120C. You can then engage the remaining F5 with your Aim9X missiles which when used with your head mounted display will allow you to fire at almost 90 degrees. This together with the better F18 performance will give you a massive advantage over the F4. It should also be noted that the F5s are armed with Aim9ps so rear aspect only compared to your 9Xs which are all aspect. -
M07: Something wrong?
Badger633 replied to johnhermes's topic in F/A-18C Operation Green Line Campaign
Hi @johnhermes Sorry about that, it appears to be a new vehicle routing bug. Have resolved see response below. -
Hey @KENNY1988 Yes, was made aware of it yesterday. Looks like a new DCS vehicle tracking bug. Have reported it and fixed it my end also. Will be in next update. Thanks for letting me know. Hope it hasn’t impacted any other missions.

Hey @quantumchance Yes, flying straight towards the tanker could trigger Matrix response. Try again approaching tanker from rear as normal, use your radar and SA page to position yourself. This however should have no impact on the radio calls. Make sure you are using the correct keys/bindings for Comm1 and Comm2. See below. Hope this helps.

Hey @alboon2000 Looked at the early radio conflicts you first brought up. Yes they are there, thanks for the heads up. Have now fixed the issue and will be in next update. Did not get conflicting take off and hold instructions. You get one message to line up and hold then a second to hold when lined up and a final one to take off. The refuel if a bug will be DCS's. Suggest you send them a Track file and lodge it on the main forum under bugs as I cannot address that. Thanks for the Tacview. Will have a look if the AI logic has changed things. The movement of Mig410 seems a bit strange. The ones engaging you though were on their way. Your problem was that you flew into the SAM kill zones it was they not the Migs that killed you. Keep clear of the zones, shown on your SA page and let them come to you. Hope this helps Below a Flying Kenny fly through.

Hey @alboon2000 I will check it out. Could you send me the track file, it would be really useful.

Hi @KodiakVFA143 I’m sorry but there is nothing I can do. It is only they that can resolve it. I will send them a note but you should report again. So the problem is the laser is not visible in the NVG and FLIR in the Quest3 but visible on the monitor? Is that correct?
-
Hey @ATD123 Sorry I don’t fully understand. Could you please send me a track so I can see exactly what is happening, or a Tacview file. I can then get it fixed. Did it happen more than once? Do you run any mods? What level did you play at Veteran or Ace? Thanks.

Hey @PhoenixFC3 Saw your comment on Steam. Regarding mission 11 and the problem you had with AI, what level did you fly it on, was it ACE? Do you run any mods? Also how long ago did you fly it and also did you only fly it the once or did the same thing happen twice. Finally if you had a track or Tacview of the flight that would be really helpful. Sorry about all the questions but if I am aware of any issues in my campaigns, normally caused by DCS updates, I will get them fixed. Thanks for your help. Badger633 EDIT 2 July 25: Check flew mission on ACE no issues all worked as scripted. Have added additional safety provision in case AI choses not fly as expected. Will be in next update.

HI @KodiakVFA143 Thanks for the track, if you can see the laser on the Track via a monitor it is probably a Quest 3 display issue. If this is the case you should report it on the main Forum for bugs so ED is aware and can look into it and hopefully fix it. It is not something that I can fix via campaign scripting. @KodiakVFA143 can you send using drop box or something similar. You can dm a link then so I can pick it up. So you cannot see it when you look at your track on the monitor?

@Pavletto the problem is although the TGB directs the Maverick sensor to the TGP target the Maverick has still then to create its own IR lock on the target. This a lot harder with a moving vehicle so you need to look carefully to ensure it has locked on the target and if not keep trying by uncage and cage etc. If you check your track you will see when you fired the Maverick was not locked on the moving truck. A bigger FOV will help a lot.
-
Hey @Pavletto Thanks for the Track, have had a look. When you released your AGM-65F you had a good TCG moving lock on the first truck. What you didn't do was ensure the Maverick display was also following, as it wasn't and went where the Maverick screen indicated on a fixed point. Suggest you firstly increase the field of view (FOV) of the maverick display so you can better see if you have a lock on your target and not some other feature. Then when you have a good moving TGP lock, which you did, select the maverick display and keep uncaging and caging until the Maverick display shows closed cross hairs actually on the moving vehicle. Then you are good to go. Hope this helps.

Hi @ATD123 You should be taking out, as directed, the two to the right, your wing will then deal with the two to the left. The wing had been scripted not to take out your two aircraft as otherwise all you would have to do is sit back and let him take care of all the aircraft, part of the challenge is for you to take out at least two of the aircraft. I attach a link to Flying Kennys fly through of the mission so you can see how it is done. You need to use your radar correctly to ensure you are targeting the correct aircraft with your long range missiles, fly aggressively so as not to be an easy target and when close up use your helmet mounted display with your AIM 9X missiles which will give you a big advantage. In the playlists on my youtube channel I have listed some great videos by others on the use of the F18 radar. Well worth a look and will help you no end. www.youtube.com/@badger633 On the basis of your comments I have revised the mission so after a few minutes if really struggling the wing will help but you will have to survive for those few minutes. This is the forth of my five campaigns which have been designed to get more challenging as you progress so cannot make it too easy. Revised mission will be in next update. Hope this helps, remember practice makes perfect
