HI @Polonsky 1 What bingo fuel, holding pattern for own squad and decision altitude setting? No bingo fuel is given. The case 1 landing patterns are given and the stack height of 2000 feet is given under the flight plan under RTB, all on the kneeboard, also the flight plan heights between way points. 2 I have a suite of Campaigns starting with the free "Serpents Head" then "Serpents head 2" then this Campaign, "Rise of the Persian Lion" then "Rise of the Persian Lion2" and the last currently "Operation Green Line". The difficulty increasing through the campaigns. In this campaign as set out in the brief, " A lot of the communications are trigger based. Pilots will have to operate the radio for Carrier approaches and aerial refuelling." So in this campaign you do not need to worry about your wing, assume he is switching with you. The next Campaign ROPL2 you will have to operate the radios fully. The RTB instructions gave you the frequency plus also the instruction "Primary Push 2" so all you needed to do is select channel two on the Primary radio i.e. Comm 1. When you approached the ABE you did not get the Charlie signal to land so not sure why. Did notice though you were using Comm 2 in some instances? Have a look at Flying Kennys fly through. Also noted you did not have the ICLS active on the HSI or the Tacan boxed. Regarding to the coords. The audio will read them out and they will stay on screen for a period but then you have the option to call them back. They then will remain on screen until you press the space bar. You could also call them back even then using the message history system. Hope this helps.

HI @Polonsky Thanks for the track. Just checked this out. This is not a bug but a campaign design decision. When your wing gets close enough he is removed from the SIM so as not to conflict with the your landing on the carrier. Noticed you had quite a few attempts at landing. Had the wing not been removed he would have conflicted with your attempts. Have done two campaigns after this one and now adopt a kiss off system in these and control the wing. Think in time I will update this campaign in line with them. Noticed you entered the wrong coords and tried to locate the harboured subs with the Sea mode radar which will not work. Also, you had quite a lot of positional and level issues. I have attached Flying Kennys fly through of the mission which will hopefully help you. Cheers

@speed-of-heat Ah OK thanks for the feed back. I didn’t place the kneeboard in any place specifically so assume it must be standard?

@speed-of-heat I know the one I will check the kneeboard there.

@speed-of-heat Which mission is this?
-
Hi @speed-of-heat Not sure what you mean. Could you explain. Do you mean a page has been added to the kneeboard? I have not added any pages.

Mission 3 - Received "Fail task advisory" seems out of nowhere
Badger633 replied to 5EVC Tiger's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi @5EVC Tiger Glad your enjoying the missions. Just looked at the scripting. Normally this failure will be prompted after a successful refuel by entering the second targets fail zone and then leaving without destroying the same. If you could send me a track file of your mission I will be able to see clearly what has happened and make sure there is not a new ED bug. Could you have entered the incorrect way point, anyway a track would tell all. Thanks -
at arms length JSOW hit wrong place

@DLEGION You are aware there is an AutoStart facility. 90% of pilots insist on a cold starts. You have the option. -
at arms length JSOW hit wrong place
Badger633 replied to DLEGION's topic in F/A-18C The Serpent's Head 2 Campaign
@DLEGION Firstly you will appreciate that this mission was made about four years ago and has been flown by thousands of pilots without a problem. So if it is not working correctly then it is either a new bug or something you are doing. Firstly not sure what you mean by heading not stored. If you mean to create the shorter alignment process then that is available in this mission if you press the correct button on the HSI at the correct time. If this is not it please clarify. The first targets were given you via way points unlike the last which you have to enter the coordinates yourself. So make sure you are using the correct precise coordinate format. This video of this actual mission shows you how. Make sure you do exactly the same. Also below is a complete fly through of the mission by Flying Kenny. Hope this helps, if your still stuck send me your track so I can check things out. EDIT: Just saw your video on a bigger screen. Looks like you are not using the correct coordinate format. Follow the video I have sent you above. This is all explained in the brief. Extract below. "When entering 'Precision Coordinates' ensure they have been selected on the HSI / Data page. Button along bottom row. You will also need to select the correct entry format. This will be Degrees / Minutes / Seconds / Decimal Seconds. 00/00/00.00 The format can be selected on the HSI / Data /A/C page LATLN button which is bottom right." -
@BunnyKeeper As briefed he will remain in formation, he will not refuel. He also will not run out of fuel. That is the problem, when commanding him to refuel thats when intermittently he goes AWOL. Cheers
-
Hi @BunnyKeeper Glad your enjoying the campaign. There isn't an issue with the mission, Due to an intermittent bug I had to change the refuel so that you refuelled on the right and your wing will just follow you. This is because for some pilots when given the refuel command the wing would dive away and break the mission. Until I am sure this is fixed this is the best option. Once you have refuelled on the left side all you need to do is keep move away from the tanker and the mission will continue. This is explained at the beginning of the in the game brief in capitals "DUE TO CURRENT REFUEL BUG YOUR WING WILL NOT PLUG BUT STAY IN FORMATION. YOU NOW MUST PLUG ON LEFT BASKET UNTIL BUG FIXED." and in the radio text which you received when close to the tanker. "TWO, LEAD YOU TAKE PORT SIDE FOR PLUG AS USUAL. NOTE: DUE TO RECENT DCS REFUEL BUG YOU MUST REFUEL PORT SIDE AND YOUR WING WILL REMAIN IN FORMATION. MOVE AWAY FROM TANKER WHEN COMPLETE." Hope this helps Cheers Badger

mission 9 part 2 sa10
Badger633 replied to ayousry's topic in F/A-18C Rise of the Persian Lion II Campaign
Hey @Hillman Glad you got it sorted and thanks for the feedback back as you’re not the first to raise this. But you are right, if in the computer release circle it should work. I have always given it a bit of welly going over that ridge so never had the issue. -
My Feedback on this Campaign
Badger633 replied to Taxman's topic in F/A-18C Rise of the Persian Lion Campaign
Think you mean mission 13. This is how it is done. Hope this helps. All my other campaigns have AWACS support where relevant. Not been requested on this one over the last few years, but if you think it would help, we will where relevant provide more SA support in these campaign missions, hopefully in next update or if not in the one after definitely -
mission 9 part 2 sa10
Badger633 replied to ayousry's topic in F/A-18C Rise of the Persian Lion II Campaign
Hey @Hillman Glad your enjoying them. If you could send me a Tacview or a Track I could see what you are doing. and hopefully help. -
Thanks @omnijinx will take a look. Looking at mission plan, message comes at 19.7 miles to SAM, the red line kill range is 13.4 miles. The idea is if you both do a 180 as soon as you get the warning you will have both cleared the 13.4 mile kill range. That's how I have always flown the mission. Notice you kept flying to the SAM until your wing was hit. Hope this helps.
-
Just checked, no, the audio definitely comes 6 NM before the indicated launch zone and that's in plan. The actual launch will be even later due to the spherical zone and higher altitude of your aircraft.
-
HI @omnijinx You will appreciate this Campaign was created about 4 years ago and since then many many thousands of pilots have flown it without this issue. It is the first time we have come across it. Having checked it, the problem is to do with a zone recognising the presence of the AGM 88C, it appears over the years the speed at which the Sim recognises missiles in zone appears to have adjusted, so, have had to adjust the zone to suit. We used zone missile detection rather than units death to account for missile inaccuracies which occur from time to time in updates. Have now also included unit death as check now. The reason your wing was hit is because you flew too close to the SA6 site before turning so they fired on you. Your wing followed you in and was the unlucky one that got hit rather than you. This had no impact on the fail as the wing was immune. Always have to make AI immune as they can not be trusted to remain alive. So mission has been updated with the fix and has been issued to ED and hopefully will be in next update. Thanks for the heads up

My Feedback on this Campaign
Badger633 replied to Taxman's topic in F/A-18C Rise of the Persian Lion Campaign
Hey @omnijinx The missiles in mission 8 are definitely Aim-9Ps. You are correct with the missiles in Mission 6 from the F4s , which I noticed you beat, thanks for the Tacview. So Mission 8 should be a much easier task. You can actually change the load outs if you want but they were selected to make the air fight a reasonable challenge. They also promote more close up dog fights which can be more interesting. Generally my Campaigns are thought of as much easier than many of the campaigns. As a designer it is a difficult balance to strike as some will find it hard and others easier dependant on how experienced the pilot is. The missions are normally about 1 hour long which is much shorter than a lot of the other campaigns, which can be twice that. -
My Feedback on this Campaign
Badger633 replied to Taxman's topic in F/A-18C Rise of the Persian Lion Campaign
@omnijinx You do not just have Aim9X if you check you also have one 120C. Although there are 4 F5’s your wing will deal with two of them. You will note from the radio calls you are to engage the two on the right so make sure you do that and leave the two on the left to your wing. If you use your radar correctly you can locate and take out one with the 120C. You can then engage the remaining F5 with your Aim9X missiles which when used with your head mounted display will allow you to fire at almost 90 degrees. This together with the better F18 performance will give you a massive advantage over the F4. It should also be noted that the F5s are armed with Aim9ps so rear aspect only compared to your 9Xs which are all aspect. -
M07: Something wrong?
Badger633 replied to johnhermes's topic in F/A-18C Operation Green Line Campaign
Hi @johnhermes Sorry about that, it appears to be a new vehicle routing bug. Have resolved see response below. -
Hey @KENNY1988 Yes, was made aware of it yesterday. Looks like a new DCS vehicle tracking bug. Have reported it and fixed it my end also. Will be in next update. Thanks for letting me know. Hope it hasn’t impacted any other missions.
