Communication problem in mission 9 - part 1
Badger633 replied to LordOrion's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hey @LordOrion Glad you got it sorted. Yes there will be a message on all my mission campaigns in next update not to touch the DCT settings. -
Glad you got it sorted. Enjoy the campaign

@DN308 Let me know how you get on. If a problem save and send me the track. I have made an update to the mission which will ensure the wing will not RTB even if you take a while to tank. Hopefully in next update but may miss it if next update is very close.

Hi @DN308 The original campaign had wing refuelling. If you look in the mission brief at the start and also the text that comes up on the screen as you approach the tanker it lets you know that due to a DCS bug I have had to change the mission so that your wing will only follow you. You refuel on the port side and the wing will remain in formation. When you move away the mission will resume by the wing calling complete. I have had to do this because of an intermittent bug. Annoyingly for some players, not all, when the wing was scripted to refuel it would dive away and go AWOL, this effectively breaking the mission. Had so many complaints had to make this change for all my campaigns. Not sure if this bug is fixed as did not get response from ED. I will do some tests and when fully confident will reinstate the wing refuel to my campaigns. There is a lot of missions to adjust and the bug is difficult to check as always works for me but not all pilots. At least this way the missions are not breaking. Hope this helps.

Communication problem in mission 9 - part 1
Badger633 replied to LordOrion's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi @LordOrion Just flew the mission. Unfortunately could not reproduce your issue. Both messages and triggers worked fine. So not sure what is happening your end? Of course I run with no mods. What I did notice that if the first leg is flown at 300 knots, the wings 'joining port' audio steps on the 'clear of the ABE' audio. So just got the 'clear of the ABE' text on screen. Changed to Pri 2 and all worked as expected. So will put that on my list to sort out the timings. As I said apart from that all worked my end? -
Mission 13 Dialogue overlapped
Badger633 replied to cm2's topic in F/A-18C Rise of the Persian Lion Campaign
Hi @cm2 Have now looked and fixed it. Have already issued update to ED and will be in next update. Thanks for the heads up. It was one of those things that will not happen most of the time but in some circumstances can happen. -
Mission 13 Dialogue overlapped
Badger633 replied to cm2's topic in F/A-18C Rise of the Persian Lion Campaign
Hi @cm2 I’m sure it is, will take a look. Thanks -
@LordOrion Have checked out mission. Now corrected default laser code for wing and now only attacks its target. The fact you passed over without dropping a bomb was not a scenario i had anticipated. Only catered for miss or hit. So now scripted for that scenario. Engine failure working fine this end not sure how it could be that delayed. Have now made small adjustment. Updates will be in next DCS update. Thanks

@Hillman No problem, any time. Glad you got it sorted. Enjoy the campaign.

@LordOrion OK will check out this end. If you have Tacview those files are very useful too . If you haven't got it suggest you do, a great learning tool analysing your flights and free. Checked segments of the mission and laser spot and fail seems to be working. The wing might have hit your target, the new detailed fusing which came in after this campaign may be to blame. The wings laser code set at fusing by default is 1688 which just happens to be the same code as the JTAC lazing your target. Have changed this and will carry out full fly through.
-
Hi @Hillman Have you got a track or Tacview of the mission flown you could send me so I could check out what is happening? Thanks. EDIT: Will look at the mission but just asking the obvious question, are you sure you are hitting the northerly 4 Migs parked, your target, and not the the wings 4 parked Migs to their south? As above Tacview or track would be great please.
-
Hi @LordOrion Strange, obviously has worked until now. Will take a look. Have you got the track of your mission as that would be really useful. Also which version of the mission was it and are you running any mods? Regarding the laser you normally will not get a lock until quite close and of course the pod needs to be set up to look in area. I will fly the mission to check things out. Really strange why the engine failure was delayed. Unless ED has changed how it operates.

Hi @JesterIsDead Just tested mission 3 normal and harder. All worked well and the F4s turned away. Have you tried more than once? Was it the harder or normal version. If it happens again can you send me your track. Thanks.
-
Hi @JesterIsDead They are supposed to turn back, I think there has been a recent DCS bug where AI aircraft are engaging when they shouldn’t. Will check it out and get back to you.

F/A-18C OPERATION GREEN LINE NOW AVAILABLE
Badger633 replied to Badger633's topic in F/A-18C Operation Green Line Campaign
Hi @gunhead9 Glad you enjoyed the campaign. Will bear your comments in mind. It's not true though that we all have top end powerful computers, especially when using high res VR. Fully loaded missions can be the difference between a smooth and slightly juddery experience for some. I generally have DCS traffic switched off as it looks stupid having the DCS traffic driving through the actual Road Convoys to be targeted or monitored in the missions. Generally I don't put too much activity in target destinations, although have done in the past campaigns, as sometimes that detail is very often lost through the TPod. The Missions from Incirilik all have other aircraft moving jeeps and personnel, have made sure all start locations are busy, although adding a few dormant aircraft in hangers is a good point and will introduce them. In a lot of the missions the wing does help out but is scripted not allow the player to just sit back and he kill all the bad guys for you. In the case of the last mission you would expect it to be less forgiving and beings the targets are buddy lazed for you you are expected to hit both targets. The fact you get a mission fail at that point is always an interesting dichotomy. Would you rather get a Mission fail at that point or would you rather run the full length of the mission land at the carrier and only then get a mission fail? Matrix should never get shot down as he is scripted to be immortal. He may well have gone AWOL as there have been some recent DCS bugs such as the recent, 'stuck in orbit' which is now fixed. If you have the details and track, or Tacview, of the mission could you please send it to me so I can check it out, as that should never happen. Thanks for your thoughts, and as I have said above, will bear them in mind for the next one. I always work hard to try to make them as good as they can be. -
Hi @cm2 This is a very strange bug. I am not sure if it has been fixed, certainly had no feed back from ED after a couple of requests. The problem is all works well if early in a mission but not later in the mission, same script? Also works for some, I think with better computers, but not all! same script? So not just a case of getting it working my end. When I last looked at it sometimes on the refuel command the wing would dive down and go AWOL, totally breaking the missions. As refuel is through lots of missions in most of my campaigns this became a real problem. Tried various options but none were 100%. Then decided to adjust all my missions as they are with the wing just following. There has been lots of AI changes since. I will do some tests again and see how things pan out and maybe release on a couple of missions. Not going to revise all the missions in all the campaigns though until I am 100% sure that there is still not this intermittent issue for obvious reasons. From the above you can see this is a process and won't be resolved by next update, wish it was.

question about radio management

question about radio management
Badger633 replied to Feukair's topic in F/A-18C Rise of the Persian Lion II Campaign
Hi @Feukair Pri refers to Primary or Radio 1. Aux refers to auxiliary or Radio 2. So push Pri3 would mean channel 3 on the primary or radio 1. Push Aux 1 would mean channel 1 on the Auxiliary or radio 2. For refuel and traps on the ABE you use the DCS radio menu. Ensure you use the correct button to call up the menu as there is one for Radio 1 And another for Radio 2, all explained in the briefs. Hope this helps -
Hey @sterny70 Just got back and checked out mission 2. All working Matrix follows as scripted. Apparently there was a DCS bug which stopped AI aircraft already in an orbit breaking and following as scripted. This fixed in last DCS update so you should have no problems now.
-
Thanks @sterny70 Will take a look when I get back. There has been a lot of recent DCS changes to the ‘follow’ script which might be to blame. So mission 1 was ok?
-
Hi @sterny70 unfortunately am away from my rig for two weeks so cannot check things out. Will check as soon as I get back. Sounds like a new DCS bug as obviously worked until now. Where does he go? He will normally get airborne before you and should hold in an orbit until you are airborne. Thanks.
-
Hi @ravenclaw1234 Let me know how you get on. I am away from my rig for a couple of weeks, but if your still have an issue send me the track of your flight. so I can see what is happening and I can check we do not have a new bug. You don’t have to bind the correct keyboard button to the Hotas to work. If I remember, when you return to the ABE you will need to select radio 1 (pri) when you are told to in the dialogue . You will know this has been done correctly as your character will say he has changed to the ABE. You also then need to bring up the radio menu using the correct control for radio 1 as in your settings.
-
Hi @ravenclaw1234 There are three different bindings to call up the radio menu. One for on the ground, a second for in the air using Radio 1 and a third for in the air using radio 2. You can get these bindings under the controls menu under HOTAS. Look for COMM 1 and COMM2 bindings to bring up radio menu. If you do not use the correct one you will still get the menu up but will not get a response. Have noted this in the brief. Is this your issue?
