I'm gutted that its actual happened, he was such a great guy and good friend, he worked with me on the campaigns. We exchanged mails weekly during his illness its hard to accept the inevitable has come to pass. " Upwards and Onwards Don", a great friend.

Has anyone heard from Don recently. I have been very close to him on emails since he has not been well, he helped voice my 'Rise of the Persian Lion 2' Campaign. I'm not getting any more responses from him and thinking the worse.

Persion Lion campaign - mission bugs
Badger633 replied to SHazmak's topic in F/A-18C Rise of the Persian Lion Campaign
@SHazmak Checking through this mission couldn't understand how you could complete it. Because of the issue of the ship not exploding you have missed a good part of the mission and I assume you did not get the success message etc when you landed back at the ABE? As the ship did not explode and you did not proceed there is a way you could have missed all the fail checks and that is why you made it back but only flying part of he mission. Hopefully all is fixed now so when the update is released would suggest you fly the mission again as you missed quite a bit out. Did you refuel as I think that part would have been missed also? -
Mission 1 issues
Badger633 replied to SHazmak's topic in F/A-18C Rise of the Persian Lion II Campaign
@SHazmak thanks for the clarification, I had already looked further into it and the fact your wing was stuck is the cause as you thought. I have updated that aspect so in that same situation, even though it will not happen now, you would still get a success. Just so you know there might be an issue in mission 3 the big brother mission. I have fixed it and will be in next DCS update. Thanks for your help. We do depend on fellow pilots like yourself picking things up as it is impossible to fly all missions from all the campaigns each update as you can imagine, we would never produce any new content. -

That’s fine, if that was to happen again it would work as intended now. Thanks. -
Persion Lion campaign - mission bugs

Yeah, @SHazmak it did go wrong. He is supposed to take it out. Did you play it more than once to see if it happened twice? Not sure what the recent DCS updates have done but they have definitely impacted the AI. They cant be trusted to be on target any more. Will check it out. Thanks for the heads up. EDIT: Checked it out, on his own as an extract he hit the ship. However have updated mission so even if he misses and is in the right location the ship will explode. How far was his bombs out? Update will be in the next DCS update -
Hey @Sparviero1978 I believe it is current DCS bug, I heard it from a number of sources, yes put it on the forum bugs hopefully they will sort it. Nothing I can do it has to be DCS as they are the only ones that can fix full Sim bugs.

Mission 1 issues
Badger633 replied to SHazmak's topic in F/A-18C Rise of the Persian Lion II Campaign
Hi, thanks for that . Looks like the movement of vehicles has changed in the latest set of DCS updates. I will get it fixed. You are probably correct with the boat. let me have a look and I will get back to you. EDIT: Yes you were correct about the ship name. Thought I had fixed this one but not completely which I have done now. Regarding the vehicle Collison have fixed this by moving the vehicle track away from the aircraft track. Never had a problem over this in last couple of years but things change unfortunately. Am I right in thinking when you went back on the runway for take off you turned left and not turn right to back track up the runway as instructed by ATC. If so this is probably why you got a fail at the end. You must always follow ATC's instructions like in real life. Aircraft normally back track to use the full runway in real life. As the saying goes "There is nothing more useless as runway behind you." The update will be issued in the next DCS update. Thanks for the heads up. -
Persion Lion campaign - mission bugs
Badger633 replied to SHazmak's topic in F/A-18C Rise of the Persian Lion Campaign
Glad you got to the bottom of it. Yeah you have to check the brief and kneepad notes on the tacan. As you go through my campaigns in order you will be much more hands on with the radios. Obviously the Tacan issue is a DCS sim issue and not a campaign issue. (We do not have that sort of control in the editor, it is either set or not). The ABE is present throughout so no despawn etc. Never come across it as I never set Tacan on launch as usually have to set it to a refuel or something else in the mission and am following way points initially anyway. It may be worth you raising it as a possible general bug in the forum. -

@SHazmak just so you know the update missed last issue but will be in the next one. -
Glad you got it sorted. I have heard of some sort of corruption that can sometimes occur with the DCS control of mission progress. Luckily not had it myself. Well done and thanks for sharing.

Persion Lion campaign - mission bugs
Badger633 replied to SHazmak's topic in F/A-18C Rise of the Persian Lion Campaign
No that is a mystery, try it again an see if it works, it all worked fine this end and the ABE is set up correctly for 72X. Make sure you didn't have AA mode selected by mistake. It's certainly not a campaign mission thing as it is more a DCS thing as not controlled by editor once the ABE is set for correct Tacan which it is. Hope this helps. -

Hi @SHazmak Just checked this out, placed Ford where you were and could pick up Comms with the ABE ok and also had reducing distance on the Tacan. Remember the ABE is on 127.5 which has been set to channel two on your primary radio. Can you check out again as seems to works this end. All scripting is correct as well. -
Hi Just checked this out. Mission 5 loaded as it should. So your problem is not the campaign and mission 5 itself. Not sure what it could be. Might be worth looking the problem up on the forum. Sorry I can’t be any more help.

Mission 8 JTAC doesn't respond
Badger633 replied to JethroTundra's topic in F/A-18C The Serpent's Head 2 Campaign
I have checked it out there seems to be an issue which I am looking into. Frustrating as it has worked for years. Will let you know when fixed. I am getting comms with JTAC but Mavs are falling short. EDIT Think it is a DCS bug -
Mission 8 JTAC doesn't respond
Badger633 replied to JethroTundra's topic in F/A-18C The Serpent's Head 2 Campaign
@andytts You need to be within 20 miles because the radio station is obscured by the hills. You also need to be high enough I would suggest 20k for same reason. Should then work, see notes above. I will double check and fly it this end to ensure its' not a new bug. Also are you open beta or stable, normal mission or EZ refuel or increased difficulty. Most important are you running any mods. Thanks -
Mission 6 - A2A easy refueling
Badger633 replied to Spider64's topic in F/A-18C Rise of the Persian Lion Campaign
@Sparviero1978 just checked the scripting out. To make things a little harder on this one you need to get in position as you have done before at the right height and speed limits. This time 70 seconds have to pass from the time your wingman enters the small zone around Texaco. Was this case. So either you were way ahead of your wing refuelling so did not wait in the correct position for 70 seconds after he started refuelling or you just did not wait 70 seconds for the mission to move on. Do you think this could have been the issue. The other problem we had last time is not present with this mission. -
Hi They are moving quite slow which can be a problem for radar in DCS. You should be able to, and have always been able to, lock on them with your AIM9X. If this is no longer the case it is not a Campaign scripting issue but a DCS bug and you should report to ED on the forum so they can fix it. I will try it out myself and let you know how i get on.

Mission 3 Possible Bug?
Badger633 replied to thumperdump's topic in F/A-18C Rise of the Persian Lion II Campaign
Hi Firstly are you running any mods? secondly are you you using stable or open beta. You should just head to Dodge who should kill all the boghammers, then the mission proceeds so definitely not normal. Does this happen every time? I will take a look myself as could be new DCS bug. Thanks EDIT: Checked this out, it appears the DCS AI is no longer very good at taking boghammers out with a gun. They are not shooting on some passes. Will fix this by giving them AGM65F's, that works much better. Will update mission for next DCS update. Thanks for the heads up.
