  1. Should be saved games/dcs/tracks At the end of the flight in the debrief screen, at the bottom click Save Track and you can save it anywhere you want.
  2. Same behavior described above. It's easily reproducible. Track attached with AIM-7. It seems the radar actually loses lock for a very small amount of time, because this behavior makes the AIM-7 miss most of the time. Also seems to happen more when target is maneuvering. aim-7-rdr.trk
  3. A lot of guys seem to like the Thrustmaster T1600 HOTAS. Seems to be a good middle of the road option.
  4. I took apart my throttle and filed down the piece of plastic responsible for the detent at 50%. That made more difference than any amount of curves. For the stick, mine is tightened down about half way with a little curve and deadzone. My curvature on X and Y are around 25, and deadzone is 4. It's personal preference I think. Small corrections are hard with this setup. Part of it is because the base isn't very stable, especially if you have the throttle and stick detached from each other or your cables aren't tucked in their channels properly. Could also be your mounting surface, like if it's on a rolling keyboard tray that moves ever so slightly. I'm going to eventually get a better HOTAS setup as well. This setup is more for the casual gamer than hardcore folks.
  5. Have you re-checked your calibration? Check that out, and make sure your axis mappings are correct. I have had to redo mine after updates, or they have randomly gotten messed up (can not replicate). Easy to check, just don't assume it's fine.
  6. If you consider the question from the perspective of what is most needed to give the Early Access Hornet pilot the most flexibility in dealing with threats: HARM is the singular most important piece. ED have done an excellent job giving us a highly capable AA and AG platform in EA. If we can defeat SAM/AAA threats we can use dumb bombs until we get ATFLIR and Guided Bombs. A lot of us are getting very proficient at defeating short range, low to medium-altitude SAMs and AAA but the long range, high-altitude ones remain a challenge :-). From a mission builder perspective, lack of HARM is also the biggest issue (IMO) we have to consider in building Hornet-only missions, especially in PG where there aren't very many mountains or valleys to hide yourself.
  7. Nice guys. Thanks for taking the time to create this. It was very stable and pretty lag free for the time I was tonight. A couple of questions: The hornet slot for Stennis spawned me at Al Dhafra. I was connected on SRS. Not sure if I did something wrong? Will there eventually be kneeboard pages for tanker TCN's, or active mission taskings? Thanks again, I enjoyed it and looking forward to see where it goes. Nice to have these kind of options in PG!
  8. I was able to taxi around the deck in hurricane force winds with relative ease. It was a little jerky trying to line up on the cat but nothing too hard to manage. Thanks for fixing!
  9. Deck handling is dramatically improved. Like others have said I only notice sliding when the carrier is steaming above 20kts. I'm working on a mission right now with carrier at 15kts, and 15kts into the wind =30kts over deck and I can taxi with no sliding. Change carrier to 25kts and wind to 5kts, sliding begins.
  10. Are you requesting takeoff clearance, or accidently hitting the key bound for it? If you request takeoff the deflector raises. Abort takeoff to lower it. Even if you are not hooked up on the cat.
  11. You just overwrote the new files with the backup? I tried that, and tried loading via the in-game context. Did not work, so I remapped everything.
  12. The module is amazing. Truly great work to have it this polished for an early access release. It's already better than many flight sims were in their initial general release. You guys are doing a great job fixing things quickly. Excited to see the future releases!
  13. Generally between 88-93 RPM is what I've found, depending on weight. Don't focus on a specific RPM, as it really only applies up until you turn out of the downwind to final. You'll need to add a little in your turn, and you'll need to bring it back a little when you roll out on final. Then you'll be working the throttle constantly to maintain glideslope.
  14. I find 27 degrees is working better for me, it's rarely going to be a constant 30 degree turn as speed/weight/wind will always play a factor in it. Practice, practice, practice. I suck at landing (just watch the Stinger's vid on YouTube) but am slowly getting better. When you're about halfway through your base turn onto final, you should be eyeballing your position, and make any corrections to bank angle needed. You should do this again right before you cross the ship wake and roll out. The only way you can eyeball it is to practice and get better at it. Eventually you'll make a couple good passes and it'll start to stick. Record your landings (or I guess save the track files) so when you do have a good one, you can replay it and see what you did right. Your better landings will have you on speed and trimmed out on downwind before your turn to final.
  15. It's just practice man, I had a lot of difficulty with it at first. I actually ran out of fuel once (from 4.0) because I just couldn't get it. With lots of practice and encouragement from squad mates I am getting better at it. You really do need to be able to fly good formation. You will notice a direct correlation in your ability to fly tight formations, and ease in tanking.
  16. If you continue reading through the checklist procedure, if FCS Reset and BIT Consent do not successfully reset the system, you can pull all 4 FCS Chan breakers to continue resetting the system. I have successfully done this, although one time it did not work. I chalked that up to needing maintenance to look at the plane and just jumped into a different one. Ultimately I believe the root cause of the issue is due to me missing a step in shut down or start up. When I follow procedure to the letter I have never had an issue.
  17. Setting anisotropic filtering to 16 helped me spot the ball easier. Maybe it'll help you too.
  18. Yes. On the fuel selector panel, move the EXT WING or CTR switch to STOP and it will stop fuel flow from that tank. You can verify by using QTY button on the IEFI. You can also use these switches to transfer fuel from external tanks to internal tanks. Believe it's the top position "ORIDE".
  19. T/o trim sets to 12, then you set to 16+ for cv ops, based on weight. The values are in the natops manual. 12 on a heavy bird results in some pucker factor.
  20. Aircraft slide in parking on rearm/refuel While in parking area on Stennis, perform a rearm and refuel and your plane will slide around on the deck, as though it's being pushed by the wind. This happens even with parking brake set, engines off, and wheel chocks in place.
  21. I am trying to add the Dynamic Mission Briefing and Dynamic Persian Gulf Beacons to an F/A-18C custom kneeboard, but the pages are showing up blank/transparent in the mission with just the border visible. Any idea how to fix this? I am new to KBB and this is a new install on 2.5 OpenBeta.
  22. If you fly low, it does look like street lights. But up high it looks bad. I think all terrain lighting in general is too dark at night.
  23. Here's what I use on my OC'd Radeon 7950. Your 1060 should handle this fine. Are you OC'd at all? You should be able to get a least a little overclock. textures: high terrain textures: high civ traffic: off water: high visb range: medium heatblur: low shadows: low resolution: 1920x1080 1 monitor res of cockpit display: 1024 MSAA: 2x depth of field: simple lens effects: off motion blur: on SSAA: off ansiotropic filtering: 8x terrain object shadows: flat cockpit global illumination: off rain droplets: on clutter/grass: 30% of slider Trees visibility: 30% Preload radius: 30% of slider chimney smoke density: 5 gamma: 2.5 vsync: on
  24. Yes.
  25. Seems like a lot of luck goes into landing in bad wx.. Luck that you time the deck pitch just right... Luck with the wind...
