Is AB allowed in the F14B during the take off roll ? i thought it was prohibited in case of an engine failure?

Hi guys, i'm trying to train landing the beast but as i fly other module as well like the JF17, M2000C, F16 and i don't want to re learn the landing for each other moduleS, I always do my overhead at 1500ft RA and 350kt even if its not the normal SOP for the F14. With the F14 i do 350 until the brake then: Idle the throttle + 3 tap on the speedbrake brake left and trying to maintain altitude At 250kt => Gear Down At 225 => Flaps Down Trim for 170-180kt At base turn: Idle throttle when on Speed AoA, trying to maintain speed until touch down JHowever i dont know when to use to the DLC and I find it hard to slow down the F14 and even maintaining on speed AoA has you need very little thrust Should you put fully extended Aero Brake before the brake until touchdown ? PS: What is the flight path vector ? because before the brake, i was in level flight but the FPV was showing 5° ??? is the FPV accurate once the gear are down ?

Oh I need to check, its the button close to the AIM9 Un cage button on the throttle from the chuck guide. I thought it was the the ACM mode for locking up to 20Nm with a horizontal scan

Hello, Before taking off, i asked jester to put radar in TWS auto and when i pressed the PAL button, nothing happens, it seems to back in TWS 0.5s after pressing the PAL button, Any idea ? thanks

But you were at 100% N2 not 90% N2. I used 90%N2 with the same loadout and 14000LBS fuel lol

In chuck's guide, it is mentionned to put the Engines at 90% N2 for take off, thats what I did as you are only allowed to engage AB after the wheels are off the ground

Hello. With the F14A, when I set the TO thrust to 90% N2, the plane take ages to reach 150kt and almost all the runway, is this normal ? 4xAIM54C-47 2xAIM7P 2xAIM9M 2 ET

Hello, Haven't flown the F14 yet but sutdying it via the chuck guide. I'll mostly fly the F14 in the GS and the futur tempest server. I have 2 questions: If i launch a AIM54C-47 in TWS Auto, will it be guided by the F14 inboard radar if i can maintain lock until impact and go pitbull if i lose lock ? If I launch a AIM54C-47 in a STT lock via PAL ( STT lock up to 20Nm), will it be launched in pitbull direclty of the rails ?

Hello, Im starting to learn the F14 and i was wondering which AIM-54 variant should I use for low to mid altitude and short to medium range engagement (< 20Nm) ? I mostly fly on the GS server where most of the fighting are WVR in the valleys but i'm quite lost between the Mk47 vs MK60 and the A versus C thanks

Never heard of that server but i started DCS like 2 months ago. Yeah hopefully it will be populated 24/24 like the enigma and the GS server

As you may now, the tempest server (little brother of the Enigma server) will mainly feature the M2000 and the Mig29 on a more modern cold war server compared to enigma where HMCS will be not allowed, no datalink and no Fox3, so finally a server where it would be fair to fly the mirage unlike server like GS where flying the mirage can be quite frustrating. Will you guys be playing on this server ?

Hello guys I'm wondering how does the D2M work and how can it improuve your SA AFAIK, the D2M with its IR sensor can detect missiles that are still burning its fuel but how can it not detect fighters with A/B on, how can it differenciate ? What is the max range of detection ? Can the D2M tell you if the missile is going toward you ? It seem that the D2M makes thing works for me regarding SA, as most of time the D2M warning display a missile that is not intented for me, it's even sometimes detect my own S530D as a threat lol.
