But it revives the debate: ED knows what these mods are containing and that many users (customers like me) are using the items contained in these mods. I've often asked an asset pack with this kind of objects and civilians objects and characters too. I'm pretty ready to pay for that and in this way we could have he same evolution for these items with the improvement of DCS. See: ED claims to be a combat simulation but don't hesitate to sell a plane like the Christen Eagle having nothing to do with military stuffs. Why are they so opposite to create a civilian asset pack ? -

I never said that ED don't work. They try to improve their product and it's quite normal. But in other hand, they must be aware that if some users have made mods, it's to overcome a lack of items that they havn't include. Some users do not need these missing objects but some other like me are wanting more realism in the landscape, on the airbases and airfields and seeing many objects having their full place to improve the visual realism and improve the pleasure we have by using DCS World. And suddenly, we must return to a basical landscape, including just the items ED has made. I'm sure that they know that some people having made these mods aren't on the forum anymore and that they know that these mods are used by many of us. A try to a backward compatibility would be welcome. If we are many people to express our dissatisfaction about that, they may try to see what they can do. -

Thanks for your reply Eduardo but my missions and templates for myself represents plenty of hours of work. I'm not ready to forget them. I'm not a dev but perhaps ED could introduce a compatibility or giving us a tool to update the EDM ourselves. The problem is that lot of mods has been made by users that havn't given news on this forum since months or years. In exemple, the mod of this thread. As you say, some of them will update for the 2.5.5 ( I've read that the great Mustang works already on the lua) but I think we'd lost plenty of them. And the VPC-Airfield Equipment, made by Virpil, a controller seller, that I use intensively in the mission i'm making, I don't think that they will lost time to update their excellent mod but many items in this mod aren't working anymore with the 2.5.5. And the excellent mods of Uputaut with cargos and tents that I use intensively too, perhaps these one will be updated but it's not sure. And the boats like Mistrals or Bainbridge, Spruance, Durance and many others, I think that some of them will surely be updated but not all. When I read the forum, I can see that we are lot of users in this case and unhappy of this new situation. The question is how many unhappy users is needed to be listened by ED ? -

On the topic I've opened about that, Nineline has been very clear: "We cant support mods, it's up to the mod creator to get them working with new versions. Sorry." Then he closed the thread. It doesnt' matter, as I play DCS more often in off line mode, if the moders do not update ( many of them havn't given sign of life since years ) I will copy the actual version of the release on my HD and play with it, keeping the updated version ( when they will switch the release in 2.5.5) only for the online mode that I use one hour and half by week in a aerobatic team of L-39. But that means too that I can't buy future modules anymore since they will not run in 2.5.4. -

Hi Perhaps it's not your concern ED but some great non-official mods do not work anymore since the big beta version update from today Some boats like Mistrals or US carrier or US military boats, some cargos from the old but excellent Uputaut's mod, some objects from the excellent VP ground crew and many others. I've done many missions with all these items with many hours of work and I hope that they will be usefull soon.

I confirm: Switching in sat view doesn't fix the issue. Does ED intend to fix the issue ?

Hi Wanting to edit some waypoints of some AI flights near the fences of the map on an old mission, I've just noticed that I can't unzoom this map enough or strafing it towards the right side to see these waypoints I've placed when I'd done the mission. The rear zoom stops to the 50 Kms scale In first, thinking that it was perhaps a VR issue, I've tried in no VR mode and it's the same. I've verified on other maps, and no issue, the rear zoom goes to the 100 Kms scale, it's just with the NTTR map.

No I'm not a dev but without being a dev, I had come to create for me, a moving car by taking a static model of an user's file, and editing a lua. If I could find where the models of static cars of NTTR are hidden in DCS files and their names, it's long time ago that I would do the same for them. Just to say that's is surely easy when you know exacly what's their name and where are the files. For the AI behaviour, I don't know if it's difficult or not. All that I know it's the fact than before, the AI planes had a good behaviour. It's surely not difficult to restore that, since ED knows how doing. It would be different if the AI planes never had a good behaviour. But since some years ago, they had, why not now ? Especcially since this behaviour is totally unrealistic. Have you ever seen in the real life, a plane aborting an approach just because an other plane on the parking gets the clearance to taxying ? Bignewy, I never said that ED must realise all the wishes seen here. Especially that few of them made me laugh because not very serious . This thread isn't " I can' get my own why thread" but " I have the feeling that people aren't listened here in this section" instead. Not only for my wishes but wishes of many people. I absolutly do not question the quality of DCS-World, I use it every day and take many pleasure with it, but some details like the AI behavoiur or the monotonous colors of the moving cars in LV, are lowering a little bit the global high level quality of this simulation. And I think that these little things could be easily fixed. -

Grimes I'm agree with you that you can't satisfying all asks. But as I previously said, some of them can be easily implemented because you have already the model. As I said in exemple, a long time ago, the AI planes had a good behaviour and didn't interrupt final approach when an other AI had a taxi clearance. So you have already the code lines to restore that easily but nothing comes. I remember too, that some years ago, I asked police cars to make police missions with helicopters in Las Vegas. And one day, I saw somewhere near an NTTR airfield, a static police car. So you had the model. It wasn't a big work to just animate it and validating it in the ME, but no, nothing happened. And the cars in LV streets: All grey or blue. But you have the models in statics as the parking all around are full of various cars. It's just a little game for ED to animate them and validate them in the ME. Sometimes I've often asked an asset pack with civilian peoples and said that I was ready to pay for that. But you surely made a market research and find that it wasn't gainful for ED because we aren't many customers enough to ask that. In this case I can understand why you havn't made, because you havn't models ready and you would have to work to create them, but I don't understand why you're not making when you have already the models and the code lines. -

Can you tell me the percent of wishes debated here, have been done by ED ( except some functions of existing modules or some modules, surely planned by ED before being asked here ) ? -
Hi Since I use DCS, I have the real feeling that ED never comes to read this section of the forum. When we have an issue in the bug section, the answer and help from ED comes very quickly, but here, in the wishlist: never any answer from ED. Perhaps, sometimes wer'e asking something impossible to do for any reasons, technicals, no commercial interest or stuffs reported by the 1.16 rule but when we ask some things that existed in old ..old... versions, like a good behaviour of AI ( systematic interrupted approach if a plane moves on the taxiway, totally unrealistic) or when I asked police cars when the NTTR map was realeased, I have the feeling to not being listened. For the police cars, it's done by an user ( Joe Rowe) but for the AI, I know it's possible because it was the case before, so that surely doesn't need a big work from ED to restore an already existing thing. These are just exemples but that shows that ED surely never comes in this section of the forum and if this section exists, it's just for us a rantroom for the customers we are.

Sunstag This forced me to change and re-edit ALL my missions but I've found a solution: I'd noticed that the VPC-NATO men were the only affected by this issue, and not the VP-MEN, I've modified the VPC NATO MAN.lua from the "VPC Airfiedl equipement" mode and transformed all "VPC NATO Men" as "Structures" as "VP_MEN" were already set and that works fine. The only issue I have is that I used some VPC_NATO_MEN as vehicles with some advanced tasks ( set frequency and transmitt a message) and a bug of the ME is doing that I can't delete them even if I delete their advanced tasks before. It doesn't matter, they're on the ground now. Thanks !

Hi Sunstag Do you have a fix for elevation as you've done for NatoGf because if I put this mod in "Techs", all my missions I've done since months, including other characters, I can see them floating in the air ? ( static men from the VPC airfield equipment mod). It was the same before with your "NatoGF" mod but after applying the fix you made for elevation, all became quite normal. So I wish the same fix for this excellent mod ! Thanks to you !

Sorry I remember now. I havn't edit myself before but I'd found a file called "plane spawn everywhere" to install with JSGME and doing what I've just done now. And I remember having some issues with it some weeks ago. Surely that ED has modified the me_route recently and that after, this file was causing issues. That's why I had the possibility to place Yak-52 on the ground.

No I havn't modify any file about that. I've made missions with the Yak-52 starting from unofficial airfields like this one near Kutaisi ( Kvitiri is the name on goggle earth ) or this other one near Kobuleti, on the way towards Batumi. I wanted to give you an example of missions found in the user's files section with Yak-52 starting from grass ( a mission called Propland ) but strangely this one has dissapeared from the list. I've searched and found in this forum how modify the me_route.lua and I can affirm that I'd never done it before and I had this option available for the Yak-52 and no for other planes. I've modify the file now and have the option for all planes ( knowing that the AI except helicopters or Harriers can't use it, and it's quite normal since the taxi lines to reach the runways are'nt definite for these unofficlal airfields ). I've made a JSGME option for this modified file, to not have to edit it again after each update. Thanks ! Thanks !
