@Bearitall: your posts are completely off topic , this thread is about FF5 and not ED's decisions regarding Black Shark or the possibility of another patch for Lomac. Get back on topic.

You have to run BS in windowed mode, fullscreen doesn't work with Vista.

What's so mysterious about that? It has been announced multiple times already that the international DVD versions require internet activation just like the download version, and do not employ disc checks at all. Only the Russian DVD relies on disc checks. See also: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=630435&postcount=54 -
BS, unlike Lomac, doesn't store ingame settings in the \config\graphics.cfg file anymore, \BlackShark\data\scripts\options.lua is the file you are looking for.

IFF is not implemented in Black Shark. Another option in SP (and also MP if it is enabled by the server) is to use the F10 map view. You may find that unrealistic but in reality pilots would often communicate with ground units about where friendlies and enemies are (just check some CAS videos), which is currently not possible in Black Shark (apart from using triggers), so you can use the map as a surrogate for comms. Personally I usually enable the "show my aircraft" and "show friendlies" option in the options menu and disable "show enemies". You can also order your AI wingman to attack a suspected target, if he refuses then it's likely a friendly.

Try the 8.11 or 8.11 Catalyst driver.

Did you install BS into the default "Program Files" directory? If so Vista's file virtualization feature has probably moved the missions out of their default folder. Please use Windows Explorer to open the Ka-50/Missions folder and check if the toolbar shows a "Compatibility Files" button. If yes click it and check if your missions are located in the folder you will be redirected to. Read more about this feature here: http://www.hanselman.com/blog/VistasShowCompatibilityFilesAndTheScrumptiousWonderThatIsFileVirtualization.aspx

Mate do you think that starting your very first post on these boards with "WTF" is very clever? And even in the wrong section? And regarding a topic that has already been covered countless times, which you could have found out if you used the search function or simply read the FAQ here. I also recommend you read the forum rules before posting! Every software company sells you a license to use their product, not the software itself, and if you don't accept the license conditions then don't buy that product. Again, the FAQ cover all necessary information about copy protection. See: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=568704&postcount=3 http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=593519&postcount=49 You won't need an activation if you just reinstall Black Shark. Only if you reinstall your operating system or do a major hardware upgrade then you need to deactivate Black Shark in order to save your current activation, or if you have no deactivations left then you have to use another activation. Your license includes 8 activation and 10 deactivations.

Here is a quote from Mark Bush (Frugal) about MicroProse and Falcon, he probably knows more about this than we do (I also used to think that MPS went bancrupt, as you can see in that thread): http://forums.frugalsworld.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=1579357&postcount=503 Those 800,000 copies refer to the original Falcon 4, not including Allied Force. And I think that you cannot really compare Falcon's long lasting success after its release (not in terms of business but as a flight sim) to that of other sims (maybe except EECH and BoBII), simply because Falcon's code was leaked, if this did not happen Falcon 4 would have been dead by now for a long time.

Well, please use the search function next time: ED already said multiple times that: a) aircraft AI has been heavily reworked, as described in the manual and various posts b) ground unit AI is under development and will be improved. See for example: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=595701#post595701 http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=559334#post559334 (posts 49 and 50) http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=594878&postcount=3

Some people reported problems with those newer Catalyst 9.1 and 9.2 drivers. Please try to disable Catalyst AI or set it to standard (in the Catalyst Control Center), and if that does not work revert to 8.12 or 8.11 driver versions and check if that cures the problem.
-
Works fine here, too.

I think this is a misunderstanding of the Wiki article, it says that there were rumours about a Russian anti-radiation a2a missile, but the K-100 is actually guided by inertia and active radar, so per definition it is not an ARM. Could you please stop talking in such a condescending tone?
-
What ATI driver version are you using? For some users the newer drivers (9.1 and 9.2) seem to cause problems with Black Shark. If you are using one of them please try to disable catalyst AI or set it to standard, and if that does not work please revert to 8.12 or 8.11 and check if that solves the problem.

I guess there are also lots of other large ships travelling the area, going into and out of Dublin port or passing the Irish Sea.

Whoever dumped that stuff, I just hope it does not reach the Irish coast. I have been to Arklow and Rosslare two years ago and both the beaches and the coastal region in general is beautiful (although maybe not as nice as the west coast, but still). That would be a pity. :( The photo shows the beach of Rosslare beside the harbour.
