Hm that's weird. Please check the following: -If you use Vista, start BS with administrator rights -On the Options->Gameplay page check the "Use these options for any mission" box

Before you buy I would contact the shop and make sure that you can return the connectors if this system doesn`t work at your place for any reason. -
On the Options/Gameplay page check "Use these options for any mission". On the Options/Controls page make sure that you selected the "Ka-50 Game" or "Ka-50 Real" profile when editing the input profile for the respective mode.

Happy Birthday EB, enjoy your day!!

The number on the HUD shows ground speed as measured by the doppler system, the Shkval indicated airspeed.

Yes, the deployment campaign does not have English voiceovers.

begging for help - performance in multi screen
Acedy replied to ruprecht's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Yeah, I suspect that, too. When I tried to run BS on Vista in window mode and with only two screens (and one virtual screen of course) there was a huge performance hit, but now I run it in fullscreen on XP and there is only a marginal FPS drop. If you have a copy of XP I would set up a dualboot environment and see if it works better then. -

Another option is to use your inhouse electrical wiring as a network. There are special adapters that you plug into the devices that you want to connect and into nearby wall sockets. The device encrypts the data stream (so it should not be a problem to use this system even if you are living in an apartment house) and modulates it onto the frequency of the electrical current. The receiving device (connected to your router for example) demodulates the data and decrypts them. We use this system at home and it works fine, the data transfer rate is 85MBit. However your power circuit may have to meet certain requirements. Here is the website of the manufacturer whose product we use, I guess you can get something similar at your place. http://www.devolo.com/co_EN_cs/produkte/dlan/index.html http://www.devolo.com/co_EN_cs/service/dLANFAQ.html -
Computer shuts down when ever I fly low to the ground

And run a hardware monitoring tool while playing BS to check temperatures. -
The boxed version has not been released yet, it will probably be available in retail stores during march. The box will include a printed quick start manual, the flight and GUI manuals come as PDFs. You will be able though to purchase a printed and expanded version of the flight manual from the DCS website and, according to JimMack's statement here, ED hope that it will also be available from Amazon. No, there is no PayPal option.

Computer shuts down when ever I fly low to the ground

First thing I would do is to disable automatic restart after a windows stop error occurs and check if you get a blue screen with an error code. Read this on how to do it: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/help-troubleshoot-the-blue-screen-of-death-by-preventing-automatic-reboot/ If you get an error code you can look up what it means via Google or here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms789510.aspx (expand the "Bug Check Codes" node in the tree on the left side) -
The mission designer may have disabled them for the mission. Check the "Use these settings for all missions" option in the options->gameplay menu to override the mission's settings.

There are 10 deactivations in total, not 10 for every activation. :)
-
You have 8 activations and 10 deactivations. Activations are not the same as installations. You only need an activation in the following cases: - first installation if BS - reinstallation of Windows - major hardware change As long as you do not reinstall windows and/or change your hardware you can uninstall and reinstall BS as often as you like, there is no limit, the activation key will be stored in the registry. If you want to reinstall your OS/change hardware you can use one of the 10 deactivations to save your currently used activation. After the change you just activate BS again and still have the same number of activations left as before, however the number of deactivations will be decreased by one. In a nutshell: you can reinstall Windows/do a major hardware upgrade for 18 times. See this for more info: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=568704&postcount=3

Suggestions for improving multi-monitor capability
Acedy replied to DickDastardly's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
@OP: there is a software package for pitbuilders in development, see here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=31052 I don't know though what capabilities it will offer. -
Hey cool_t, please read the announcement in this section and also forum rule no. 1.6. This forum is not the place for MP disputes. /closed

It is not only sad for their employees (and the sim community of course), if they completely stop to produce further iterations this will likely destroy the whole (small) industry of add-on makers. But who knows, maybe for some this could also be an incentive to move to DCS... :) But let's wait for clarifications, there are alot of options, they could just let it die, they could put it on hold and wait for better times, they could keep a smaller team and slow down development, they could sell the franchise, they could sell the franchise + technology, they could concentrate on the ESP engine and development tools an selling licenses for other companies to use the engine, they could even make the engine open source or at least freely available... Does anyone know if ACES are also the devs of the ESP platform, or are these different teams, i.e. one team developing the general engine/SDK, and ACES using it to build FS? Interesting article about ESP: http://www.simpilotnet.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=202&Itemid=32 Blog entry of Steve Lacey, a former MSFS developer: http://www.steve-lacey.com/blogarchives/2009/01/the_end_of_an_e.shtml

\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\BlackShark\data\scripts\Logbook :)
-
Hey mate, welcome to the forum! You need both files in order to install Black Shark. What does "will not let me download data cab" mean? The download does not start at all? Or does it abort after a certain time? If the latter it would be best if you use a download manager like this one to download it, because if the connection aborts you can simply reconnect and continue the download from where it stopped.

If the PC that you want to run BS on does not have internet connection, you can activate BS either via eMail or the StarForce ProActive website. If the automatic activation process fails because SF cannot connect to the activation server, it generates a hardware code to identify your system. You can use this code together with your serial to activate BS via eMail/website. As Matt said here the boxed version will also use internet activation, so it's the same activation procedure.

Try defragging your harddrives.
-
You extracted the data1.cab file into the Ka-50 folder, right? That's not necessary, just put both the setup.exe and data1.cab file into the same directory and start the setup.exe, the installer extracts the data1.cab by itself.
