Dedi web GUI not responding
hlfritz replied to Ron Attwood's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
Be advised that the html error codes presented by a web server can be customized, even on a per web site (or even web page) basis. Not saying that is what has been done here, but it is possible. Most often custom error codes are added to the defaults, but sometimes the defaults are hijacked and reused for a custom error. Supposedly this is done to help debug when things go wrong. ;) -
got it, thx! i will see if i can work up some general calculations and post back.
-
OK - what is range to target? do you mean it goes active at about 15km from target? thx.
-
Thx, but is that pitbull 15km from target, or pitbull 15km from launch?
-
uboats, how long for estimate or stopwatch? i.e. how long does one wait. that is a critical piece that I have not been able to dig up anywhere. I am willing to estimate, but I do not know what that time period is before pitbull. thx!

Dedi web GUI not responding

ensure you have BOTH TCP and UDP ports open in your firewall for the server port. The web control port only needs TCP, but the control app will not work if all ports/protocols are not open to the server. -
Dedi web GUI not responding

it is all working for me, on two different machines with two different dcs accounts. both the local gui and the remote control via dcs world login. also for both release install and openbeta installs on each of the machines. -
I just found this app today, wonderful! However, when i start it i cannot do anything except click on dedicated server. I was hoping to use it to switch the dedicated server between open beta and release versions (if that is possible - some have hinted it is). I do have only open beta dedicated server running in this system. I am not able to click on updater settings or anything else to configure the utility or my dedicated server software. The only button that is hot is dedicated server mode, but even clicking that does nothing. I also do not have a config file either in the folder the app is in nor the folder it creates in saved games. Does it not work with just the open beta dedicated server installed? Happy to help with testing.

how does one change the server from stable to open beta and vise versa? EDIT, NM, I found this thread: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114030 I will ask there for the questions I have.
-
In my experience you do not need to convert anything. i installed the server, brought it up, and ran stable generated missions and connected with a stable client. it would be interesting if others tested this as well to see the results; it could be that both open beta and stable were on the same release version when i tested. i have not yet had time to test further.

no, you do not need anything else DCS installed to install the dedicated server. it looks like you need to run everything as administrator, it looks like your user is a regular user and not an administrator. you can either right click and select run as administrator or try setting your user as an administrator (but sometimes you still need to right click and run as administrator). if you change your user, log out and back in for it to take effect. give that a try and see if it resolves the issue for you.

yessir i do, if i was not clear in my previous posts. the only thing i was not able to figure out is an unsupported (yet many of us are hopeful for) feature of using a web client on another system to connect to the server. i got close, but it seems ED has this locked down to use only a web client on the server itself (which does work) or from your account on their web site.

myself, liking to fly opfor to the rest of our group, will definitely buy the jf-17 over the f-16. we need more non-western aircraft (with high fidelity).

reporting back: when i run the server i can see it in my DCS World profile, and i can connect to and control it from there. i can also control it from the system itself (via the local web control link). so good for me it is working. maybe a clean install will help some get it going again. i am also going to try and see if i can figure out how to connect to the web gui from a remote system. OK, i tried all kinds of monkey business to connect from a remote machine to the webGUI. i even installed a web server and generated a certificate amongst other things. it looks like ED does some magic between the server itself and their app server that gives us the webgui page. hopefully they make a direct connect available soon.

I just installed this (because I want to use it and need to experiment). What this seemed to do for me: installed and at the end it checked for updates, and updated the updater, then started a torrent download to get the balance of the files. seems to work just like the game itself. not sure about copying from an open beta install, my guess is that it just torrents the proper files (i would think the terrains, etc. cannot be the same as open beta install as those that work with the dedicated server are different - i.e. do not require keys, etc.).

any updates on this issue since the recent patch? -
I know this is a bit old, but with the latest updates is this now fixed? Also, in this mission, when I ran it the radar was not on and one is expected to use the radar to lock the bridge and update INS. Anyone else experience this? Yes, I could turn it on but at this point in training I do not know how - that has not yet been covered (and I am actually just learning the aircraft). Thx!
-
Yeah - I could not believe it either. :) All good except we are running on outdated ATI driver .dll's. Has anyone tried the latest drivers to see fi they work? There was a recent release.
-
i opened a ticket with support, lots of back and forth, sending files and screenshots, and they helped by giving this 'temporary' workaround: Fix for ATI 3xx videocard in 1.5 and 2.0 versdions: unzip the attached archive (2 dll's) and copy these files into 'Eagle Dуnаmiсs\<DCS World>\bin' folder. See FAQ: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2564073&postcount=2 I am pretty sure these are the same files as Mustang posted since they thank him in that FAQ post. note this will work for ATI cards only, and I am not sure if there will ever be a permanent fix to this - which means our ATI cards will always be using pretty old drivers. this is what they gave me in Dec.
-
thought i would post an update, same issue. i cannot at all get into the 3d world. starts to load and then seems to get stuck and eventually i get the not responding message. this happens with released 1.5.2 and open alpha 2.0 with latest update (I had an update today, not sure when it was released).
-
you are probably better off to deactivate it first (if that will work for you in your situation). it may not if that serial number is now actually on the other machine though. otherwise you can delete if from the registry, some google searching will give you the instructions. do be very careful messing around in the registry!
-
update, still the same issue with open beta 1.5.2. I have to keep textures and water on medium. i have also tested many versions of ati driver, older catalyst and all released versions of crimson. please do let me know if i can do any additional testing. as stated, i can test with a NVIDIA Titan X and am willing to do so but i really need to know if i have to deactivate and reactivate my licenses to change out to the Titan X and then back to the R9 Nano.
-
BIGNEWY, Thx. Is it normal to just post and not really hear anything since we are referred here as the official way to report problems? No biggie if it is, but how do we ensure it is being looked at? I AM willing to do whatever testing as stated and requested, I already put a couple hours into it. Conversely, if it is just me tell me and I will go away! ;) The other thread does not apply, unless different ATI cards are effected in different ways. But I AM running the latest Crimson drivers anyway as stated (15.11 is Crimson). I CAN try a different ATI card, or I can try GTX as well. But befoire I do I would like to know if I will have to deactivate and reactivate my licenses. MoGas, I am not sure, I will have to check. it is whatever the default high settings gives, as i can run on high except for the textures i mentioned.
-
is this being looked at? i thought i would have a reply by now. thx!
