Disable the Thrustmaster Hotas Lights?
BlackSharkAce replied to Goshawk's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi, I just wrote a little guide about automatically running a script at startup and thought this might come in handy to you guys for turning those LEDs off automatically. See here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=144584. Cheers ! -
Hi all, After a few years away from DCS I jumped back in and bought myself a HOTAS Warthog :joystick: After figuring out the script language to set up some LED functions and get all my keybindings and macros to work I was desperately looking for a way to automatically load that script at startup because I only fly the A10C anyway.. Since I couldn't find any solution online I decided to look further into the manuals and release note and finally found a solution to my problem. This also works if you wanna turn the LEDs off at startup for example, since turning the LEDs off can be implemented in a script. The solution is to launch TARGETGUI.exe with command line parameters asking to run a certain script as follows: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Thrustmaster\TARGET\x64\TARGETGUI.exe" -r "C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\Thrustmaster Warthog Configurations\DCS A10C Warthog.tmc" Note that your path to TARGETGUI.exe and to the script file may differ. TARGETGUI.exe also supports other command line parameters as depicted in the attached picture below. Another thing I did to keep my desktop clean upon booting is to minimize the window to the task bar using nircmd (http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/nircmd.html - download link at the bottom, instructions here: http://www.instructables.com/id/Great-stuff-with-command-prompt-and-Nircmd/step2/Install-nircmdexe/) with the following command: "nircmdc.exe" win min process "TARGETGUI.exe" Note that one could also use the following command to completely hide the window and have TARGETGUI.exe run in the background: "nircmdc.exe" win hide process "TARGETGUI.exe" The downside of this approach is that there is no access to TARGETGUI.exe and one would need to kill the process to run a different script file for example. This is no problem to me since I only fly the A10C. To wrap it up I wrote a bat file that I call from my windows startup folder: @echo TARGET Script launched.. @echo 1/2) Calling Script from TARGETGUI.. @Start "" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Thrustmaster\TARGET\x64\TARGETGUI.exe" -r "C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\Thrustmaster Warthog Configurations\DCS A10C Warthog.tmc" @timeout /t 1 @echo 2/2) Hiding TARGETGUI window to task bar.. @"nircmdc.exe" win min process "TARGETGUI.exe" @timeout /t 1 Hope this little guide comes in handy to some of you !

Smooth Performance?...
BlackSharkAce replied to Juicehead's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
it's not 2.6 but 3.4 ghz i think.. -
It's Christmass for everyone, ever thaught of this ? Anyway consider there's no 15 days period, there's never been one anyway..

well stand-off lock is achievable, just keep your piper on the target for some time and keep trying to lock it with tms up long, ajust your slew speed to achieve better results, got a lock on an osa 8nm away tonight !! so it is doable just keep on trying.
-
as commented in the video: "Nice but keep in mind this is force corellate mode and not standard lock and launch release method. As you said it works for statics but is useless for moving targets, just to be clear on that."

Nose landing gear stuck after takeoff
BlackSharkAce replied to Garfieldo's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
ok if there are no brakes on nosewheel this is in deed not relevant. -
Nose landing gear stuck after takeoff
BlackSharkAce replied to Garfieldo's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
try braking the wheels before retracting them, you don't want turning wheels while you get your gear up !! -
no radio transmissions here either. at leas for tower atc stuff like startup, taxi, takeoff, inbound, landing, the text does appear though. i think this is not yet implemented, JTAC seems to be talkative though, like in the last training video posted today. regards.

sensitive joystick controls
BlackSharkAce replied to shea1980's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
well i'd put like a 25-30% curve to begin with, if your stick has some "play" near the middle, use a 1-3% deadzone, that' should do good for a beginning :) -
Hardware requirement go up that is a true statement.. you say it yourself I mean the requirement go up along with the average hardware that's it. I don't feel like todays requirement are above today's average hardware. My 2 cents.
-
I personnally use this one called "Prio". It does the same and is very discrete and low performance impact. Gain in performance is marginal but chaning priorities definately gives a hand, be sure to know what you tweak btw.. you dont wanna mess up the vital functions of windows. http://www.prnwatch.com/prio.html

Flaming Cliffs 2 A-10A Comic Strip
BlackSharkAce replied to Deigs's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Not too bad :) (be advised, you can fix your cockpit to work properly with the Simmod A-10.. that'll avoid the black edges on the top of your cockpit panels) -
lovely ! thanks !

Yeah, I love that terrain and the 3d model looks beautiful. What about the shadow under that parking roof ? Oh let's say it's just WIP :) Nice update, looking forward to Producer's note #3. And BTW: Since you're going into nice details as that little shelter, I'd love to see some taxi signs and taxi markings on the ground in this kind of fashion:http://www.airportinfosite.com/Runway_and_Taxiway_Signs/Taxiway_Intersection_Sign.jpg and http://asrs.arc.nasa.gov/publications/directline/dl3_taxi_f1.gif

Why FC2 is slower than FC1?
BlackSharkAce replied to combatace's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
What sources do you get the statements from ? St-Imaginia ^^ -
continue here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=52165

it's as accurate as available sources are, it corrects a mer 3 placement bug too and it adds available payload. previous topic about this somewhere on this forum.

A-10A Loadout for FC 2.0 - deactivated Weapons - Lock On crash
BlackSharkAce replied to VTJS17_Fire's topic in DCS Modding
maybe because there is only a model and no .cmd for this weapon, check your bazar/world/shapes folder, weapons without the correct .cmd can't work and are purely cosmetic as far as i experienced. -
A-10A_Extended_Payload and A-10A_HUD_ViewAngles_Roll
BlackSharkAce replied to BlackSharkAce's topic in DCS Modding
haven't reproduces it yet, for some missions the server.lua file responsible for the cockpit alignement is a custom one. so it might be causing problems, but as far as missions created for the simmod a-10 are concerned there is no problem afaik. another fact is that this mod (Extended payload) does not modify anything view related, so no explications about this quite yet.
